Square-Enix Fan Club

Projected release date for the UK is October 9th. I've seen it on GameFaqs (though that's the same site that told me Re:COM was coming out here >_>;), Play.com and Game. Game is the most reliable out of those three imo (Play.com said we were getting Harvest Moon: ToT in January, but we're not getting it at all), so yaaay. :D Also, Game price is £24.99. It has a countdown on the page too! 70 days to go! YAY. X3;

13 DAYS UNTIL AKUROKU DAY.

Hmm, I may be lucky with some b-day money then... >D

Talking of bday money, I need to go find some cosplay things~ :D

... And then download Kingdom Hearts Sims/ hacks onto my laptop. >:3

A kingdom hearts club, i have to join.

lol sure no problem again as i mentioned to the others, just be respectful and follow the thread rules (as well as PC's rules obviously)

and just hang out and have fun ^_^. geez crys hasnt been on here in awhile maybe i should send her a message and see whats up..

Is it not normal for Crys to not be on then?

Is it not normal for Crys to not be on then?

well, yes and no. theres times when she's just not on. but even if she doesnt go to the threads or something she and I usually talk when she's on and i havent gotten a message from her in a few days :\
course i guess she could just be busy or something.
(actually i know of something else that could be wrong but im not going to talk about it here)

Hmm, I kinda understand where you're coming from. Let's hope it's nothing serious then.

I'm sure it's nothing anyways

*Looks at calender* Why is Days so far away ><

yeah im hopin too.

lol its so far away because game companies, (especially square)

likes to F*** with our heads and make us wait unnecessarily.

Translate things in unnecessary orders XD

Guys, watch the swearing, filtered or not. D:

I don't understand what's taking so long to translate Days. All things considered, there's less text than a full game PLUS it only took three months to localize and release KH2. Why would a DS game take even more time than that? :(

Is it true that they translate them in different languages before putting them back into English?

I assume they translate straight to English from Japanese. Then they translate from English to other languages, though they might translate from Japanese to the other languages. :( I just know the English localized version almost always comes first when it comes to game localization with other languages to follow.

Why can't they translate to English, release it in the English speaking countries, therefore satisfying MOST of the US and UK (and maybe others), THEN translate it to the other languages?

Wouldn't it make it slightly easier?

That's what they do, iirc. Unless you guys in the UK get a version with more languages (I know some games are like that)? :( I don't know why there's always a localization delay between US and UK though--it's not like they alter words like colo(u)r, right? @_@; It makes no sense to me if you look at it that way.

I do wish Square-Enix would get on the ball with releases though. It's ridiculous to wait so long between Japanese and English releases, especially now that more and more companies are doing international game releases. :( Like most American-made games will release worldwide within days of each other in different regions. Whyyyy can't more Japanese studios do that? ;;

Yeah, isn't that why importing from European countries work. Because they have it in 5 different languages or so in one cart.

:( I almost wish they'd do that with English and French here in Canada like they should but then I'd end up importing everything from the US anyway since the translation delay would piss me off lmao.

Playing games in other languages is one of the best ways to learn the language. XD;

yes if im not mistaken thats usually what happens. instead of a strictly UK version its a European version. thats why theres a delay, which is why most UK citizens opt to preorder from the US. especially since sometimes its cheaper anyway, if you find a reliable site that wont screw you over.

and the reason US ships out everywhere within a couple days is because we have international teams HERE working on stuff and can translate reasonably quickly.

whereas japan has to ship it elsewhere for translations. why do you think FF is so hoooorribly mistranslated? because THEY didnt do it. WE did.

lol perfect example: watch Advent Children in English with the subtitles on. like 80 percent of it doesnt even come close to matching up.

EDIT: and as far as releases go, thats just how they pique our interest, and keep it there. think about it.

wouldnt you be more excited about something when you have NO idea when it's going to happen, in lieu of knowing exactly where and when?

I'm baaaaaaaack. Who missed me? :D

The only KH game released thus far in the UK with more than one language available is COM. KH and KH2 had no options language wise. The reason we don't get the English one here the same time as the US version is released, is probably because it wouldn't be fair for other countries in our 'region' who would have to wait for it to come out in their language.

Also, they definitely don't alter the grammar to make it English-English. XD The Organisation is still 'Organization XIII'.
