6th Gen Special events

So I thought about this because yesterday was my Birthday and I went by the pokemon center and they took notice, it was the same for BW.
Now this got me thinking what if special events like this was more detailed in pokemon X and Y.
What I mean is instead of just the pokemon center noticing but a lot of npc's notice as well.
Here are a couple of examples I was thinking of

1) surprise birthday party- imagine depending on how far into the game you've gotten certain npc trainers , gym leaders and even elite four members could surprise you in your house for a birthday party.
They could also do something like this with the multiplayer function depending what they will be in full

2) Birthday cup- a special competition between trainers in the game with special rare item if you win that's not available in regular play.

3) special Pokemon- Imagine if game freak took 12 pokemon ( a different type for each month ) and on your birthday a special area of the game would open up and allow you to capture a shiny version of that pokemon. Now these 12 pokemon would not be available normally in the game , so you would have to breed and trade them with people who were born on other months to get all 12.
I think this would encourage people to connect with people around the world.

So what do you guys think? Stuff like this not only for birthdays but other holidays as well
Ex maybe something like anniversary of pokemon would be cool

Yeah I agree. That would be a cool little feature and it seems like something Nintendo would actually do.

that would be cool, but i doubt it, another that gf should do, but doubt it is they should release 1 different poke to each country, that can only be obtained by trading with people from other country

Little features like that are always cool and fun! I hope that features for holidays and birthdays are added! Animal Crossing like features would be nice, but not a necessity for me.

These are all pretty cool ideas! :) I hope there's someone working in Gamefreak with creative ideas like these.

The only problem in general is that people could constantly change their 3DS date settings or registered birthday, to the extent that they get a shiny on a daily basis or whatever.

In regards to having special events on other days as well, it's worth mentioning that the Diamond Dust easter egg is triggered on Masuda's birthday.

This does sound really...cool...

One idea I have is that on your birthday, you get to blow out the candles and make a wish. When you do, it goes to a screen similar to the GTS search. You choose a pokemon and hit confirm. You watch your character blow out the candles, and suddenly a rival or some other friend of yours rushes in and informs you that a pokemon was seen in a certain part of the region. This would be fun not only because you could get any pokemon you want, but also because after you've caught them all, you can get a very funny screen shot of your rival freaking out because "theirs a really powerful, rare pokemon over on route 3! It's called Bidoof!"

I know that in most recent games, an NPC (like Lucas/Dawn in D/P/Pt and the Pokemon Center nurse in 5th Gen) asks if it's your birthday if you play on the day registered as your birthday. And I'd like to see some other birthday-related items being given to you like the Toy Cake Musical prop you get in 5th Gen, and the Global Link in 5th Gen also gave out a free Togekiss you can obtain on your birthday so I'm hoping 6th Gen's Global Link (or whatever their counterpart is to the Dream World) will also give a special Pokemon on your birthday.

And the Diamond Dust I'd like to see return as well, it's been a trend since 4th Gen to see it on Junichi Masuda's birthday.
