In R/S/E a Hm called Dive was introduced, this particular Hm allowed you to dive down the depths of the ocean, however it could only be used on Dark Patches of water... certain Pokemon could only be found by using Dive. To continue the story, Dive had to be used and to unlock the Regi trio, Dive once again had to be used.

So; What did you think of this new Technique, and do you think it should of been used more/less

Note; this is mainly a topic on the moves uses, and how it could of been made differently, this isn't a topic about how strong it is no "hurr two-turn attack easy set-up"

Great for exploring, but for battle, lol. It was a Water-type Dig. There are better water moves out there, but the concept of diving below the sea was just amazing. I love that they brought it back in BW.

They need to bring this back in the next generation, it was fun, but I could never tell where I was underwater without a guide.

If your post means that you only know Dive as being used outside of battle in Hoenn, then you must be reminded that it is used in Unova, and if not, then I agree with you.

at first I didn't like the feature of dive, but after doing it in Unova, (even though they were cheap with the spots this region) for some odd reason, I just happen to love Dive even more.

Whirlpool. Far as I know, the only move to clobber a Dive user on being underwater.

My Dive users in Hoenn GBA have typically been Wailmer, Relicanth, and a Smeargle. Using a Sweet Scent user is another action I take underwater as a result of stupid slow movement.

Love the bubbles that show up on diving through the seaweed. Best friend swore that those were Pokemon fart bubbles...

I usually used Dive on other HM slaves really, as it was weaker than surf and all, or nowadays waterfall (but with Unova's currently limited dive spot it still goes on a HM slave anyway).

In RSE it was a great move though as it allowed one to explore many places and acquire many items as well - one of the more enjoyable HM moves imo.

I remember the first time I had to use Dive in R/S/E and I was like wow this is a pretty cool HM. I'm glad I got to relive that feeling with B/W having them bring it back was a great thing imo.

Not a big fan of Dive... it just seems so unrealistic... you're going underwater clinging onto a Pokemon... not only are you getting completely drenched, how do you breathe if you're down there for an extended.

It's just another Water HM that's a poor man's Surf, and I don't like using it. Cool underwater music, though.

I wasn't that big a fan of Dive, probably because the Dive areas are chewed up and so far flung out. The biggest Dive areas were from Mossdeep to the Underwater Cavern and the area around Sootopolis.

I don't count that as a good enough use of the dive HM I need far more places to explore, like in Hoenn.

As stated before, I found Dive's music to be catchy, and I occasionally hummed it when I wasnt playing the game, lol.. I also hated the fact that Dive wasnt an HM in Gen IV as when I migrated a Pokemon from Gen III into Gen IV, I found the use of Dive good for defence inside of battle.. at least its an HM in Gen V though :D

I thought dive was pretty cool. I never really had a problem finding stuff underwater, so I thought it was fun.

I was kinda annoyed about how long it takes to encounter pokemon down in the seaweed, though.

I didn't really like cause I always got lost but yeah it was pretty kewl ^^

I liked Dive for exploring. It added an underwater world to explore, and it was exciting for me. Also, it added a Pokéball that's not in use anymore, lol. I like that they brought it back in BW.

while the idea of diving underwater was cool, it just became another "cut type" of a move; it was mediocre at best in battles.

Dive is okay for in-game gimmicks involving Walrein and Toxic.

Surf damages underwater Pokemon too ;)
But don't ask why Muddy Water, Twister, Earthquake, etc don't.
