So, i was brought up with first gen pokemon. Im only used to gameboy color w/ red blue yellow silver. But the nostalgia is great and brings me back. But im thinking of getting a game of some sort for ps4 or whatever else they have now. I like how i saw the graphics nowadays make color look stone age. So, question is, im looking to play with 1st gen pokemon mostly with something thats similar to gameboy but on tv?

Hello 90skid11, and welcome to the forums!
It is great to see long time fans of Pokémon join PokéCommunity! I started with the first generation too! Which of the first generation's starters is your favourite ? Mine is and has always been Charizard (number one top favourite Pokémon ever since)!
About playing a game on TV with first generation Pokémon though, I am not sure how I could help, sorry.

    Hello!

1st gen Pokemon only on a TV... with the Switch being able to be hooked up to a TV that sounds like Let's Go Pikachu Eevee... but those play quite differently from regular Pokemon games however so I'm not sure I'd recommend it if you're looking for something more familiar. The biggest difference being the Let's Go catching mechanic which means there's no battles against regular wild Pokemon. There's still battles against trainers though.

I'm honestly not sure there's any other options amongst the official games. The other options for playing Kanto are either FireRed/LeafGreen (on the GBA, so not on the TV) or HeartGold/SoulSilver as the Johto games are basically 2 regions (which is on the DS, so also not on the TV). There was als RBY and GSC virtual console versions for the 3DS, but those are no longer available as the 3DS Eshop is down (and would also be not on a TV =P).... so yeah.

Hello and welcome to the PC!

Sadly I can't think of anything to help answer your question, but hopefully you find something soon!

Do you have a favorite Pokemon typing?
