Note that I spent a very long time tonight trying to find a good working ROM, so this update is shorter than I meant it to be. :(

Christmas in Unova
Part 1: The Gift

So I start up my game, and immediately get thrown into the basic explanation of what Pokemon is and why I should care about them as my friends and not as battling creatures.

Did anyone else notice she kinda looks like a skinnier Mrs. Claus? Connections...

So then she asks me for my gender, I went with girl because I'm a girl and I feel weird playing someone other than my own gender. Took me a little bit to come up with a name (MrsClaus was too long and so was MaryChristmas), but in the end I came up with:

Thought of the name because I had a friend when I was in high school who was named Noelle because she was born on Christmas Day.

Juniper introduced me to my best friends (who I've supposedly known for years but also just met now). THEN SHE GIVES ME A CHRISTMAS PRESENT OMG.

Of course, as the most awesome of the characters, I get to open the present because opening it is the most fun. Despite the lack of visible airholes, there are Pokemon inside! It happened to get delivered to my house so I get to pick which one I'd like first. I pick out my cute little Snivy and then get to fight Bianca and Cheren. Of course I whoop their butts (is there anyone who loses on the first fight?). My mom cleans up my room for me. Typical Christmas, parents doing all the work while the kids go out and play.

I'm blocked off from the lab for now so I go visit silly Bianca and get to see her parents tell her she can't be a trainer. So sad. So she runs out with me and goes to the lab, where I meet them and go inside. I finally get the chance to nickname my Snivy.

Juniper gives us the regular spiel of "catch all the Pokemon for me!". I'm assuming it's because it's Christmas and she's going to give the Pokemon to deserving children. She then leads us out to Route 1 and shows us how to catch Pokemon, and gives us Poke Balls. I decide from then on that I'm only going to use Poke Balls, because look at them! They look so much more like Christmas than any other ball!

So I know the first gym is going to be tough without that Panpour that I didn't account for so I decided to do a bit of grinding on Route 1 until I felt I was high enough level or got bored. I also gave Garland a Potion to hold because that was all I had.

Garland thinks it's the worst gift ever. I'm sorry Garland ;;

So at that point I decided that was enough and moved on to tell Bianca and Cheren that I had failed the capture contest. Aww. Just then, I got a call from Professor Juniper that had all four of us in the conversation even though the three of us were all right next to each other:

I THINK SHE'S GOING TO SHOW US CHRISTMAS LIGHTS YOU GUYS

- I used Advance Trainer to make my starter Delibird
- Started up my game, and named myself Ragnia
- Met my rival and got my Delibird, Noel
- Grinded for a bit (up to level 7)
- Beat my rival in a 3 minute long battle (at 200%) because of Present
- Got mah pokeballz, Pokedex and running shoes
- I left the town and beat al the trainers on the route
- Grinded in the grass while looking for Ralts
- Finally got my female (Hooray! No crossdressing) Ralts, Yuki
- Talked to my daddeh and helped Wally
- Went to Rustboro
- Got Quick Claw and gave to Noel
- Went to Gym and beat Roxanne first try with an insane amount of crits
- Helped Devon guy and Mr. Briney ( I think that's right)

Christmas in Unova
Part 2: Clyde[sdales]

I left off last time with Juniper offering to show me...the Pokemon Center. Very fascinating stuff. Once she leaves though, it gets more interesting as...

My guess was some kind of parade, maybe an appearance from Deli Claus? Anyway I went over because I thought they'd have some free candy or hot chocolate, they usually do around Christmas. But instead it was Team Plasma and Ghetsis. (Note: my Christmas music station started playing a more ominous-sounding song as this scene started. I lold) So he finishes his speech and I met every fangirl's favorite character.

I bet it's short for Noel! Or...Nanta? Anyway I defeat him, he talks about hearing my Pokemon, you know the drill. He then leaves and I'm finally free to head to the next town. EXCEPT FOR ANOTHER GIFT

Man moms are the best around Christmas time. So now I can run! So I run to the next town, battling everything I can find along the way because I know I'm going to have trouble with the gym leader coming up. I stop and grind a bit as well. Then I get there and am directed to the trainer school, where I meet Cheren and he gives me a Christmas present...

Because I feel that Garland would be happier with a gift he can use instead of a gift he can't, I switched out his items.

Then afterwards I'm told to "go train in the Dreamyard". Fine by me Cilan, I'm not high enough level anyway. I go through the entire thing, go to the end, and:

It was hard, guys. I've never turned down a Christmas present before. BUT I NEEDED TO PUSH ONWARDS. Because I couldn't get into the Dreamyard yet I just went back to the route before it and began to grind my way up to 15 so I could stand a chance against Chili.

It took foreverrrr. I then went to the gym and met a Clydesdale!

He gave me a Fresh Water which came in handy later. Then I got to battle the gym trainers which got me one more level, that was nice. So it was me vs. Chili, him with two Pokemon and me with my Garland. Take 1:

I was so close! I decided to just take the experience I had earned and try again, this time with the items I had gathered. This time...

I definitely thought it would take more tries than two tbh. He also gave me a Christmas gift of the TM for Work Up. Everyone here is just a regular Santa Claus! After I left the gym, Fennel caught me and forced me to go to the Dreamyard, where I ran into Team Plasma. Nothing particularly interesting happened here except...

I'm on my way up the ladder, kids. After that I went and got the C-Gear and learned about Amanita (what kind of name is that?), and that's the end of this update.

• Went through the Rowan intro stuff.
• Named myself Ozzy.
• Named my rival Johnny (after Johnny18).
• Chose Chimchar as my starter (The gifted team member) and named him Greg.
• Did the starting stuff and grinded to level 10, giving Greg a Pokeball to hold as his gift.
• Did the Pokétch stuff and got Hidden Power from the school.
• Beat Barry outside Jubilife very easily.
• Made it to Oreburgh whilst getting Rock Smash along the way.
• Found Roark in the mines and caught a Geodude as a HM slave (will go asap).
• Beat Roark easily with Mach Punch and got the badge.
• Headed back to Jubilife and gave Greg quick claw instead of his pokeball.
• Now waiting till tomorrow where I will welcome Kaori the Buizel as my next team member! <3
