I was thinking Ichigo would get his powers back. I mean, this isn't really the first time he has lost his Shinigami powers, right? >_>
Also, Chances are Isshin has used a similar ability, yet he uses a zanpakuto, and it's possible that he has lost the ability to use its shikai and bankai.

Actually it is. He never completely lost them like he has this time. He lost it because he used the FGT and after 20 years he somewhat got them back.

Oooo, that'd be interesting, I'm betting that big African American guy was the Squad 11 Captain who Zaraki defeated.

Yes, he was the Squad 11 Captain and Kenpachi before Zaraki.
Kenpachi Zaraki defeated him to gain his current captain position.
Kenpachi Kiganjo was also the captain of Maki Ichinose, but he's a filler character.

Well, you could always watch it on DubHappy.com. Or if you don't mind watching subs, the you can watch them on the official Viz Bleach site.

Is the filler better or worse than the Bounts?

Do you mean the current filler playing in the Viz dubs, the New Captain Shusuke Amagai arc? I didn't fully watch it in the subs, so I'm finishing it now. But from what I've heard and read, I think it's good. But I personally still like the Bount arc more. If you want to skip a head, then you won't miss much. But I think it's worth watching if you've got the time.

I believe ILPy appropriately referred to it as "Aizen's reverse-gangrape". I was looking forward to it for quite some time. It is also the beginning of the actual battle with Aizen, where everyone jumps in one after the other. And then Aizen tears them a new one.

I had mixed feelings about the new captain arc. At the time I was still catching up and I thought; Yes, A new captain!
For being a filler it was not bad, but it dragged on for too long.

Anime 293

I seemed to like this scene a lot more than when I read it in the manga. They animated the battle really well.
I liked the chilled Aizen sandwich on Tenken-Tengumaru bread. :p
I'm still having hard time figuring out when Aizen switched places with Momo though.
Because it didn't seem like Ichigo noticed until just before Hitsugaya stabbed her.
Then everyone just gets slashrapped by Aizen. :/
Next up is Yamamoto's fight with Aizen and WW.
I wonder if the next episode will include some of Ichigo's fight with Gin.
The preview and omake were pretty funny. xD
