Well american sitcoms have certainly gone down hill since the early 90s, the only network that still does it decently is CBS. But comedy wise, i still like good ol' american humor, in it's full vulgarity. Shows like The Simpsons, South Park, and family guy, while cartoons, are really funny. But i like comedies that are both able to be funny and have good character development and interpersonal connections like The Office, How I Met Your Mother, or Bones. I honestly don't think ABC has had a good comedy since TGIF went off the air.

Well, Simpsons and Family Guy are what they are.... hilarious ^^

Friends makes me rofl. I hate that they made that Joey show though.

Friends is always on in the afternoons here... when you get home from school ^^

What makes Futurama so different then? :S I know Family Guy and Simpsons haven't got a plot or story outside the episode.. has Futurama got that?

Family Guy can be pretty entertaining, but I get annoyed with the people who think it's the most freaking hilarious thing mankind has ever created and quote it every chance they get. :\ I remember by the end of eighth grade I seriously wanted to eat the next person who said "YOU'RE A PHOOOOOOONY!" in that obnoxious way. Urgh.

Older Simpsons episodes are amazing, but they're kinda running out of ideas. They're starting to rely too much on random stupidity like Family Guy. At least the movie was pretty good.

And I have a friend who's like obsessed with Doctor Who and various other British Sci-Fi shows. I watched one episode with her and had no clue what the hell was going on, but was nonetheless mesmerised by it. I'm not quite sure why.

Kinda running out? It's been years since The Simpsons was truly a great show, Family Guy lately has just been relying way too much on its stupidity.

Well, Doctor Who is one of the more awesome shows to come out of there in a while, so it makes sense.

At least that's what I think anyway. XD

Mmyes, that's true. D:

Futurama was awesome until Adult Swim decided to play reruns every single night ever. I kinda stopped watching it after I'd seen every episode ten times. I'm actually quite happy they lost their license to show it.

Adult Swim does love whoring out their comedy shows, I'm still upset at what they're doing with their anime, it's stupid.

The Simpsons now are kind of hit-or-miss with me. Sometimes I'll find a new episode I'll enjoy, but other times I'll watch an episode and think to myself, what the hell? A lot of their stuff is getting repetitive in my opinion, however, as much as I love Family Guy, The Simpsons will always be better, in my opinion.

I love The Simpsons Movie, for the record. :3

O:!

Jorfe! :D Long time no see!
Anywho, the only non-anime Adult Swim shows that I do like are Harvey Birdman and Robot Chicken. Everything else just seems stupid to me. They've said before that their anime rating haven't been doing so good though.

I love Robot Chicken and The Boondocks. :D Most [AS] comedy is seriously really stupid, though. Especially the original stuff.

I haven't been watching recently because my TV like exploded or something. o_o Does anyone know - are they still showing Death Note or did they start it over or what?

Me and my brother started watching The Boondocks about three weeks ago, I freaking love that show now. I usually don't like shows that play into stereotypes, but The Boondocks does it in such a smart way.

They're still showing Death Note, but what I was talking about is that they've gotten rid of all anime save for about an hour and a half on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hi! I forgot you were a mod now, freaked me out for a moment. XD

I'm really growing tired of Robot Chicken, the last sketch they did that I thought was really great was the Harry Potter/Narnina one, with the Jesus allegory line, that was hilarious. I pretty much just stick to Birdman and The Boondocks these days.

Ah, okay. :] I started watching subs anyway after my TV died. I was just wondering if they'd started showing reruns yet, as they tend to do with anime.

I really never cared very much for Birdman. I just don't really find it that funny. With Robot Chicken, it seems to really just depend. Some episodes are hilarious, others aren't really funny at all.

Robot Chicken is kinda boring now. I liked a few of the things I saw on it, but mostly it's just.. blah.
I've found that it's boughten in to its own popularity way too much. I really hate it when that happens with certain trends, and people. Last time I can remember something like that happening was in the anime VA fandom with Johnny Young Bosch, who used to be a pretty cool and down to earth guy, maybe he still is, but the persona he gives off now is that his popularity has gone to his head. Guess that happens when you have the combined fandom of Power Rangers and BLEACH giving you almost nothing but praise.

Yeah, I also hate it when shows start to pride themselves too much. Then they start to overthink on what the viewers like, and that just turns out bad. Come to think of it, Pokemon doesn't do that though, in my opinion at least.

Pokemon doesn't do much of anything. It pretty much has the same formula, doesn't it? I stopped watching a while into DP, but to me it all pretty much feels the same, especially with Hikari/Dawn, it feels like she's just going to be tossed aside for another girl once the next generation starts, just like May, I wouldn't throw Misty into that category though.

From what I've heard from other people who watch DP, the series has actually improved in terms of plot. While this may just be someone's opinion, they have gone away from the standard formula and are moving to make a more ... realistic, I guess, series.

I still can't be bothered watching though, and I've heard the animation is pretty low quality at times :/

With a show as constant as this, it's expected that the animation won't be awesome all the time. Gotta wonder though, what's made the series different? I check in every now and then and it still seems like the same old song.

Ah, Johnny Yong Bosch. First, he was in the Power Rangers franchise. Trigun gave him his big break in the voice acting business. Then, he got hit with Bleach, Eureka Seven, Haruhi, and a whole bunch of other shows. Now, he's gonna be in Code Geass as none other than Lelouch Vi Britannia himself.

Speaking of which, isn't that show going to start airing on Adult Swim once Blood+ finishes?

In my opinion, DP is better than the Advanced series, and I find Dawn to be a lot more tolerable than May and Max combined. But that's just my opinion~ The voices, however, aren't the greatest, and I can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but I preferred the 4Kids voices. Maybe because I'm so used to them after eight years of voicing the characters in the Pokemon series?

And it's true, the animation really isn't the greatest. :/

That seemed like the practical thing to do, but nah, Adult Swim is gonna wait a few weeks before they air it, and it's going to be airing at 1:30am, which I think is way too late....but it's more or less the same time that Geass aired when it was still in Japan.
