ANP #016: Storm the Gale of Darkness!

(Cue OP-On Our Way-as the song plays, we see various shots of the Pokemon cast in the backstage area, getting ready for a show: Misty walks past one member of the lighting crew, making her trip and drop her paints, which color some of the notes on Brock's sheet music. He tries to clean the music, only to get walloped by a basketball in the face (thrown by May) Pikachu runs past all of this, down a hallway, and through a door with a star on it marked "Ash". He cries "Pika!" and points at a clock, which is ticking dangerously close to "Show Time!" Ash notices the time on the clock and ducks behind a screen to get ready, when he finishes, he's now decked out in a red top hat (with the same design as his cap) and tails. Ash then runs head on at the camera and makes a flying entrance onto a stage as the song concludes)

Female announcer: And now, it's time for the Ash and Pikachu Show!

(Pikachu climbs onto Ash's shoulder and smiles as the title card flies in from the right, a short clip of "On Our Way" in the background)

(Ash jogs onstage to greet the crowd)

Ash: Thank you! Tonight we want to feature a couple of trainers from the mysterious land of Orre...that saved it from becoming breeding grounds for Shadow Pokemon once again. (a picture of Shadow Lugia unfurls next to Ash, prompting some curious murmurs from the audience.) Rather than me telling you about their adventure, why not get the story from the Ponyta's mouth? So, join me in welcoming Michael and Jovi to the stage. (leads the applause as Michael, his Eevee and Jovi come onstage and sit down in a couple of chairs arranged in a semicircle.)

Jovi: Jovi is honored to be in the presence of her favorite TV star. (pets Eevee as she settles in her chair. Eevee jumps on Michael's lap)

Ash: Really?

Micheal: Yeah! It has the top rating on every channel; and EVERYONE and their Eevee watches it, even the reruns!

Eevee: Eev!

Ash: Is that so?

Jovi: Jovi has a lot of your merchandise...hats, (models her own AG hat), DVDs, (proudly displays a DVD; the cover of which reads "The Best of The Ash and Pikachu Show, Vol. 1"), plushie toys... (hugs a mini Ash plushie)

Ash: I get the idea....so how hard is it to snag Shadow Pok?mon, anyway?

Michael: Well, it depends on what kind of Pok?mon it is, if it is easy to catch in the wild it is easy to snag. On the other hand, if the Shadow Pok?mon is Legendary; it's really hard to snag.

Ash: And what did you use to snag the Shadow Lugia?

Michael: A Master Ball, natch. (mild laughter)

Ash: Okay, Jovi; it's your turn for a few questions...why do you like to bother Dr. Kaminko?

Jovi: Bother? Jovi thinks Jovi is just keeping Dr. Kaminko company. Also, Jovi likes to see what "useful" inventions Dr. Kaminko comes up with.

Ash: I see...dosen't that jumpy Chobin think you are a burglar? (a picture of the creature unfurls next to Ash)

Jovi: No, Chobin knows Jovi and lets Jovi in.

Ash: Okay Michael, back to you...I hear there is a new Pok?mon in Orre, what is it?

Michael: It's a baby tree pok?mon, it's called Bonsly. (he is about to elaborate on Bonsly when an odd thumping is heard backstage) What's that?

Ash: Beats me...anyway, is it true that wild pok?mon are back in Orre?

Michael: Yes, it is true, but they are shy. The only place to reach them are Pok?spots, using Pok?snacks.

(Before Michael can elaborate on this, the beginning to "Beautifly" is heard...and we see Brock is dressed in a Beautifly costume!)

Ash: What in the...

Brock: Ai-yai-yai,
Ai-yai-yai,
Ai-yai-yai,
Where's my samurai?

(music picks up as Brock starts to dance)

Brock: I've been searching for a man,
All across Japan,
Just to find, to find my samurai...
Someone who is strong, and just a little shy,
Yes I need, I need my samurai...

Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly!
Green, black, and blue; making colors in the sky!
Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly!
Green, black, and blue; making colors in the sky! (continues dancing as Ash sighs, embarrassed.)

Ash: Somebody cue the cartoon while I go get Misty...(Eevee hops up to the projector and starts it)

(CARTOON-"The Mystery is History!")

(Backstage-Michael and Jovi watch while Misty sets up the drawing board)

Jovi: Jovi finds it rude that Brock interrupted Jovi's interview with Ash.

Misty: Misty finds Brock's outbursts of song annoying...which makes him perfect comic fodder.

Michael: A comic, huh? (Eevee climbs on the drawing board to watch as Misty goes to work)

(On Our Way interlude plays as title card appears-'Back to the Drawing Board' with Misty". Misty's face appears in the o in "Board")

(A white screen appears, simulating a blank piece of paper)

(Brock is drawn on the screen in his normal clothes)

Misty(voiceover): Okay, gang...we'll make this comic's plot simple: Brock is thirsty and wants a drink. (the pencil draws a bottle of soda nearby Brock.) Only problem is: The soda inside made the cap stick to the bottle--so how is Brock going to get the soda open so he can quench his thirst?

Jovi(voiceover): Jovi knows Brock won't get it open by just twisting the cap like you're supposed to do. (Brock pulls at the cap with all his might, but the cap dosn't budge)

Michael(voiceover): Why not try a bottle opener? (the pencil draws a bottle opener. Brock tries to use it, but the cap is too large)

Jovi(voiceover): Jovi suggests using a pair of pliers. (the pencil draws a pair of pliers...but that doesn't work, either)

Michael(voiceover): Okay, time for the heavy artillery... (the pencil draws a jackhammer. When Brock attempts to use it, he winds up going though the floor instead!)

Jovi(voiceover): Or Brock could always shake the bottle and hope the fizz pops the cap off. (a lightbulb appears over Brock's head; after turning the lightbulb off, he shakes the soda bottle several times, which makes the cap pop off, spraying soda everywhere. Brock manages to catch some in a cup, which he drinks. The fizz in Brock's glass spells "The End"

(Backstage, Ash looks over at Misty's comic as she draws the last scene)

Ash: Now I'm thirsty...(he walks off towards a drink machine and inserts some coins)

(A few minutes later, Ash returns to the projector room with a drink)

Ash: Here's a cartoon for you guys while I enjoy my drink. (starts the projector and opens the soda can)

(CARTOON-"A Parent Trapped!")

(We join Ash, Michael, and Jovi onstage)

Ash: And now, here's a song from Brock and the band...(the spotlights come up on Brock and the house band)

Jovi: A song...Jovi likes Brock's singing...

Michael: Me too!

Brock: Maestro...

::guitar intro::

Brock: Hear the sounds of the sea, and the colors will change
Look on to the blue sky, reflect and muse on, yourself,
Memories will waken, and live once again!

Across the seven seas, I feel deep in my heart,

(Flattered by the applause, Brock immediately starts a blazing fast guitar solo as his encore, much to the delight of the audience)

Ash: While he's doing that... (starts the projector)

(CARTOON-"A Promise is a Promise!")

(We rejoin Ash, Michael, Jovi, Eevee, and Pikachu on the stage)

Ash: Well, we're about out of time.

Jovi: Jovi enjoyed being on the show! Jovi can't wait to see how everyone at home will react when they see us on TV!

Eevee: Vee!

Ash: Thank you both for coming...we'll see you next time!

Pikachu: Pika! (waves goodbye as the curtain closes. "On Our Way" reprise plays as the credits roll)

This is the first time that I have read something from the Ash & Pikachu Show and I must say it's pretty awesome.
I love it. It's very amusing and it really does make me laugh.
I really do like how you made Brock dress like a Beautifly and sing so many crazy songs. Keep up with the great work.

(the audience cheers as a spotlight appears at center stage...but no Ash. After a few tense seconds, a blue puff of smoke is seen, revealing Ash clad in his movie 8 costume, causing some curious murmurs to drift through the audience)

Ash: How's that for a flashy entrance? (applause) You're probably wondering why I look like I just stepped out of a Final Fantasy game...

(Ash is cut off by the Final Fantasy victory fanfare)

Ash(sarcastically): Ha, ha, I'm very amused. (laughter)

Misty: The sound crew's in a weird mood tonight...

Ash: I saw...anyway, tonight we want to focus on those very special Pokemon out there--the Legendaries. (a picture of Mew unfurls next to Ash)

Misty: Well, hurry and cast the spell for the first cartoon, Mr. Black Mage.

Ash: Okay...(he focuses his thoughts into his hands, forming a white light ball) Magical light, entertain this audience! Flicker! (at this, Ash aims the light ball at the screen, making it flicker like a projector. The screen goes black.

(CARTOON-"Entei At Your Own Risk!")

(Backstage-Misty is prepping the drawing board while May watches from nearby)

Misty: Ash makes a rather dashing black mage, if I say so myself...

May: I know, Rukario taught me white magic, Max learned time magic, and Brock learned summoning magic... (Misty listens intently as May recants her side of movie 8)

(Hours later, May concludes her tale)

May: ...and that's how Rukario taught us magic.

Misty: That's cool....and while I'm on the subject of Legendaries...(goes to work)

(On Our Way interlude plays as title card appears-'Back to the Drawing Board' with Misty". Misty's face appears in the o in "Board")

(A white screen appears, simulating a blank piece of paper)

(Brock is drawn on the screen in his normal clothes)

Misty(voiceover): How'd you like to have an encounter with a Legendary?

(the pencil draws a safari background, followed by a Raikou drinking from a water hole)

Brock: Nice Beastie... (The Raikou growls as Brock approaches) All right, I'm leaving! (retreats behind a tree as the Raikou resumes his drink)

Misty(voiceover): I challenge you to ride the Raikou! (the pencil draws a saddle blanket in Brock's hands)

Brock: Ride a Legendary Beast like a Ponyta? Impossible!

Misty(voiceover): Not in my world it isn't! Now, go ride him!

(Brock swallows hard as he slips the blanket on Raikou. Raikou purrs a bit--until he feels the weight of a human on his back. He roars and rears up, sending Brock flying into the water with a splash)

Misty(voiceover): Towel? (the pencil draws a towel on the ground)

Brock: Yes, thanks. (he takes the towel and dries off)

(We cut to the site of a tree-Brock lays a piece of meat under the tree, then climbs up to see if Raikou approaches)

(After a few minutes, Raikou does approach and nibbles on the meat--until he feels the weight of a human on him. Brock is sent flying into the water hole again, leaving him even more soaked)

Brock: Can I have another towel? (the pencil obliges) Thanks.

(Meanwhile Brock is back in the tree, waiting for Raikou to pass by. As Raikou runs under a low branch, Brock eases himself aboard the Beast. He's about to settle in and enjoy the ride--until he realizes he's headed for the water again!)

Misty: Need another towel?

Brock: Come to think of it, the water feels good...but at least I rode Raikou!

(he dives underwater, the resulting ripples spell "The End)

(We return to the theater, where Ash is preparing the projector for the next cartoon)

Ash: And now, for our next cartoon...

(Ash is cut off by a loud guitar strum. He whirls around to see Brock about to die of laughter)

Misty(offstage): I better not be hearing any music out there!

Brock(under his breath): I don't care what Misty don't allow, gonna play my guitar anyhow! (awkward silence, then Brock smiles coyly as he ponders what he said) SAY... (launches into a rousing intro)

Ash: Oh brother...

Brock: Misty don't allow no guitar playing here... (plays a bit)
Misty don't allow no guitar playing here... (plays a bit)
I don't care what Misty don't allow, gonna play my guitar anyhow!
Misty don't allow no guitar playing here!... (May peeks onstage, piqued by the noise)

May: What's going on?

Ash: Don't ask... (sighs as Brock continues, this time with a whistle)

Brock: Misty don't allow no whistle playing here... (plays a bit)
Misty don't allow no whistle playing here... (plays a bit)
I don't care what Misty don't allow, gonna play my whistle anyhow!
Misty don't allow no whistle playing here!...

(Frustrated, Ash covers his ears and starts toward the projector room. Brock just continues his song, this time with a fiddle)

Brock: Misty don't allow no fiddle playing here... (plays a bit)
Misty don't allow no fiddle playing here... (plays a bit)
I don't care what Misty don't allow, gonna play my fiddle anyhow!
Misty don't allow no fiddle playing here!...

(May is waiting for Ash in the projector room)

May: Any ideas on how to quiet him?

Ash: I have just the spell... (green smoke forms in his hands) Know the world of silence! Mute! (a flash of green light flies from Ash's hands and hits Brock, muting his song. He still continues to mouth the words and play various instruments, but there's no sound.)

May: That should do it! Here's the cartoon Ash promised...(starts the projector)

(CARTOON-"For Ho'oh the Bells Toll!")

(We rejoin Ash and Pikachu onstage. Misty is nearby, holding the still muted Brock down so he can't sing nor play his guitar)

Ash: Think I should use Esuna yet?

Misty: Go ahead, I have him held down so he can't sing.

Ash: Heavenly wind, carry us to the fountain of power! Esuna!

(a blue light surrounds Brock, unmuting him. Misty is quick to cover his mouth before he can sing.)

Misty: Quick! Say goodbye before he can break free!

Ash: Okay...thanks for coming, and see ya next time!

Pikachu: Pika! (quickly waves goodbye as the curtain closes. A sped up version of "On Our Way" plays as the credits roll twice as fast, as if in a hurry to finish. However, we see some movement behind the curtain after all the credits roll...and Brock steps out on the stage!)

Brock: Finally got away from Misty! Now, where was I...

(slow guitar chord)

Brock: Misty don't allow no guitar playing here... (plays a bit)
Misty don't allow no guitar playing here... (plays a bit)
I don't care what Misty don't allow, gonna play my guitar anyhow!
Misty don't allow no guitar playing here!... (the cane suddenly appears and yanks Brock offstage, guitar and all; finally bringing the show to an end.)

Ash: Thank you! Tonight, we're taking a look at those times when Pikachu and I have appeared on the silver screen...so go get yourself some popcorn and join me in our own little way of saying "Hooray for Hollywood!" (Before he can say any more, Pikachu appears carrying a video camera) Where'd you get the video camera?

Pikachu: Pika pi chu... (he points backstage) Pika pika pi pikachu...pika chu: 'Pika pi chu', pika Pikachu!

Ash: You're going to make a movie of your own? Well, good luck! Maybe you'll let the audience watch it?

Pikachu: Chu. (he hurries offstage, presumably to begin filming his movie)

Ash: And while we're on the subject of movies...I'm no stranger to Hollywood, seeing as we've made eight movies so far, with a ninth to begin filming soon. (enthusiastic cheers and applause. Misty enters with a reel of film.) What's that?

Misty: I think it's some video from the premiere of movie 8. (sticks the reel in the projector and starts it. After counting down "3...2...1..." the title "Premiere of the Wave Guiding Hero!" appears on the screen. We see various shots such as Rukario walking down the red carpet, Brock talking to the press, May signing autographs, and Ash and Pikachu leaving their handprints in some cement.)

Ash: Just as I thought...I wonder where they put the cement slab with our handprints in it?

Misty: You'll probably find out next summer when they premiere movie 9...that is if they use the same theater...(she stops the reel and ejects it, just as Pikachu re-enters with a reel of film.) What'cha got there, Pikachu?

Pikachu: Pi pika...pika chu? (he offers the reel to Misty)

Ash: You finished your movie already? That was quick... (he threads the reel into the projector and starts it. After counting down "3...2...1..." the title "Pikachu Studios presents: The Treasure of Alph" appears on the screen. The first shot shows what appears to be a jungle, but then the picture goes blurry, and we see an odd flipper in the middle of the shot.)

Misty: Why did you let Psyduck do the filming?

Pikachu: Pi pika! (On the screen, Pikachu (off camera) motions to Psyduck that his flipper's on the screen. Then the screen turns white and black and zooms out a few times, before we see an extreme close up of Psyduck's face. He says "Psy?" to the camera, to which Pikachu replies "Pika pi pika pika chu..." The audience laughs as the shot is reversed to show the jungle set, albeit a little foggy.

Ash: I think Psyduck isn't your best choice for a cinematographer, Pikachu....

Misty: I know, but this is hilarious! (On the screen, the camera looks over at Torchic playing the role of an explorer...and decides to zoom in on her until we get an extremely close up shot of her eye. The audience laughs as the expression in Torchic's eye turns angry, and utter pandemonium breaks out on the screen. All the laughter piques Brock, who peeks onstage to see what's making the audience laugh.)

Brock: What in the world is so funny?

Misty: Pikachu tried to make a movie and let Psyduck do the fliming....And we all know what happens when you let Psyduck film a movie....

Brock: So I see...(he turns the projector off, rewinds the reel, and gives it to Pikachu) I think you need to shoot another take--with someone that won't play with the camera!

Pikachu: Pika, Pipika. (he hurries offstage as Ash threads yet another reel into the projector)

Ash: Here's a few memorable scenes from our first time on the big screen... (starts the projector)

(CARTOON-"Mewtwo Strikes Back!" montage)

(Backstage, Misty watches Pikachu and co. film their movie as she preps the drawing board.)

Pikachu: Pika pika chu, pi chu; pi...pika! (Mudkip starts filming as Torchic, in the role of an explorer, meets Treecko, playing the role of an elder. May giggles as the scene is shot.)

May: Pikachu's a natural director, isn't he?

Misty: He's doing a great job....which reminds me...(goes to work)

(On Our Way interlude plays as title card appears-'Back to the Drawing Board' with Misty". Misty's face appears in the o in "Board")

(A white screen appears, simulating a blank piece of paper)

(Brock is drawn on the screen in his normal clothes)

Brock: I wonder what it would be like as a director? (the pencil draws a beret on Brock before drawing a complete movie set, a director's chair, and a megaphone) Okay... (he sits down in the director's chair) Now I need some actors... (Pikachu, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and various other Pokemon are drawn on the set in medieval costumes)

Misty(voiceover): You should be set, so start filming!

Brock: Okay! Places! (the Pokemon hurry to their positions on the set) All right..."The Water Princess", take one...and, action! (The scene begins until Mudkip forgets a line) Cut! (to Mudkip) Your line is... (whispers the line to
Mudkip. Mudkip nods and hurries back to her place) Lights!

(some lights flicker on)

Brock: Camera!

Random cameraperson: Rolling!

Brock: And, Action! (the scene continues...)

Misty(voiceover): Having fun?

Brock: This is fun! (continues directing...the back of the director's chair reads "The End")

(Back onstage, Pikachu gives a second reel to Ash)

Ash: This is your revised movie; huh?

Pikachu: Chu! (loads the reel in the projector and starts it. After counting down "3...2...1..." the title "Pikachu Studios presents: The Treasure of Alph" appears on the screen. The jungle shot reappears, followed by Torchic and Squirtle walking across the screen. However, there's no sound or music.)

Ash: It would be a lot more interesting if we had some music to go with this.

Brock: I'll fix that! (settles at the grand piano and starts a catchy ragtime tune that amazingly matches the action on the screen, prompting the audience to clap along. Pikachu sighs with embarrassment.)

Pikachu: Pipika...pika pika pi pikachu pi...

Brock: Okay, I'll see if I can ask the house orchestra to play some music for your movie. (rewinds the reel and ejects it, then heads offstage)

Ash: While you're waiting, here's another movie montage. (loads another reel in the projector and starts it)

(CARTOON-"Pokemon Heroes" montage)

(Pikachu returns to the stage with his reel.)

Pikachu: Pi pika...pika chu. (loads the reel in the projector and starts it. After counting down "3...2...1..." the title "Pikachu Studios presents: The Treasure of Alph" appears on the screen. This time, the movie rolls cleanly, wihout any glitches and with music and sound.)

Ash: Great movie you made, Pikachu. (eats popcorn as Torchic meets up with the elder; played by Treecko)

Pikachu: Pika, Pikapi...pika chu pi chu. (watches as Torchic and Squirtle run to escape some Ariados)

Misty: You did a good job! (smiles as Torchic holds a gemstone over her head, with the Zelda 'got item' fanfare in the background. The last scene shows the museum curator; played by Charmander, thanks Torchic...Torchic winks as THE END flashes on the screen. The audience applauds. Flattered by the applause, Pikachu takes a bow.)

Ash: We have time for one more movie montage...(rewinds Pikachu's reel, then loads another reel and starts the projector)

(CARTOON-"Spell of the Unown" montage)

(We rejoin Ash and Pikachu on the stage)

Ash: How about one more round of applause for Pikachu? (leads the applause as Pikachu bows again) We're about ready to call tonight a wrap, so see you next time!

Pikachu: Pika! (waves goodbye)

Brock: And that's a wrap! (The curtain closes. "On Our Way" reprise plays as the credits roll)

I picked those three since they're the most talked about movies of the eight that have been released. (of them, I have seen Mewtwo Strikes Back)

(Cue OP-On Our Way-as the song plays, we see various shots of the Pokemon cast in the backstage area, getting ready for a show: Misty walks past one member of the lighting crew, making her trip and drop her paints, which color some of the notes on Brock's sheet music. He tries to clean the music, only to get walloped by a basketball in the face (thrown by May) Pikachu runs past all of this, down a hallway, and through a door with a star on it marked "Ash". He cries "Pika!" and points at a clock, which is ticking dangerously close to "Show Time!" Ash notices the time on the clock and ducks behind a screen to get ready, when he finishes, he's now decked out in a red top hat (with the same design as his cap) and tails. Ash then runs head on at the camera and makes a flying entrance onto a stage as the song concludes)

Female announcer: And now, it's time for the Ash and Pikachu Show!

(Pikachu climbs onto Ash's shoulder and smiles as the title card flies in from the right, a short clip of "On Our Way" in the background)

(Ash jogs out onstage to greet the crowd)

Ash: Thank you! Tonight's guest--

Misty: Sh! (whispering) We can't let Brock know that Officer Jenny's tonight's guest!

Ash: Okay...(motions offstage. Officer Jenny enters, to some light applause.) Just out of curiosity, why should we keep Jenny's guest star a secret?

Brock(offstage): Come to Papa, my lovely one!

(Before Officer Jenny can react, Brock races onstage, heart eyes and all. Jenny steps aside, making Brock miss his mark and crash into something backstage)

Jenny: That should keep Mr. Lovebird busy for a while...I had some video for you, but...

(A Growlithe enters, carrying a reel of film in his mouth)

Jenny: Thanks, Growlithe...you remembered the video! (threads reel into projector and starts it)

(CARTOON-Spinarak Attack!)

(Backstage, Officer Jenny and Growlithe watch as Misty preps the drawing board)

Misty: With my magic pencil, I can make anything happen to Brock that I want! (brandishes a pencil)

Jenny: This should be interesting... (She and Growlithe watch as Misty goes to work)

(On Our Way interlude plays as title card appears-'Back to the Drawing Board' with Misty". Misty's face appears in the o in "Board")

(A white screen appears, simulating a blank piece of paper)

(Brock is drawn on the screen in his normal clothes)

Brock: Okay, pencil...do your stuff. (the pencil draws a Dancing Star pad under Brock) Hey, Dancing Star! (he strikes a pose in preparation to dance)

Jenny(voiceover): Before doing any kind of exercise, you should stretch. (the pencil draws a stretchy band on the pad)

Brock: Okay, I'll give my legs a good stretch. (proceeds to stretch one leg, then the other.) There, all stretched!

Jenny(voiceover): Stretch your arms too!

Brock: Fine. (grabs the stretchy band and attempts to pull it, but it doesn't stretch very far.)

Jenny(voiceover): 1, 2, 3...stretch! (Brock pulls at the band, but it still doesn't go very far) 1, 2 ,3...stretch! (Brock pulls at the stretchy band with all his might, making it stretch quite a lot.)

Brock: Hey, I made it stretch! (No sooner does he say this, does the stretchy band snap back, sending Brock flying to the floor) Ow... (He eases himself to his feet and prepares to dance again)

Jenny(voicover): Be sure to keep your body hydrated with lots of water. (the pencil draws a water bottle. No sooner does Brock drink it down, another is drawn.)

Misty(voiceover): Drink up! (the pencil draws lots of water bottles, all of which Brock consumes)

Jenny(voiceover): Have some more! (a semi truck backs up, then dumps more water bottles on Brock...although he's sloshing and bloated, he consumes the bottles. He sloshes back into position to dance again.)

Misty(voiceover): I think you've had enough water. (the pencil draws a tack, which pops Brock, making the excess water drain out of him.)

Brock: Thanks...can I dance now?

Jenny(voiceover): I guess. (the Dancing Star pad comes to life with flashing lights and music. Brock begins to jump and step to the beat)

Brock: You've got to move it, feel the temperature!
Into the rhythm, let the fire burn!
So get into it, get into the trance!
This is the rhythm, of the tribal dance!
The tribal da-a-a-a-a-a-a-ance!

(The letters in "The End" appear among the swirling streams of rainbow arrows and arrange themselves in the center of the screen)

(Meanwhile, in the theater's air vent, Brock attempts to find the hidden entrance to the stage)

Brock: Now I know the secret trapdoor's here someplace...(he checks one trapdoor, making an offscreen girl scream.) Nope, that's not it. (he crawls along until he finds another door; he checks it only to get all scratched up) That's not it either...(he crawls some more until he finds another trapdoor. he steps on it and is carried up towards the stage.) THIS is it...

(Back onstage, Ash prepares to start another cartoon)

Ash: And now-- (the whir of the trapdoor gets his attention) Huh? Brock!

Misty: How'd he find the secret trapdoor?

Brock: I went through the air vent to find you, my lovely one! (attempts to glomp Jenny, but Jenny steps aside, letting Brock crash to the floor.)

Ash: You think that's bad...seeing him in this cartoon's even worse! (starts the projector.

(CARTOON-Ribbon Hood)

(We join Ash, Pikachu, and Jenny onstage)

Ash(whispering): Thanks for stopping by, Officer.

Jenny(whispering): My pleasure...so say goodbye before Lovebird finds me again.

Ash(whispering): See ya next time!

Pikachu(whispering): Pika! (waves goodbye as the curtain closes. A very quiet version of "On Our Way plays as the credits roll, but the curtain quickly reopens after all the credits run, allowing Brock to charge at the camera.)

Brock: My LOVELY one! (he crashes into the screen) Ow...(he slides off the screen and onto the floor to end the show.)

ANP #020: Chikorita Capers

Ash: Thank you! Tonight, we want to pay tribute to Johto's grassy star, Chikorita! (a picture of a Chikorita unfurls next to Ash) And what better way to kick things off by welcoming our favorite Chikorita to the stage...(the audience cheers, since they know what's coming next) Please welcome Peach and the Poketones! (leads the clapping as the drums and saxophone start playing. After a few seconds, the rest of the band joins in, and the lights come up on Peach and her crew as they dance to the music.)

Peach: Come on, everybody! Gather round! I want you guys to sing this song with me! Na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na, na na na, na na na na....

Lita: Peach could use some help over there!

Peach and Ariel: Na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na, na na na, na na na na....

Peach: You gotta know how to pony, like Bony Maronie,
The Hot Potato, do the Alligator...
Put your hands on your hips, let your back-bone slip...
Do the Watusi, like my little Lucy....

(at this point, all the instruments stop except for the drums)

Peach: Na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na, na na na, na na na na....

Ariel: Come on, Lita; give Peach a hand!

Lita and Peach: Na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na, na na na, na na na na....

(The band joins in again, prompting Ash, Misty, May, Brock, and various audience members to come onstage and dance)

Peach: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!...sure feel good...like I knew it would...feel more right, yeah...You know way down in an all-ay, like Long Tall Sally

(The band continues to play and everyone continues to dance. Ash, meanwhile, boogies over to the projector and starts it. The music and dancing continue as the lights go down...)

(CARTOON-"The Chikorita Rescue", part 1)

(We rejoin Ash back onstage, still dancing as Misty sets up the drawing board)

Misty: Hey Ash, the song's over! (Ash just continues to dance)

Pikachu: Chu! (gives Ash a static jolt, getting his attention)

Ash: What?

Pikachu: Pikachupi pi pikachu pika.

Ash: The song's over? Aw...

Peach: I guess that song is contagious...

Misty: You know what they say...once you start dancing, it's hard to stop! (heads backstage and sets up the drawing board again, then goes to work.)

(On Our Way interlude plays as title card appears-'Back to the Drawing Board' with Misty". Misty's face appears in the o in "Board")

(A white screen appears, simulating a blank piece of paper)

(Brock is drawn on the screen in his normal clothes)

Misty(voiceover): I hope you like a duel...(the pencil draws an arena, with Brock standing on the Sapphire side of the Poke Ball) You'll be dueling with Peach. (the pencil draws Peach next to Brock)

Peach: Let's get dangerous...(smooths her leaf back)

Brock: How are we supposed to get dangerous without any opponent to get dangerous with?

Misty(voiceover): Here. (the pencil draws a Gulpin on the Ruby side) There you go.

Brock: Peach, start with a Razor Leaf!

(Peach obliges, but the Gulpin eats the attack!)

Peach: Hmm...

Brock: Peach, try Razor Leaf again! (watches as Peach attacks, but the Gupin eats that too)

Peach: Any more bright ideas, O mighty trainer?

Brock: Hmm...Peach, fire a lot of Razor Leaves! (Peach fires a whole lot of Razor Leaves...but THOSE get eaten!)

Peach: Ergggh....

Brock: Did you draw a Pokemon we can't defeat?

Misty(voiceover): Nope! You have to figure out his weak point!

Brock: Hm...Peach, fire a Solarbeam into the Gulpin's mouth!

(Peach obliges, until the Gulpin explodes!)

Misty(voiceover): Game Set! (a crowd cheers as Brock and Peach wave to the crowd. The stadium scoreboard flashes "The End")

(Peach smiles as Misty cleans up)

Peach: I do love a great battle...except if it's against a Gulpin. (romps off to the projector room) Here's some more Chikorita goodness for you...(starts the projector)

(CARTOON-"The Chikorita Rescue", part 2)

(We return to the stage to find Peach and the Poketones back in their semicircle.

Ash: how about an old favorite from the Poketones? (the audience cheers as spotlights appear on Peach)

Peach: Okay...one, two, three...(she begins singing as the other Pokemon back her up) Sittin' in the mornin sun...
I'll be sitting till the evenin' come...
Watching the ships roll in,
then I watch them roll away again...

Sittin' on the dock of the bay,
Watching the tide roll away...
Sittin' on the dock of the bay,
Wastin' time...

(Phoenix starts some vocal percussion, prompting the other Pokemon to dance)

Left my home in Pewter...
I headed for the Fuschia Bay...
Now I have nothin' left to live for...
Look like nothin's gonna come my way..

Sittin' on the dock of the bay,
Watching the tide roll away...
Sittin' on the dock of the bay,
Wastin' time....

Looks like nothin's gonna change...

Peach: Bye! (waves as the curtain closes. "On Our Way" reprise plays as the credits roll)

Hahaha XD That was really good. I got mental images of the entire thing, and normally its kinda hard to picture every little thing in a fanfic, but I could picture the entire thing!
That was cool. Keep up the good work~
