My parents used to sell computers and the related techs so they used to know quite a bit about it before, but now they're kinda not into it now and I think I probably know more than they do. But then again, computer technology has moved quite a bit in the past 5-10 years. *remembers Windows 95*

Technology in general moves pretty fast. Just by looking at that technology conference/expo which was on a few days back, everything has become high-tech and establishing aa dominant use of wireless communication. And Bill Gates predicted that we wouldn't need a mouse or keyboard later on...

My first laptop is horrible now compared to all the hardout hardware we see today. It's got a floppy drive, runs Win 95 and barely is able to store anything on such a small HD.
 
I'm sure in the future, computers will just be glasses worn on your head and instead of using a keyboard or mouse, it can read your thoughts. ;P

That would be pretty weird... XD;

But I have noticed that new computers don't come with a floppy drive, mine didn't. I don't even think they sell floppy disks anymore..

Poor floppy disks have been neglected. </3

I don't see how that's possible. We've been using mouses and keyboards for quite a while now, and I can't see how it will change drastically.

I'd hate to have to talk to my computer. >:

It could seem weird now, but if that's the future... then who knows what else they'll have invented. I wouldn't mind have the whole "glasses computer" thing though. It'd be nice to have one so conveniently placed for use everytime.

My current one has a floppy drive... but I got this computer at least 5 years ago I think. Floppy Drives could never hold much data anyway, it's easy for it to be outdated in comparison to the USB flash drives and external hard drives we have now.

It could be exchanged for just a touch screen computer, creating a super PDA device. But I would hate it if I had to type on a touch screen.

They do still sell them as there are still uses for them such as creating backups, and the appropriate connection still remains inside computers for those that want to purchase a drive and install it, though they have pretty much gone the way of the Dodo.

New computers don't come with floppy drives out of the factory, but external floppy drives are readily available if you need them.

In any case, it'll still be a while before the floppy finally dies out.
