"Fine" I sighed wearily, continuing "Before I healed you, I buried my own brother. Demonians killed him. After healing someone, a mage forms a connection with them, much like that of sibling to sibling. So you see, I don't think I could bear to lose someone I had such a bond with." After the rather succinct explanation, I closed my eyes and dropped my head, sure she would think me a fool. I was, of course, but I had issues with people knowing that.

"Demonians killed my whole family, and all my friends. They also destroyed my village. I understand.....", Rose said, forcing out a smile, though she felt as though she wanted to cry. Talking about how the demonians killed her family and friends, and how they left her with nothing always made her feel this way.

I looked up, cheered a bit that there were people like me though I knew it shouldn't be surprising. I managed to keep it off my face, though and said "I'm sorry. That must be aweful, I still have my parents left."

saphira left them alone. she walked away from them, off into the night. when she found a spot she thought was suitable, saphira sat down cross-legged and began to meditate. its the least i can do for..... tears began streaming through saphiras eyes. as a young child saphiras mother gave her life up for her....

"Im pretty much used to having no parents", Rose began. "They have been gone for 3 years now".

I grimaced and decided to bring up tomorrow, saying "This probably isn't the best time to bring this up, but I need to start for my home in Nessus tomorrow. My parents will need to hear of Laeric's death. Would you come? I'm sure they'd offer you a place to stay."

"Sure", Rose said respectfully. "Are you sure its okay if I come along?"

"Yep" I said brightly, relieved she'd agreed. "I'm more worried about myself to be honest" I added, hiding the fact that the comment was probably true.

"Why?" Rose asked him, and afterwards yawning.

Trying for a joking tone, I said "They never really agreed with Laeric's choice, they probably won't like that I buried him."

"Oh...", Rose began. "I'm sure you did what you thought was right..."

saphira had overheard the whole conversation. this was her chance. "uhhh... can i come?" she asked quietly, still siting on the ground.

I stretched and yawned. I wasn't used to going so long without sleep, but I managed to get "Yes and yes" out as I stood, looking for a good place to watch the sunrise.

"thanks."saphira replyed, her mind drifting elsewhere...

Rose smiled at the unfamiliar girl, and jumped onto the rock. The wind blew her hair, and she watched as the sun began to show itself.

saphira faced away from the sun. she liked the dark more, and didnt really know why...

I watched the dawn fyself from the top of the tree I'd fallen asleep against last night. "It's a bit of a trip" I said to the pair from the treetop. "Just so you know, I mean."

"thats alright." she replyed. "all my life i`ve been locked away here. the other priestests and priest used to aviod me and the master used to take me away from class for private lessons. she says im... different...."

"You'll fit right in back home, then" I said teasingly. "It's the largest city in the south, but it's a haven for anyone the north doesn't want.

"perfect..." saphira smiled, which was something she hadnt done in a while...
