Progress

After a lot of server downtime I managed to spend a couple of hours on Go today. Unfortunately it was a slow day for progress as the village seemed to have a scarce supply of Pokémon available. There weren't too many highlights from today but I found another 10 KM egg, made some more progress on my current one, and most importantly hatched a cute little Sandshrew!

SO MUCH DOWNTIME! I sent many hours today trying to get Go to work but unfortunately I could make barely any progress at all with how awful the servers were being. I managed to catch a small handful of Pokémon (nothing useful!) and make a tiny amount of progress on my eggs. I have a 2 KM egg which is almost about to hatch so hopefully that becomes something other than a Rattata, and my second 10 KM egg is only about 1.5 KM away from hatching too. I managed to get a new medal today, silver rank of the Collector medal, but otherwise today was just a small amount of exp grinding by evolving wild Rattata and Pidgey from my back garden to try and level up faster. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have more stable servers and manage to make some real progress again!

Also my polar bear got in a fight with a Magikarp...

Just hatched a 2 KM egg into a Caterpie if that counts as interesting? Pretty happy with that honestly because now I have a 207 CP Caterpie which is just badass if I do say so myself.

I'm just impressed it's managing to go positive on battery with it up honestly :p

It's been a good day guys ♥ The day started off very iffy as one of my 10 KM eggs hatched - it was a second Magmar and a pitifully weak one at that, boo! Once I'd woken up a bit a took a 15 minute drive down to visit my grandparents and found some pretty great stuff; a wild Diglett popped up and decided to join my team and I racked up a few other Pokémon including a 542 Eevee now waiting to be evolved. Still no Oddish but I'm making progress now! Whilst driving I happened to see this little darling appear but unfortunately we drove by too quickly to encounter him:

Once I'd got back home I decided to head out again a few hours later and spent two hours searching around the village for Pokémon. Before leaving I happened to spy a Magnemite in my back garden which was an instant bonus for the night and then shortly after I found a cute little Poliwag sat outside of the closed pub - I instantly captured him and used his candy to evolve into a Poliwhirl and boy did that feel good! The trip out was then pretty tame all around, catching bucket loads of Caterpie (which is a tad unusual for this area) and attempting to hunt down silhouettes all hiding behind the 3-step glitch. We figured there wasn't much point staying around any longer as we decided to head home, until...

... this little beauty appeared! A wild Gengar hopped out from behind a tree and challenged me to a battle as I quickly took him down with ease and claimed him for my own. 20 Gastly candy and 17,000 Stardust later I am now broke as can be, but with an awesome new 984 CP Gengar to show off! With renewed determination we headed into the center of the village to gather some items at PokéStops (+3 eggs ♥) and challenge the gym, claiming it in the name of Team Mystic.

The rest of the night was spent chilling outside until we got too cold and came back home. Once I'd made some food it was time for an evolving spree netting me around 10,000 exp and a cool new Butterfree.

Another great day! I'm super tired after today's catching spree but oh boy did I get a lot done today. I'll keep this entry short but I managed to hatch the 10 KM egg I've been saving for days and oh boy a I glad I did; here was the result:

She hatched around 1,500 CP and then I stuffed her cute little face with candy and stardust until she couldn't take any more. Strongest Pokémon I've had to date! Another addition to the team today came from evolving my old Eevee, 542 CP, into this beauty:

Feel a bit bad for her being instantly out-shadowed by Lapras but hey, at least she's on the team! I then raised some of my team's levels a tad and caught/evolved a new Pidgey into an even stronger Pidgeot. Whilst wandering around the town I ran into several PokéStops and beefed up the local gym which now proudly has Team Mystic's logo spouting from the top of it again. Unfortunately this happened before I hatched the Lapras so I could only leave poor S'more in there for now! Still, she should be a challenge to take down. Whilst walking around I managed to run into a wild Tentacool, a Voltorb and best of all, a wild Electabuzz - talk about lucky!

Trainer level 21, woohoo!

Another trip into town, another great day! Spent the day in town celebrating my boyfriend's birthday so we went around a railway museum (fun...!) and then went out for a fancy Italian meal; all the while collecting rare Pokémon of course! Still no Oddish to be seen but oh boy did I get a lot of cool stuff today, and a LOT of eggs. Hatched some really cool stuff like a Vulpix and a Pikachu and now feeling pretty good about my Pokédex. Pretty sure we found out that the shopping arcade we were in is a Jynx nest so that's cool to know if we ever need any more - oh boy were there a lot of Jynx there... Then there was also this:

It felt like an apocalypse was underway seeing all the Drowzee writhing around in front of us, maps full up with them and not being able to step 5 metres without being ambushed by dozens of yellow blobs. It was a great day out nonetheless and caught some pretty nice things like a wild Haunter and a Machop whilst also spamming PokéStops to collect a whole bunch of random eggs. Got a new 10 KM egg on the go now after today which is already half hatched so definitely looking forward to seeing what that becomes! We did some gym fights too and generally roamed around the village for a few hours at night but nothing too exciting happened, outside of seeing some random drunk girls fall over...

Throughout the day I also hatched a lot of eggs. Here's what we got:

Shorter update today as I've not had too much time to get out much over the last two days! I've spent the last two days around the village, mostly heading back and forth between my house and my grandparents' place to look after them which has resulted in limited Pokémon catching time as they live up in the isolated countryside. I've caught a fair few Zubat, many Pidgey and spent today at a local garden centre which for some reason was swaming with Bug-type Pokémon - caught over 20 Weedle and enough Venonat to reach 46 candy so that'll be a new Pokédex entry soon for Venomoth. I've not added anything new to my team or the Pokédex yet but hopefully that'll change tomorrow. Hatched a few eggs too and got a Bulbasaur from one of them (which unfortunately was my starter!) but the 10 KM egg from previous posts is still underway; about 2.5 KM left on it now.

Tomorrow I'll be heading into town with some lures and some incense so let's see how many Pokémon we can hoard up!​

Four PokéStops with four lures activated just outside of a Subway restaurant for around two hours - this is what I call productive Pokémon training. Caught more Pokémon here than you could shake a stick at and got a huge bunch of Pokéballs and eggs along the way. The Pokémon around here weren't too special - a lot of Gastly, a lot of Pidgey and a lot of Zubat, but it all adds up and counts towards exp so anything is good right now. Saved up all of these Pokémon for a massive evolving spree at the end of the day and got a huuuge bunch of experience from that! We then visited a cute park we found near the town centre:

Tried my hands at some Pokémon photography and... quite pleased with the results! The park area was beautiful with a wonderful lake in the middle and quite a few cool Pokémon around so we spent a couple of hours there collecting a bunch of Eevee and Venonat whilst taking in the sights - only one Venonat left to go until I can evolve into one of my favourite Pokémon, Venomoth. Lots of walking, lots of PokéStops and lots of eggs made this a really fun day overall and it's definitely a place we'll re-visit soon; this exploration is one of the greatest things about playing GO. Came home afterwards and went on a huge Lucky Egg powered evolving spree, totalling around 36k experience in the space of half an hour with countless new Kakuna and Pidgeotto introduced to the world!

And once again we hatched a lot of eggs; here are the results:

2 KM: Pikachu (another, yay!), Magikarp (more candy!), Pidgey (boooo!), Pidgey (more boooo!), Rattata (BOOOO!), Weedle (could be worse)

Just a quick update to say I've made hardly any progress recently which is a big shame! The village just seems void of any new Pokémon recently so I've been trying my best to catch what I can to power-level before heading into the city but progress is slow for now. On Monday I'll be heading into town to see what I can catch and check out an area which I believe should be a Scyther nest, but for now this guy is the only big progress I've made:

Bellsprout aren't at all common in my area so it'll be a while until he evolves, but oh boy will he be strong when he does!

Victreebel is one of my favourites so I'll be overjoyed when he finally evolves - looks like it might take a while though as I've only ever found one Bellsprout naturally so far haha. Weepinbell is certainly a unique one but I love him for that derpiness ♥

Still level 22 but getting close to 23 now!

Had a lot happen since the last update but only really over the course of yesterday. My village doesn't seem to offer much in the way of catching new Pokémon anymore so yesterday I met up with a great old friend and had a wonderful day catching Pokémon in the local town and around the lake we have nearby. We managed to take down countless gyms with the record being three held at once before they were taken back but unfortunately I was a bit dim and chose to cash in the bonus on the first one! I mostly used my 1,800 CP Lapras for taking on the gyms and oh boy is she strong after the patch - can anyone say 2HKO Blizzard? Also hatched this lil' guy whom I am thrilled with:

Made a decent amount of Pokédex progress throughout the day with a lot of eggs leading to a lot of evolutions and I picked up some really cool new team members through it. Contrary to the section above, my current team is really comprised of my top 10-12 Pokémon as I've found they all have some interesting uses and work well against different types of Pokémon so here's the grand list:

Finally hit level 23, hooray :D

Not an exceptionally productive day today but I did get a decent bit of progress done. Went out into the village for a few hours and rounded up some Shellder to power up my Cloyster with, then did a big evolving spree when I got home which just boosted me into level 23 through evolving two new species for me - Ivysaur and Seadra. Took down the local gym with my Lapras 1v3ing and claimed it for Team Mystic and collected a few more 5 KM eggs to start hatching. Made some good progress on my current 10 KM eggs, one of them only needs about 0.4 KM until it'll hatch and the other hatched into this monstrosity...

At least I'll have enough Magmar candy for when Magmortar is finally released? :p

Hatched a decent couple of eggs today too, here's what we got:

2 KM: Bulbasaur (enough to evolve into Ivysaur!), Pikachu (up to 31 candy now), Spearow (not great but evolved into a 1076 Fearow, not bad!)
