what do you feel is the strongest and most powerful pokemon ability (ex. flash fire; raises attack if hit by a fir move) i would have to say wonder guard because of what it does; only super effective attacks can hit the user

Wonder Guard and some others are useful...none r the strongest it is best used in these words: All abilities are strong against what the pokemon is for!

    Run Away

For obvious reasons, Wonder Guard, seeing that it makes the Pokemon imune to all but the types they are weak too. Thankfully Shedinja has weakness... a fair few. And only 1 HP, so it's also Sandstorm weak and what-not. Meaning the ability doesn't ensure it being a beast by any means.

If say it was on Spiritomb though... O_O

They're not the strongest by any means, but I was always partial to Sacred Fire and Aeroblast. Nearly 100% accurate, 100 power, high critical hit rate for Aeroblast, and 50% chance to burn for Sacred Fire.

The ability would never go on Spiritomb becuase then Spiritomb wouldn't faint at all!

Well, it could, say from weather effects (if it didn't have Leftovers), and status effects (like Toxic). Wonder Guard doesn't stop those, just direct attacks. Destiny Bond too could work on it.

But it wouldn't go on it of course anyway. Hence why it doesn't, and went on Shedinja. Who has weaknesses, and only 1 HP as well meaning one hit would down it, unlike Spiritomb who is a defennsive Pokemon with more than 1 HP.

Those are moves, not abilities. >_< But I'd agree that they are awesome moves anyway.

Prolly Wonder Guard. Would work great with Spiritomb like mentioned before. D:

But Shedinja (only Pokémon with Wonder Guard IIRC) is awesome with it in competitive.

You haven't heard of Toxic? Leech Seed? Entry Hazards? Weather?

I'll agree with the majority and say Wonder Guard would be the best ability. Only when equipped with the right Pokemon, I believe. However, most opponents would in fact aim for your weaknesses, so that's a minor Wonder Guard downfall right there. Still a fantastic ability, but it snagged the wrong Pokemon to use.

There are some other cool abilities out there like Magic Guard and Simple.

Incorrect. There is a DP Glitch which means Pokemon with Wonder Guard can always be hit by Fire Fang. Luckily, that doesn't affect Sheds to much of an extent (xD). Or I think there is. :\

Clear Body's pretty good, but Levitate is the best. Complete immunity to the most common move in the metagame as well as immunity to spikes and T-spikes.

clear body, synchronize, trace, poison point, flame body those are good to me.

    Illuminate

Magic Guard, Levitate, Serene Grace, Natural Cure, and so on..
I have a personal preference for Huge Power, though - Go Azumarill!

I wouldn't really say Abilities are strong, just useful. They can't hit things.

I'd say Scynchronize because it makes it easier for me to catch Pokémon with the right natures. For battling though, it's either No Guard or Pressure (if a Pokémon with great defences has it).
Wonder Guard is kinda useless if you ask me, considering only Shedinja gets it (legaly >_>) and nobody uses that Pokémon anyway.

Arena Trap is best in my opinion for competitive, giving it to a strong Pokémon to switch in on something it can kill.
Pure Power and Huge Power are just kick ass.
Wonder Guard is good but will only be given to Pokémon with weaknesses and probably one with crap HP like Shedinja.
The weather abilities would be great for non-ubers to make better weather teams.

Scrappy STAB Close Combat > Wonder Guard Spiritomb.

Adaptability sticks out for me as one of the most powerful and offensively useful abilities in a Pokemon. Imagine a Light Ball Pikachu Adaptability Volt Tackle against a Gyarados (not taking Intimidate into accout) O____O
