Hey its Raonak/Darkdoom3000 you may remember me,
I made Pokemon Illusion back in the day.
anyways here's
my new project

Super Pokemon Eevee Edition (SPEE)

Just started making this after HG/SS reignited
my passion for rpgmaker.
Yeah, I'm using RPG Maker 2003.
Read my sig if you want a reason.

But yeah. Just started it.
I decided to go use the GSC graphics,
because of nostalgia or something. And hey, It's something diffrent.
and its got a storyline that explains the graphics.

Why is it named Eevee edition you ask?
well, because you obtain an eevee, who has the ability to evolve, and de-evolve at will (more or less)
at the start of the game you have access to 3 forms, (eevee, vaporeon and jolteon)
and along the way to obtain more forms. (flareon, espeon, umbreon, leafeon and glaceon are in this game)

You gotta wonder, do even the offical pokemon games
have more than 3 paragraphs worth of story?
Odd rule, but whatever.

Semi finalized Story::

Spoiler:

You are a normal 16 year old kid (10 y/o seems a waaay to young to leave home. on a crazy quest) who lives in a normal town.
Anyways, Oak's crazy experimentation have given you a super eevee.
It can evolve and de-evolve with an item called a "Tetra Element".
Different tetra pieces will allow it to evolve into a different form.

You've got an awesome form changing Eevee, and gotten your
first gym badge, life couldn't be better in the pixelated world...

News travels about new Pokemon that are appearing.
Just like what happened a few years ago...
with the RBY to GSC generation jump.
Where an extra 100 Pokemon were added and
the world map was expanded while the graphics were the same.

Everyone is excited that a new generation is approaching.

On your way to the second gym, you find a random portal...
a portal, showing a new world, where graphics have been updated,
you see a new updated version of your home town. how puzzling

An entity called "M" talks to you. explains that a new generation is coming.
Not only is the Pokemon count increasing, but the system is getting a graphical overhaul.
meaning everything that currently exists will be wiped out and redone, meaning the death
of thousands of people who live in the second generation.

In one month the world will be wiped out.
In one month judgment day will start
In one month... you will have to be everyone's savior.

heres some of my earlier plots that were thrown out the window.

Plot A

Spoiler:

It's the year 2021 Nintendo have destroyed the world with their
casual gaming nonsense.
but one dude from the future decides to go back in time to 2001
and kill Nintendo.

His actions cause an alternate universe where Nintendo died
after GSC, where Pokemon RSE never got created,
where the only 251 Pokemon were created,
where the "Pokemon" fell into the public domain.

From that one dude decided to make a fan game.

Story B

Spoiler:

You live in Aurum Town, the professor is a hard a** and
wont give you a Pokemon.
One day a kid runs out from the creek and tells tales
of a giant monster lurking in the creek.

Armed with no Pokemon you decide to investigate.
Random sh!t happens.
You are given an Eevee who has the ability
to evolve and de-evolve at will (more or less)

Go get badges, go defeat team rocket, yay...
game completed?

Campain C

Spoiler:

Gru, Man electrican winrar decides to settle down in nayborhood.
Lola gets kidnapped my Dr. Chickenman. You leave Kakaku's castle
to chase chickenman.

Along the way to lola. you find gru frends. who help gru
rescue lola.

Actually I liked Campain C. so i decided to make it into a minigame.

Basically pokemon shoved into an RPG frame.

~130 Pokemon. To keep in with the theme, and my laziness, only 130
Pokemon from gen 1 and 2.
-4 Pokemon per party.
-All Pokemon out in battle. Yeah. all 4 of your Pokemon vs
the enemy team

-Active Battle System. A la Final fantasy (well, most before X)
-Infinite Movelist. Pokemon can learn as much attacks as they want.
-No more HM's. In a way. EG: HM1 Cut replaced by Chainsaw.
-DMs. Direct Machines. Each contain a move,
Like TMs but used in battle to do a one time attack,
regardless of what Pokemon uses it.

-Refining System. More on it below
-Equipment
-Super Eevee
-Trophies (if you have a Ps3/360 then you know this)
-Active Evolution. Enemy pokemon can now evolve mid battle making things more intense.

-Super Gru minigame.
-No more pokeballs!

Spoiler:

You cannot capture wild pokemon anymore.
You get them via the storyline or sidequests.
Why? because the the wild Pokemon protection origination
(WPPO) wants more rights for the wild critters.
forced into a life of animal fighting.
Another reason could be cause Nintendo died
meaning no-one can make pokeballs anymore!

real reason is because i dont want to program all
the pokemon. theres so many pokemon that no-one uses.
Also, it makes it more flexable,
I can put more wild pokemon in common grass.
Squirtles by the lake, etc etc. (sorta like the anime in a way.
That reminds me, new naruto manga out today.)

In SPEE, upon defeating a Pokemon, there's a chance (usually 50%)
that they'll drop an item. The item is useless on its own.
You can't even sell it for much.
That's where the refining system comes in.
You turn the useless item into a useful one.
(If you've played FF8 then you know it)

EG:

Rattatas drop "Rodent Fangs"/
Caterpies drop "spider webs". etc.

5 Shell peices refine to 1 Turtle Shell (increases defence)
20x Turtle shells > 1x Giant Shell (increases water resistance)
1x Turtle Shell > 1x DM- Harden
2x Turtle Shells > 1x Damp Body (25% Burn Resistance)
5x DM Harden > 1x DM- Iron Defence
20x DM Harden > 1x TM- Harden (GASP!)
10x Rodent Fangs > 1x DM- Hyper Fang
10x Sharp Beak > 1x DM- Drill Peck
2x Spider Web > 1x DM- String Shot
10x Crab Claw > 1x DM- Crab Hammer
10x Spider Web > 1x Netting

"Super Pokemon Eevee Edition"! The project was nameless for quite
a while, honestly, I just finialized the name and made
the title screen today.

pokemon game edition, 2 gens ago these graphics would have been ok,
pokemon Y2k edition, Pokemon evolution, Pokemon Tetra Evolution,
Pokemon Retro Evolution, Pokemon Infinity,
Pokemon Eon, Pokeon, Eevee's Revenge,

I settled on Pokemon Eevee Version but Eevee edition is
far easier to say than "eevee version".
So " Pokemon Eevee Edition" problem was the acronym
became PEE.
So i added a Super to the front = SPEE.

I love it! Keep it up! I'll be watching this project, and the Evve de-evolving and re-evolving is something I've always wanted to implement in a game, nice work =)

I came into the thread with slightly lowered expectations, but ended up pleasantly surprised. =D The game looks like fun, although I'd work on your HUD a bit, especially for the battles. You can make it tidier, less empty space, etc while still using GSC graphics.

You've got me interested. Keep going!

thanks for the support, Im just trying something different.

Most of the tiles were ripped from G/S/C, recolored tho
(the colours were... really bland in the emulator)

anyways status update.
- Refining has been moved to the PC in the poke center.

-Still updating the amount of refining options.
right now its somewhat small.


-Man-Man 2000 Pocket System. Its a new "Minigame" that ive made.
Its.. sorta like a virtual pet, meaning it runs realtime,
but you dont need to feed it or anything,
Its entirely automated meaning you can leave it on,
while you go train pokemon, get badges etc.

You "Play" as Gru, the electrican. who goes on a journey to save lola.
theres 3 plases,
Battle- where Gru will fight a monster,
Gru has 1 of 3 attacks,
Punch (low damage),
Wrench (high damage),
Electric blast (super damage!)
Its entirely automated, so gru will do an attack, then the enemy will attack.
If the enemy kills gru, he will have go into his Resting Phase,
where he will rest for a minute. before continuing on his journey.
If Gru kills the monster, he will gain some EXP.

Food- Gru finds food. recovers HP fully.

Item- Gru will find an item, this is the main thing about the minigame.
The item will either be A,B,C or D, A being rare, while D being common.

Important thing is... You can then "Export" the items to the actual Pokemon Game.
D will give you common junk items (which are good for refining) EG: rodent fangs, shear feathers, green seeds, potions, antidotes.
While A will give you Rare Items and Equipment. Like permanent stat increasing items (HP up, Atk up etc.)
the cross compatibility doesnt just stop there!
Any EXP gru gets, your team will get too!
Also, healing via poke center, will also heal gru!

The great thing, is that is all automated!
Meaning you can spend 20 minutes training pokemon,
and when you go check back, you might have a bunch of awesome items.
or you might just end up with nothing. who knows.

you can Press "4" to view whats happening in the game. (active mode).

Nobody predicted it. Nobody thought it was gonna happen.
Nintendo is going to destroy the whole world,
and replace it with a new, advanced world.
Thousands (Hundreds?) of innocent NPCs will die.

The world is going to be reset in one month.
And you, being the Hero are the only one who can stop it.

Gru has nothing to do with the actual storyline, hes just in a minigame. so you dont have to worry about stupid stuff like gru or Dr. chickenman in the actual game.

UPDATE 19/2/10

A semi new feature. Active Evolution. Enemy pokemon have the ability to evolve mid battle.

imagine youre fighting a metapod... ya know. easy. All its doing is harden itself. you've shaved off half its hp. then all of a sudden. It evolves into a butterfree. and kicks your a$$.

Not all pokemon will active evolve.

Not only is it for cool factors, but evolved Pokemon drop better items.

Yeah, more storyline stuff completed. when wondering the forest, you see weird pixelated stuff. One of them actually attacks you. After defeating it you get sent to the "otherworld". A mess of tiles at first, but you find its a recreation of your home town.

Speaking to a entity called M, reveals that A new generation is comming, and thus, the destruction of the generation 2 world.

M will then teleport you back to the second generation, to await "Further Instructions"
Once you are back, new pokemon appear all over the world. one of the signs of a new generation

Finally ripped the Oak sprite!! yay, the old man placeholder is gone. Im actually starting to miss him...

Currently doing:
-Mapping
-adding a corrupted golem event, It's a totally optional sidequest, a corrupted golem is in a cave terrorizing hikers. anyway you can go deep into the cave to fight it. Corrupted pokemon are diffrent coloured pokemon, which have red eyes, have no visible Level, are usually strong, and can have attacks they dont normally learn. Basically they act as Traditional boss monsters. Anyways, if you enter the battle, you'll fight a bluish graveler. after shaving off half its HP, it will evolve into a Golem which will give it a big stat increase.
Actually defeating the golem (with your eevee on vaporeon mode i hope) the golem will de-evolve into a geodude, who will join your party. yay.
-Fixing some evolution quirks. (not eevee related, eevee uses a diffrent system process than other pokemon, )

Finally! A reasonable and logical use for M! The whole "it's a Virus Pokémon" was always a terrible idea, but having it be spawned from the incompatibilities between two Generations... Brilliant.

And it doesn't even need to be a Pokémon here. It could be a person caught in the corruption, which is why it can talk. The one you battle before being sent to the Other World can be a glitched Pokémon, different to M.

Man, I was just reading through here. The idea is brilliant. I love how M is the product of two different generations, and changing the world, like glitch city. I also love how this is Gen II specific, I haven't seen that in a while. Keep up the amazing work, and I will anticipate the next update.

Originally, pokeballs were going to be banned.
which is why you have to get pokemon via quests and stuff.
But, I thought it would be better,
if pokeballs acted as they did in the normal games,
Except, whenever you go to a mart, theyre out of stock.
It's gonna be a running joke.
Everytime a character tries to give you one, something occurs.
maybe the ball is broken, or a Pokemon steals it, etc.

Im trying to make it so your eevee will always follow you, like pokemon yellow. hopefully i get it working.
EDIT: Screw it. its just too hard getting it to follow you properly through each map.

SECOND EDIT:

RPG maker lets you have diffrent battle system setups. im using the traditional currently, but
im probably going to switch to alternative, due to auto battle mode.

heres the upsides of each.

Traditional
. Shows enemy name

Alternative
. Shows MP (PP) next to HP
. Allows you to pause in battle
. Allows auto battling. just select auto, then your pokemon will attack without instructions.

You wont be able to see enemy name nor level. which isnt much of a downside because
you cant catch wild pokemon anyway.

:D I love this game so much!! The story idea is fantastic - You don't normally see such ingenuity in a Pokemon storyline <3 - and I love how you came up with a workable [and pretty cool!] idea for evolving up and down the line with Eevee.

Using the GSC stuff is also an awesome idea ^`^ It's nice to see something different! I still like to play the old Gen1/2 stuff, not much into Gen3, I liked FRLG though [Maybe 'cos it was Gen1 all over again xD] and while I love my SoulSilver thinking about putting SS graphics into this game...nooo! It just wouldn't work as well as this does! :D

D: Unfortunately I can't see to get the download to work..I mean it starts and everything but I've tried a few of times now and it always gets stuck at 6.4mb downloaded :/
Do you have any idea why it does this? >.< Also, could you maybe, if it's not too much of a bother[feel free to say no! 0.0;] could you maybe email it to me or...something 'x3

I really wanna try this game, even if it is just a 2-town demo!
