Actually now i have to agree with adam it sorta is not fair to give nobody else a chance because i know some people who really deserve the mod position but are not given it because another half good mod is assigned that forum. Im sorry zappy but it really is not fair at all. I mean not letting ANYBODY be a mod is a bit over the top.
So you're saying every old schmo that looks should get the job right away?

We still hire occasional random mods, and after this there may be some.

-_-;

Hm, yeah A lot of mods arent active from what Ive seen....

I suggest you read what I've said on page 17 about that. I've said it once, and people don't listen the first time... *sigh* I suppose I type too much...
Thread is going really, really fast. >_<

I dont quite understand what you're saying. Everyone has the chance to be selected, but your own attitude and skills take into play. Although mods are hardly ever hired.

Alot of people agree with you,but no one in power thinks so.

no im not... just that if someone has been a really helpful member and has not asked to be a mod or anything and they are active and post a lot with a good rep they should atleast have a small chance of being a moderator because if you give 1 mod 8 forums they mineaswell be a smod. Really a mod should only have 2 or 3 forums to mod over

EXcept for if it were to come down to a winner, the members lost.

Well then here it is again.

My suggestion? Well I think you should have mods that heavily mod one forum to keep an eye out for potiental, and once they deem a member qualified, trustworthy, and so on and so forth, then they should tell someone who can promote the member about him or her. And the mod or whoever, should give a valid reason, and if an admin or whoever deems the member qualified and thinks they need the person, then bam mod the member. As for promoting mods? Very good, but don't just promote a mod, follow what I said for promoting members to promote mods.

This is moving really fast isn't it?

When they are hired it's usally in a wrong way, no offense but instead of hiring Lily_pichu to a area that allreay has one mod, modding a member to a area with not mods would have been a better choice.

I would love to know what mod mods 8+ forums

The reason that the Admins (and everyone else in high power) can't just give out mod positions is because if that would happen then, some of those Mods would abuse their power and use it for bad things.<<didn't choose very good words for that statement<<
That is why the admins have to know who they are giving the position to, like can I trust this person, does this person know what he needs to know for the job, is this person active enough, and so on and so forth.

We'll look into that suggestion, it seems to be on of the most mature opinions out there. :) I already read the one you posted before.

There have been some changes:

Jedi_Amara now mods Other Writings
Mr Cat Dog was hired in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
I [JKaizer] took on Other Anime/Manga
PichuSecretBase has taken Pokemon General
tmbjr now mods in Other Games

We're working on it. ^_^
