Name: Gin Tokoma
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Personality: Gin is an enigma wrapped in a mystery. He possesses an IQ of 170. He rarely speaks, and always acts to his own best interests. He cares little for others, and usually gives little thought to the plights and suffering of other people. His motivations, like nearly every other aspect of him, is a mystery to others.
The truth is that Gin is a member of Sylviar Training Corporation, a top-secret Sinnoh governmental agency dedicated to unlocking the "true potential" of Pokémon. He trains his Pokémon constantly. Although he appears cold and unfeeling to others, he in fact wishes only to see Pokémon realize the full extent of their power; he takes great pleasure in pushing an otherwise weak Pokémon to never-before-thought-of levels of power. He avoids forming emotional bonds with his Pokémon; for, as a member of STC, his Pokémon will be taken from him and reassigned to other governmental agencies when his superiors feel he has trained them to their peak. Over the course of his career, he has trained over 100 Pokémon to incredible levels.
He has no desire to become a standard trainer. Although he is assigned Pokémon, he occasionally considers capturing wild Pokémon. He cannot, however, as doing so is not permitted by his job.
He often acts hostile and antagonistic towards others, pointing out their faults and errors, but he only does this to get them to push themselves and improve. Although this often causes others to dislike him, he cares nothing for others' perceptions of him. He has extreme patience and is very slow to anger; however, when he IS angered, he can be a force to be reckoned with.
He is actually somewhat compassionate, especially towards children, though he never shows it in front of others.
He is very calm and in control; he never panics, even in otherwise hopeless situations. Although he is quick to ensure his own survival and well-being, he pushes others to find their own means of survival, in order to make themselves stronger.
He works with other humans when necessary, but otherwise avoids any real interaction with them. He is tolerant of many things, and is only moderately annoyed by such things as childishness and laziness. However, the one thing that he absolutely cannot stand is complete apathy; he believes that to be completely indifferent to everything is no better than being dead.
Appearance: Short, whitish hair with dark, heavy eyes. His face is strong and prominent, with numerous creases in his face. He rarely smiles. He has a somewhat light skin tone, though he does tan occasionally. He is tall and well-built, and tends to train himself as well as his Pokémon, making him very fit physically despite his age. This gives him an imposing presence. He typically wears a formal gray suit and pressed gray pants; if he does wear casual clothes, no one has ever seen him as such. He wears a black tie, and has a belt with several poke balls on it. He walks with a degree of determination, and his infamous "stare" can intimidate even the toughest of people. He usually keeps his arms behind his back or in his pockets.
To get a good picture of him, picture a proud naval admiral standing on the deck of his flagship, staring with pride at his fleet. This is much the same stance Gin takes when watching his "pupils" battle and train.
Bio: Born into a well-to-do family, Gin was raised on the motto of "excellence in all things." He flew through his schooling at a frightening level, and, with his father's influence, gained a prominent governmental internship. Though he was well-paid and respected, he felt unfulfilled by this simple desk job.
Then, as part of a department recreational program, every member of the department, including Gin, was given a low-level Pokémon to train in preparation for a tournament. Gin felt a degree of satisfaction in training the Riolu assigned to him, and come tournament day, he dominated every adversary.
In actuality, the program was a recruitment effort for members of the newly-created STC. Gin was asked to join and, recalling the sense of fulfillment he got from training the Riolu, accepted.
He quickly gained a name as the star of the STC. Regardless of the Pokémon in question, none could match him; the speed and efficiency as well as the end results of his training earned him fame within the government's secret departments. He quickly became one of the most famous individuals no one's ever heard of.
Over the next several years, he trained over 100 Pokémon to unprecedented levels. He takes great pride in his work. However, recently he has begun feeling a sense of longing for something more.
His greatest claim to fame is secretly training a Pokémon for the leader of the Sinnoh government (I have no idea if Sinnoh is a democracy, monarchy, or what.)
He is en route to Johto to rendezvous with a member of a similar organization there, for diplomatic purposes.
