    seems to me like a boring self-interested exercise to post there if your reason for doing so isn't to go out of your way to introduce others to music you think deserves sharing

    227805. Well, there's another reason people don't embed there: too many videos embedded makes the page take eons to load if for some reason your browser is still using the Flash player for YouTube.

    If I'm actively listening to something on YouTube when I post there, I'll share the link. If it's from my personal media collection, I tend to forget to link to it on somewhere like YouTube when posting there.
