The Adventures of Pokémon!

Welcome all trainers, to The Adventures of Pokémon, basically a posting challenge here on Pokémon Gaming Central where you'll be able to obtain all manner of pokémon, and all sorts of items! The posts you do here on Pokémon Gaming Central will also determine how well your pokémon will grow. There will also be some charming events where you can use the pokémon you obtained to do various things, mainly contest battles.


How to sign up:
To sign up, all you have to do is fill out the form here:

You can also choose one stater pokémon that you like. The starter pokémon can be one of these pokémon below:

Once you've gotten your starter, you'll also be given

50 Gems! Once that happens, you'll be recorded and all ready to go!

I'll provide an example on how signing up it should typically look:

What are these 'Gems?'
Gems are like the currency in this system. To obtain more Gems, all you have to do is post! For every post you do, you'll obtain

5 Gems. It's wise to save up on them, as you'll need to use these Gems to obtain new and rare pokémon!


Obtaining New Pokémon
Yes, as said, you'll be able to obtain other new Pokémon in this system through the usage of the Gems you collect. Ever so often there will be a scenario, or banner, where different Pokémon will appear. Here's an example below:

As you can see, there are focus pokémon in each banner or scenario, where there is a chance that you'll be able to obtain these rare pokémon that you wouldn't normally get anywhere else. There are also some common pokémon in each banner too, in case you don't get a rare pokémon.

Once you see a banner, it costs 5 Gems each to obtain a Pokémon from it, or you can use 50 Gems to obtain 10 Pokemon at once. So, to demonstrate, I'll obtain 3 pokémon from this banner right now, using 15 Gems:

A Pokémon that consists entirely of programming code. Capable of moving freely in cyberspace.

Meowth! (Red/Blue)

Adores circular objects. Wanders the streets on a nightly basis to look for dropped loose change.

Oddish! (Red/Blue)

During the day, it keeps its face buried in the ground. At night, it wanders around sowing its seeds.

Moveset:
~ Acid
~ Sleep Powder
~ Poison Powder
~ SolarBeam

Every time you use Gems to obtain new Pokémon, they'll get a random generated moveset, with four moves. There's a chance that it can get a powerful random TM move too. So, even if you get two of the same pokémon, they both can have completely different moves!

In addition, you'll be able to get similar pokémon with different sprites too, depending on the banner. Different sprite arts from each gen will be able to have moves from the respective gen it's from.

Can the Pokémon evolve?
Yup! To have one of your pokémon evolve, you'll just need to make 10 posts altogether here on the Past Generation board (or in other words, 10 posts for each pokémon that needs to evolve). That includes any evolution methods you can think of. Yes, at times, you'll get pokémon that have more than one evolution that it can evolve to, for example, Eevee can evolve into multiple pokémon, based on what stone you give it.

On that regard, you can choose which evolution the pokémon will evolve to! Like for instance, if you get said Eevee and you'd want it to evolve into a Jolteon, just mention that in your update post once you make your required 10 posts. Again, that's only for pokémon that has a branched evolution.

Once your Pokémon evolves, it can learn a new move that it could learn via level-up! However, if your pokémon has 4 moves already, you'll have to delete one of its older moves before learning its new move, or you can choose to obtain from learning a new move altogether.

Ribbons, Medals and other awards

Ribbons and Medals are the achievement system here. If you win a contest, or do something good overall in the Pokemon Gaming Central board, you can obtain one of these for your portfolio! There are a bunch of them to collect!

PokéShop - Items and TMs!

With your Gems, you can also get items and TMs by spending them here. All you have to do is say what kind of item you're getting on this thread. Just be sure you have enough Gems!

The PokéShop will steadily have increased inventory, so have a look out for new items coming in stock!

The list of participating trainers are listed here. To have an easy time searching, try using Ctrl+F and typing your username. All of your pokemon, items, achivements, and gems will be listed here.

If you want to review your pokémon's moveset, just hover your mouse over the pokémon of your choice. If you would like to release a pokémon in your storage, just state what pokémon you'll be releasing on this thread, and it will be removed from your portfolio here.
