Suggestion for banned members...

The problem is, we have a choice of which usergroup to put the person in when we're banning them, but that usergroup is chosen independently from the type of ban we give them. For instance, we could have someone banned for a week with the "Booted out--Don't be like me!" title or someone permabanned given the "Temporarily Banned" title by accident; tempbans are just so uncommon anymore that most uppers use the permaban title as their default ban title no matter what the length of the person's ban.

I only saw "Temporarily Banned" twice here in PC (3 now). Although few members whose title was "Booted Out - Don't be like me!" were actually temporarily banned. Although the idea of the date when they are going to unbanned in their User titles was a good idea.

You have now. XD
That's the only member we got in the temp-ban group.
I don't even understand why that person's banned. Members do that yet they just get a warning.

Read Kaga's post (the one before yours).

Does it matter? Not all bans are known to members.

I really don't think it makes a difference anyway. If they're temp banned, you'll see it when they get back. And some temp bans are long enough that they're like perm bans anyway, like Greg's was supposed to be.

wow truly useless thread! you REALY have nothin to do better than change a stupid phrase he?

Well, you know, it would help if you didn't spam and flame? *reports*

Didn't I ban you a long time ago? neh...

I have a suggestion. I think we should be allowed to talk about banned members if it's perfectly OK with them.

And there you go guys, a member with a temp ban user title. XD
Yea, wishirulz had past warnings so a one week temp should do the trick.

The rule is there to more or less stop this from happening
Member1: Why was ... banned?
Staff: He was banned for flaming and spamming.
Member1: WHAT? Everyone flames and spams.
Member2: I agree with member1, you guys shouldn't ban over that when others do it.
Member3: You Staff just hated the guy, so you banned him for no reason.
Member4: Yeah, all of you are unfair, you'll let so and so slide but ban ..., that's really unfair.

And then the thread gets out of hand. I don't want that happening, and you know it will happen too.

We have a temp ban usergroup, but we almost never use it. It's just quicker and easier to stick them in the normal ban usergroup (the perm ban title).
But what about this guy?
And this one?
Are they just default titles or is it a different kind of ban?
EDIT: And this one

Something just doesn't seem right with that statement.

Excuse me for not wanting to show remorse for a member that screwed PC in a big way. He was a spammer and he cracked the accounts of a few staff memebers.

Both titles were changed after the ban. It's not another usergroup or something like that.

And that is? Go on, post what you're thinking.

Well if he screwed up PC like that, that's another story then o.o;; I just thought he was another member. Nevermind me then ._.

Er..I think it's covered by now (the topic of the thread is the title of the banned people, not the status...)
