I hate it when people are mad at me. It's even worse when it's my own fault, because I never mean to offend anyone. :(

I guess if you've been through it enough you grow apathetic about it, but for me, I couldn't. D:

I kinda don't agree with that... because overuse of ones like "XD" for like every statement makes people look n00bish or strange (This is basically set around people that like to joke all the time.)
 
I use XD a lot XD

I don't really use many other emoticons, actually...except the occasional -_-' or ;;

My humor is mostly in my sense of sarcasm. A lot of people miss it, though...it really bugs me. I'm too subtle or something.
 
I know what you mean about the sarcasm thing. The more subtle your sarcasm the btter IMO cuz once everyone knows your sarcastic in a subtle way they'll think everything you say is sarcasm. So you can pretty much say anything and they'll think its sarcasm xD
 
I abuse 'XD' and '<3' waay to much, it's not even funny D: Of course, I like to joke around a lot, so they just come naturally of course. I occasionally use others, but half the time I get somebody asking "What's that face doin? o_o" and it's just like, ugh. XD;

See, I almost never used smilies until I met you guys here at PC. XD; My most abused ones are "xD," "XD;," "\o/," and "o_o".

What can I say, I like little text faces. o_o;
 
Most of PC abuses text smilies in one way or another, but the "XD" is probably the biggest offender. I don't think I've ever actually been to a forum that uses them as much as this one does.
 
I think the XD with the semi colon means like... a sweat drop, meaning kinda nervous I guess.

In this kinda situation.

Me: Hey, I just smeared pudding on that guy's locker.
Him: IT WAS YOU?!
Me: Ahahaha... yeah. XD;

Like you're laughing, but you know you're done for. XD;
 
It's a little weird that a sweat drop would be... under the mouth. ^^;;
I don't even see them as smilies anymore, they're just text now. They're used so often I don't see the smilie in it anymore. XD;

EDIT// LOL RESA. But, why would it be drooling while it was laughing? xD;
 
Audy, that kinda looks like what I thought "xD;" meant: forceful laughter. XD
Although the semicolon just comes with the "xD" for me nowadays, half the time I don't even know I put it on~
 
I stopped using smilies in my posts on this forum long ago. I no longer see any real use for them.
 
Idk I like smilies, they just kind of make the post pretty =O
 
I think they just further prove or enhance what I'm trying to say.
FOR EXAMPLE.

"OMG THOSE BEANIE BABIES ARE GOING TO EXPLODE" ("OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS??")
"OMG THOSE BEANIE BABIES ARE GOING TO EXPLODE XD" ("...You're so stupid.")

Or.

"You're not the brightest crayon in the box are you?" ("...Heey... >_>")
"You're not the brightest crayon in the box are you? :D" ("LOL! That's was FUNNY!!")
 
I think if you know a person well enough, you can discern what they're getting at without needing a "XD" or whatever random thing. I use them every now and then, but not in every freaking post like I used to years ago.
