Um, I just said I didnt know o.o;;;

Mainly what he is saying mods have to be active.

o.O;; okay you just uber confused me o.o;;

Anyways...
*looks at Davids post at the top*
Yeah I noticed that...D was last on Jan. 29, but posted last Jan. 23rd...I guess mods can just be like angels, watching over PC! ^_^

He is asying that mods are like really active and anybody who is can be one.

Woah! WOAH STOP RIGHT THERE XD
1)Who the freak is he?
2) Actually, thats untrue. How do you define active, first of all?

Being an active member doesn't make you a mod. -_-;; You have to have skill in the forums you moderate, as well as just plain being respectful to others, following the rules, and so on. Activity is a good chunk of being a good mod, but it doesn't mean every active member's gonna become one. -_-

Exactly, just what I was going to say seniorita~

1) Remember~
Quality NOT quantity
If you believe that "active" means posting uber fast (for instance like me xD!!!) Then thats not how it works. If you make unmeaningful posts, you dont stand a chance.

I know that I was saying what it seemed like in posts DSS had about being active.It seems like that.

It just goes to show you the different things people think can make you a mod, I guess, XD

But yeah, you don't need to be extremely active to be a good mod. Like Kelsey said, it's a good chunk, but it isnt a neccessity.(sp?)

And flaming? wha? Oo

Being active could be anything....e.g reporting posts, being on a lot, and not neccessarily posting~

Many members do do that like few people I know.You guys are a great staff.

On the subject of being a "good" moderator, it's quite simple. Like my friend Mikademus (from another forum) says, "To be moderate is to impose restraint, to moderate is to enforce restraint. In order to moderate, one must be moderate, and one who isn't moderate shouldn't be a moderator." Um, something like that. o.O And remember, postcount hardly matters in the long run. Take Steve for example, he's here every day, despite what his postcount shows.

Yeah that is true.

And on the subject of being active, reporting posts, making posts, etc. has nothing to do with it. Like Eli said, the key factor is quality. Aside from that, moderators should (not must) be curteous, helpful, and respectful to other members (except uber-spammers like Maca) both before and after they become a moderator.

P.S. Making longer replies contributes to quality. *winks at MegaD*

Well, Ty has done a pretty darn good job explaining things, if I may say so. ^_~

But seriously folks, if being a moderator is that important to you, then I wish you luck on becoming one. Just remember, PC would be nothing without its members. You guys are every bit as important as the staff is. ^_~

~Kelsey

So, you're saying you want to become a moderator? Why? Moderating is a job with big responsibilities. I've learnt that from experience. ^_^;

You don't need to do anything really ^^; If you try and act how you think will get you modded, chances are you won't be modded. Just act like a normal member would, it always helps if you excel in one area, like I did with anime and Kelsey with writing.
