    Before everyone starts all these threads about what happened on Sunday, Mar28 we'll just let you know what really happened.

    One of the IMPORTANT tables in our database crashed (locked up or otherwise bork'd) and we attempted to repair it, like normal. well that at first didn't work out too well so we canceled the repair and shut down the forums and set up the maint page, which i'm sure most of you saw..

    We then had to modify where MySQL stores tmp (i.e. working files) while its modifying (editing) them as the repair process filled up the avail disk space on the previous tmp setting.. once that was done and working, we again ran the table repair and, since the table that was crashed was HUGE, it took a few hours to repair. But it DID repair and here we are.

    Thanks everyone for waiting it out and lets hope it doesn't happen again for a long time :)
     
    I hope it doesn't happen again, haha. I was reading a tutorial and I accidently closed firefox and I couldn't get back on the sight. It was driving me nuts. Haha.
     
    & here I was assuming the worst. "ohmygod, PC IS DEAD TO US ALL. T__T".

    I'm glad everything is back up and working now, and I really hope it stays okay. It seems out of the water for now, at least.

    It was majorly annoying but Im am glad everything is working now... i forgot why I was even trying to get on again...
     
    Table? Like a desk table? I can uderstand the crash, just not the table.

    Oh, and never again would be great, LOL.

    like a row in a spreadsheet..
    a table is one set of data in a database. in this case it was an important one, the 'postindex' table its kinda needed to edit/post posts. *sigh*
     
    The forum is still being funky. Topics replied to aren't near the top, and one I replied to has the forum marker that I did reply, and it still doesn't display my post on Page 3. Clicking Page 3 jumps back to page 2 :\ ...

    Glad it's up, though. Still buggy.

    I'm stuck on Page 52 of the HGSS Help Thread, yet it goes up to 54. Clicking 54 jumps me back to Page 52.
     
    This place seems as if it will never die, and I do think it will probably happen again.
    And I agree with the above, last page won't work.

    EDIT:
    Well, the last page isn't working in two of the threads I checked in other trivia.
     
    last page, last post, and so on seem SEEM to be working now..
     
    I'm surprised no one has noticed the showcase in game development is broken, it isn't updating when threads are posted on. On another note, since you removed the name changing feature, PC has been going wrong way more. Half the time, you haven't even told us why, and no one has asked.
     
    We truly appreciate the effort Steve. It all sounds so technical and stuff. If it was me in charge, I would've just banged the server with a wrench a couple of times. XD
