The Battle Tree

In Sun and Moon, The Battle Tree was your staple Battle Tower post game facility for you to test your skills in. Now most people have gotten bored of those but what makes this one different from the Battle Maison and Battle Subway (and what personally keeps me playing it) is the inclusion of past and present famous trainers from the main games appearing. You had all sorts of trainers appearing from the popular Sinnoh Champion Cynthia to Mysterious Scientist and antagonist from Black and White 2 Colress. Hell we even got reformed Plumeria and Guzma after the events that happened in the main story, and we got..... Sycamore's 2 assistants who were like 10 in the original games, but they're now well into their teens.

While I'm sure we would all love for the return of the PWT or Battle Frontier in USUM, and I have high hopes that we may see a Battle Frontier, it's very likely that the Battle Tree will stay, and with that the obvious conclusion is that they will bring back even more old trainers (hopefully). My question to you people is who would YOU like to see brought back or pulled from the main story to be battleable in the Battle Tree?

I feel like Gen 1 and Gen 2 need a bit more love in regards to trainers, as we did get Blue and Red, but no Johto Trainers. I would love to see either Lorelei or Agatha return, since we haven't seen either of them since FRLG in 2004 (and Agatha needs new ghosts!!). It would be great to see Lance again as well, or maybe even Clair. Silver definitely needs to return, it was always fun to battle him and I'd love to see some character development from him as a new and kind trainer.

From Hoenn I'd love to see Wallace and Steven return, because they're fabulous. Maybe replace one of them with Flannery, or bring back another Frontier Brain, Brandon would be awesome.
From Sinnoh, Barry. His team is literally comprised of my favourite pokemon, so it would be great to see him back.
For Unova there's a lot of trainers I'd love to see. Cheren, Bianca, Alder, N, maybe even Hilda and Hilbert (they left Unova to go on vacation!)
From Kalos, maybe Sycamore and AZ.
And finally, from Sun and Moon I'd love to be able to battle Gladion in this competitive setting, with great movesets on all of his Pokemon and many different Silvally combinations. ALSO DON'T MAKE PLUMERIA AND GUZMA GAME EXCLUSIVE.

Just give us a full blown PWT-style Battle Tree. Picking and choosing fan favourites, or random characters that seem to come out of literally nowhere (Grimsley why now?) makes no sense and isn't going to please everyone. The best thing they could do would be to re-introduce the PWT.

I know that's about as likely as a new Battle Frontier, but I am fed up with these half-arsed battle facilities they keep introduced in games. Nothing they've done before or since has compared to the Battle Frontier in Emerald/Platinum, or the PWT in B2W2. We need something more like that if they're going to try and push that as a serious postgame draw, because in its current state it most definitely is not that.

The Battle Tree seemed like an exciting concept that was akin to the PWT until it turned out that we were only getting 6/7 previous characters from the entire franchise. Most of these characters were announced during the reveal of the Battle Tree which was even more of a let down imo.

If the Battle Tree did return then I'd really like for the roster to be expanded substantially, even if it's not entirely like the PWT where we get past Gym Leaders and Champions, just plenty more characters from different regions would be nice. Obviously the best outcome would be if we got a full PWT-style Battle Tree where every Gym Leader & Champion from the past 6 generations show up but eh, that seems somewhat unlikely. ?\_(?)_/?

The battle tree was made too hard and you get poor amount of BP at the start. I only won one battle.

I didn't even want to try the Battle Tree because of how difficult I heard it was. Fully-evolved Pokemon right off the bat, coupled with Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves used by some of them makes it even more scary.

It's very unlikely but I hope to see ALL old Gym Leaders, Elite 4, Champions, Frontier Brains, Subway Bosses, Battle Chatelaines, Rivals and other personalities like Eusine, Zinnia and Benga inside the facility instead of too much random trainers... As much as I hope to see old protagonists too, it will be too much and more unlikely than those which I've mentioned earlier...

Erm, nope. Megas don't appear until around 10 battles into the Super formats. Z-moves are usually only in Super formats as well, but not sure when exactly they appear. What makes it worse is that they sometimes use megas that haven't even been released yet, like Ampharos.

Thank you for that. I did hear about Z-Moves and Megas being used, but since I never attempted Battle Tree I had no idea when they started showing up or not.
