the sound on my mp3 player is low is there a software or something I can download to boost the volume up?

Most likely the songs you have were recorded with a very low volume. I know because I have a few songs on mine that sound like a mouse yet have some really loud ones that blow into my ear.

But you can't do anything to your MP3 player other then turn the volume up.

are you using an iPod or another Mp3 device? although Nevarine did accentuate a very good point. if you got the songs off of limewire then theres a very large change that they were recorded at a low level.

If you are using iTunes you can pump up the volume a little more on it by right-clicking and choosing "Get Info". then choosing the Option tab you will see a volume slider at the top that will enable you to turn the volume up (in Techno-speak is referred to as increasing the Gain)

There should be a volume button on your mp3 player (to increase you usually press the '+' button). Try using that. ^_^

j/k It could be your headphones or they're not inserted correctly. Or a dodgy mp3.. audacity can increase the volume but would require it to be done individually per song.
Or check that the equalizer is turned up or on corresponding setting, if it has one.
