    I signed up yesterday. My name's Arnold, I've been obsessed with Pokemon ever since I found a whole stack of Trading Cards randomly lying around in my house (I think a family friend gave it to us because her daughter didn't want them). I was intrigued by these fascinating creatures so I looked them up on the internet. That led me to playing Pokemon Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Emerald, Diamond and HeartGold.

    I recently bought Pokemon White about 4 days ago -Yes, a bit late, I've been neglecting my Pokemon life for the past two years due to demands in my schoolwork, and the fact that I thought my DS was unable to connect to my house's WiFi Network so I found it boring. I have 2 Gym Badges so far. I actually wanted Black but my secondhand store didn't have any and I desperately wanted to catch up.

    I'm currently looking for battles in HeartGold; I can't really do Level 100 stuff, I don't have any Level 100 Pokemon, I presume a lot of people have that. I guess I can only do like, under Level 70. I'm also open to trades. I'm also looking for battles in White but Levels 1-30 if you don't mind?

    Please PM me if anyone's interested. :)

    Arnold, welcome! It's interesting that it all started with the TCG for you. I mean I liked that bit of the franchise back then, but I had other things introduce me to it like the anime and the games themselves. Also you seem to have discovered it at a relatively late period in time! At least you actually got into it still, that's what's important. Pretty cool that we went through pretty much the same path with the games though! Only difference is Blue, Silver (which I didn't bother playing haha), FireRed and Ruby. You should definitely play FireRed when you get the chance, it's awesome.

    And you seem to have gotten White, too! Even though you originally wanted Black, but yeah this makes us even more similar because I got White too (plus Lilligant is native to White so yeah). :D Don't worry about being late, haha. It's only natural to prioritize schoolwork and stuff like that. I'm looking forward to hearing what you'll think about it after beating it though! In the meantime you should frequent our Black and White forum because I'm sure it will love the activity that you'll bring. We have sections for every game in fact, some are combined into one section but still you're free to open discussions with whatever part of the franchise that you desire. :)

    Oh by the way if you'd like a Quick Battle then this would be a good place to post in: the Quick Battle Thread! And if by any chance you're also a huge fan of competitive battling, you could go check out our Showdown server and get to know a lot of people immediately, even as a new member. ;D But yeah, it's up to you. The Battle Center also has sections for in-game non-competitive stuff so if you feel that's more of your thing then I digress, haha.

    Make it a point to read each rule thread that you can find, by the way! Just to keep yourself out of trouble. Also wouldn't hurt to message a staff member if you need any help in a particular section of the forums, because they'll be happy to offer you assistance. In any case, welcome aboard, Arnold! Kick back and relax, have fun, chat along and post some. :)

    Hey there Arnold and a huge welcome to our community! Pleasure to meet you. :D

    That's a pretty fascinating way to get into Pokemon to be honest! I used to be really obsessed with collecting the cards as a kid but now I mostly look at 'em for the pretty pictures and not to actually play the trading card game, haha. Never too late to get into the franchise or try any games regardless of how old they are though, and White/Black were pretty great games. <3

    Totally know what you mean when it comes to WiFi though, I don't even have wireless internet so I'm stuck trying to connect via a Nintendo WiFi Connector and it... isn't fun, ugh. But Pokemon's pretty addicting even outside the WiFi aspect. Glad you're enjoying playing so far and good luck with getting the rest of the badges and beating the E4. :D B/W are pretty different compared to all the main series games that came before them so that makes it much more fun to play. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Is there a Pokemon game you consider your favorite? Tried any of the spin-offs like Mystery Dungeon or Ranger, out of curiosity, or do you mostly only play the main series games?

    And oh, so you're a battler! I recommend the Battle Center as well, as Cid has already linked you to, so definitely check that out if you're interested in battling some of the members here. Just make sure to read the rule threads of both the main forum and each section you plan on posting in to see what you can and can't post. But I'm sure you know that already~ Wish I could battle you, buuut the aforementioned reasons make it kinda hard. ;_;

    So anyway, have a great time, happy holidays, and see you around!

    Thank you so much Cid and Cirno for a warm welcome! Yeah, I found the cards when I was 7 (I just recently turned 16 now, Pokemon's become a huge part of my life!) and I just so happened to find a TCG PC game in some car boot sale not long after (actually, I'm not sure, did I already own this CD without realizing it?). But when I was 8, me and a few other boys triggered a TCG craze in school. Everyone suddenly came in with stacks of cards to show off and trade and not actually play. Some boy in Year 6 stole all my cards at the time and now I only have like 10 left which didn't originally belong to me but I randomly found or was kindly given to me in the following years later. I signed up for TCG online in Pokemon.com earlier this year because I missed playing the trading card game. I haven't actually gone back to this online TCG since August.

    @Cid I have actually played that, I used to have a best friend when I was 8 who had both FireRed and LeafGreen and I got to play some of that and link with him as I went to his house sometimes. I also have a friend right now who brought her Gameboy Advance SP several weeks ago in school to play LeafGreen, I got really happy whenever she let me level up her Pokemon as she only just restarted. More recently, she's been bringing her DSi and White 2 in and I'd level up her team as she is about to face the Elite Four. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Kanto games. I understand that it's the original and, you know how people sometimes say respect the originals... I don't really like the aesthetics of Gen 1 Pokemon. @Cirno My personal favourite are the 2nd Generation handheld games - which is why I got the HeartGold remake.I was actually primarily going to pick SoulSilver because I'm not much of a Ho-oh fan; but I changed my mind when I found out HeartGold had more exclusive Pokemon. And yes, I've played Blue Mystery Dungeon and the first Pokemon Ranger, I finished both (actually, I don't know about Pokemon Ranger, I can't remember).

    I actually went to the Battle Center and Quick Battle threads immediately after I signed up yesterday. No one's challenged me yet...

    Me? A battler? I don't know if I could officially call myself that. I guess I'm on the path of a battler? I mean, I've only recently fully understood what EV Training is and I've only recently started training specific Pokemon I'm preparing for battles with other people. I've fully EV trained a Dunsparce in HeartGold (I like going for unexpected, strange Pokemon); just today, I finished maximizing my Audino's HP despite the fact I'm still in the early stages of the game. I just want to show others my efforts in these Pokemon and test them out in real battles, you know? Considering the fact that I'm still early in the game in White, I guess I'm still underprepared for battling... Sorry I made the reasons so hard Cirno! (No wonder no one's challenged me yet!) Just wondering, what rules would you be okay playing in?

    Thanks again guys for this warm welcome!
