The Best Overall Team (Unofficial)

oh yeah your right, I don't know what I was thinking (Magnezone probably lol)

Ok, looks like Magmortar still has a chance. :] We should probably wait for Punishment though. He wont like this probably. Im glad he is here to question what we are doing. Keep voting if you havent yet.

Forretress is a pretty good Rapid Spinner. Not to mention he has access to Spikes, Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rock. He only has one weakness and that is to Steel.

Claydol stays unless we get another Rapid Spinner. The purpose of a Rapid Spinner isnt to counter Skarmory. Also Aerodactyl is becoming quite popular and Magmortar wont be able to counter Aerodactyl as thats one of his weaknesses. Aerodactyl is quick and can pull a Stealth Rock on the team. Thus I didnt like Salamence much. Again I suggest Starmie.

It's stats are not considered horrible at all. In fact it is an OU Pokemon. But I want this team to have some verstatilty. A Rapid Spinner is a must.

Punishment brings up a good point about Aerodactyl. Punishment, there is only one reason i dont like Starmie. That would mean that 1/2 of our team is weak to electric. I can understand that you just dont send those pokemon out against there weakness, but 1/2? I think that is one too many. That weakness could really be exploited. You have convinced me that Magmortar is wrong, but i still dont want Starmie. I also dont want Claydol. I know we need a rapid spinner, but i dont like any of the pokemon that have it.

First, i would like to say that this is not official in any way. This is simply the opinion of those who post. I got a lot of good responses for the Defense Thread, and i was critizied for the Attack thread. I realize a pure Defense Team is ok, but a pure attack team isnt. I realize that there is a potential for a lot of argument here, so be kind. Here is the Goal of this thread:

Make the best overall team possible. Sweepers, Walls, ect. It will have as few repeating weaknesses as possiable, and there will be no Legendary pokemon.

Here are some starting suggestions:

Attack Sweepers: Scizor, Dragonite, Garchomp, Metagross
SpAttack Sweepers: Alakazam
Walls: Blissey, Shuckle, Dusknoir, Milotic

I know a lot of people will not agree, so dont tell me that, i know. This is not about what kind of team i want. It is about what the general population thinks the best Overall team is. If you have a suggestion please say why. You dont have to use the above pokemon, they are just suggestions. Dont post if you just want to critize my idea.

This team could get deafeated by a special sweeping Dark ice and dragon type

Garchomp covers the electric problem being resistant to it, and it fast enough to OHKO most electric types with earthquake. Only guy who can give these guys trouble is jolteon but milotic has good enough sp.def to survive a tbolt and on the other hand can KO the fragile Jolteon with Surf. Still, if you're concerned about electric weakness you should keep Claydol. I actually think Claydol is a great fit for this team. He's one of the best rapid spinner/spiker with levitate and good all around stats. I think it's hilarious you guys are trying to find a replacement for him(a spinner no less) when's he's everything you're looking for.

LOL at starmie has poor stats. Starmie is one of the best pokemon around which is why it's so OU, and people say it has poor stats? One of the fastest pokemon, hands down. Great sp.att and good defense stats, excellent movepool.. and someone said it's no good.

slama, that was posted a month and a half ago. Our team has changed in a million ways since then. And besides, that wasnt a team recommendation, that was a list of pokemon that was only supposed to give an example of what we are trying to do.

Fine, if we have to, its voting time...again:

1)Keep Claydol

2)Go for Starmie

3)Find some other alternative

I guess if we have to have a rapid spinner, ill go with Claydol. Just because i dont want 1/2 our team weak to electirc.

keep claydol @_@ stop being so undecisive. Claydol is perfect for this team for 3 reasons. 1)it's a tank. it can take hits while being immune to electric and other ground attacks while having good base sp.att that he can hit opponents hard with ice beam and earthpower 2)it's a rapid spinner, which is very useful for competitive battling 3)it's can serve as a stealth rocker as well, which is even better.

now tell me you can find a more useful pokemon than that. For a rapid spinner it's easily one of the best. Starmie is the better sweeper but as you said, you're worried about electric attacks.

You know where I stand. Unless there is a suitable replacement, keep him.

Vainz, I hate you. Hate you with a passion.

Naw, I'm joshing you. I find you quite an intellegent and kind person.

Keep Claydol in then. I think we have something going here. :)

hmm... thats...intresting. thx, i think? im not sure why you would say somthing like that, but ok.

Im pretty sure that it is going to be Claydol stay, so we are going to move on to the next subject. Someone brought up that they wanted to put Rypherior in. I guessing they want to get rid of Dusknoir for it. Does anyone think this is worth voting over, or do we want to stick with Dusknoir?

Let me see what Rhyperior can do before I cast a vote.

And pain killers can make you type weird things...O_O

Rhyperior has much better HP and Attack than Dusknoir and Defense is about equal, only problem is it's speed and special defence leaves it open for a OHKO from Surf

I guess it would be a good choice if we didnt send him against a pokemon that will know a water move. It is really powerful. He could be a great wall and physical wall.

He doesn't have shabby sp.def either.

I do competitive battles now(pm me if you want to go at it with me) and I have found garchomp and espeon to be my two gretes help of all time(oh and don't forget about yanmega). My yanmega put a skarmory to sleep and took it out with bug buzz. I think we should include on of those in there somewhere. Reason I inclued them all in there is because it looks like you guys are speculating sweepers. I am also wondering if electivire is still on the team. Sorry I've been gone so long it's just I started competitive battling.

sry ooka 100, Electivire is no more. But we do have Garchomp now. Here is the pokemon team so far.

Claydol
Milotic
Dusknoir
Metagross
Togekiss
Garchomp

We are trying to figure out if we should replace Dusknoir with Rypherior. I think it would be a very wise choice. sims796, im not sure why you said he dosent have shabby Sp.Def. Its base is 55, which is pretty bad. That is the only thing i dont like about Rypherior as a Tank. Is it just me or do we have very little Sp.Sweeping on this team? We are going to start a vote on Rypherior now:

1) Use Rypherior and get rid of Dusknoir

2) Keep Dusknoir

I am actually going to vote to get rid of Dusknoir. He is one of my favorite pokemon, and i use him on my normal team, but i think this team is better suited for a Rypherior.
