And it seems I'm back on PC, somewhat.
I suppose I should begin my return to blogging on here with some background; some of you may know me, others may not. But I've been a member of these forums since around 2007, so five years now, a couple days after Diamond and Pearl were released in North America. I live in the UK, but I imported Pearl version way back then and joined up to trade with other people. I have been a Pokémon fan for even longer though, playing and adoring the originals back on the Gameboy all the way through to the current generation.
I was a good member, I posted with reasoned posts that were polite and interesting, and because of my preference for trading (and later battling, as it transpired) I spend most of my time around the Diamond and Pearl forums. People took notice, and I was eventually made a moderator of those boards which, where the more veteran posters among you may remember me from.
I really enjoyed being a mod here. I interacted with many different people from many walks of life, all united by a burning passion for a particular media franchise that we all know and love, whether its the games, anime, manga, or a combination of the three. But, as is always the way, life got in the way. Towards the end of high school my activity began to wane, I had issues in my personal life that I struggled with, and as I ventured forth into college my activity slid even more until, perhaps inevitably, the staff had no choice but to remove my moderator status.
Naturally, I was sad about this at the time, and I tried to appeal the decision. But, as time wore on, I came to realise that it was the best thing to do, and let new blood come through. I loved being a mod, and I hope current and ex staff members look back on my stint on staff with good praise, and I hope I did a good job. I would love to return to the staff one day but, of course, life may get in the way again.
I'm at University now, and in the February of this year, I entered my 20s and thus no longer a teenager. This is obviously a big step, as in the summer of 2013 I will be out in the big wide world looking for a job. But, I'm really enjoying my degree, I have a wonderful girlfriend in my life that I adore with every fibre of my being, and future prospects look good.
So, I'm back, kinda. My activity will not be at its utmost for the forseeable future, and may never be. But, I adore this place, I had some great times here and I would like to have some more. I'm getting the urge to battle again, so I'm in the process of making some Gen V teams (I'm a Wi-Fi battler, i don't really like the PO stuff, but I'm sure I could get into it if I HAD to) and I want to be a part of this community again.
So, if you've seen me around but never spoken to me before, don't be shy, drop me a PM and we'll talk! Or, if we used to be good friends back in the day, drop me a line again, I'd love to talk to some of the old guard from back in the day, so get to my profile and spam some stuff there, guys!
Do I sound old?
