i imagine that
Well I can give you three or four reasons why I am here. First, NoS mentioned that he had a clan here and I said 'Sure, I'll join.' I've now got an investment in this place. Second, NoS left but the group still wanted to stay together and I was one of the main forces in that, so the investment is stronger. Next, I just don't put my skills high enough to go to a large pond like Smogon. In some ways, I prefer to be a big fish in a small pond. Lastly, Smogon doesn't offer the same kind of environment that PC does. At PC I can ask for matches much more easily and we can form groups like this and mix in some light forum chatting, discussion, competitive battling, and casual matches all in the same area. In Smogon they don't have clans, nor do I think they would suffer them (if you think about it they don't really don't have a huge purpose other than to be an ingroup). What is Smogon? The title says it, 'Competetive Pokemon Community.' Here at PC I think I will encounter much less the typical Garchomp, Gyarados, Blissey, Skarmory, etc. of constant standards than I would at Smogon. We can have matches where we mix in lesser used pokemon and add some variety and have our opponents do the same because we understand that is what the rest of the group likes too.
'Moving to Smogon' basically means unbecoming a group, and since I am primarily here for the group then moving really isn't high on my list. Although I guess if I look at it then pretty much everyone who started in the clan since NoS has left except for a few. I think with you two leaving that means just me, Name, Lumine, and maybe Sharingan and Alakazam (my memory is poor on this)? I haven't seen Alakazam or Lumine in awhile, and Name doesn't visit here often.
I dunno. Should the Clan come to an end? Truth be told we aren't much more than an ingroup of battlers, having made to give us some artificial status in this forum. Some want to move on, some members don't even do much here. DarkSpace for instance; while I respect that he posts here to check in, otherwise he doesn't do much. Lady Nicole wanted to join, occasionally asks that Ooka be made leader, and then isn't seen for a long time again. T_S and Alakazam I believe have mentioned having a lot of IRL work that takes up their time, as do I being a graduate student in college.
I might be a bit sad to see the clan come to an end but it might be time for it to end. As always, I will open this to the members of the clan and hear their opinion. Is the clan serving its members? If this one ended, would you join another clan? Why did you join? How much would its end hurt its members, and how much would its continued existence benefit you?

I had a UE battle with someone at Smogon. And the only reason there aren't Clans, Groups, Etc. is because their battlers are far too serious. I like to be able to lounge around, finding casual battles, but getting to know people on a personal level causes arguments, which then creates controversey, and makes people hate each other. It's like a battle with the side-effect of losing friends. I'm all for making my site a homestead for anyone that wants to come, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend I'm not tired of getting warned by administration.

Well, I personally think the best place around to go would be Serebii. They provide a very friendly community, other than their stupid banner rule. Of course once Pokemon Element gets started, I'll be extremely busy with it, and probably won't go to any sites but it and pokenav.

I have to disagree with that. I've been with SPPf for a year, and it isn't that great for anything other than fanfiction and clubs. It lags a lot, so battles are harder to get than here, their swear radar is broken or something, because everyone bypasses it, and don't get infracted for it, some of their mods bypass the radar, thus breaking the rules they are supposed to enforce, and most of the older members are complete ***holes who take pleasure in bashing anyone who doesn't agree with their atheist, premarital you-know-what loving views. The fanfiction forum is the best on the web for fanfiction, but other than that, it is anything but friendly. :\Well, I personally think the best place around to go would be Serebii. So then you guys haven't realized yet that this guy is T_S and I'm Ooka? xD So dense.....
Ichaste Pekoni said:Heh, I figured as much. Not as if it matters, though, as I'm quite certain I know who he is now.
The fact that you both started asking similar questions didn't help you any, either.
