Filmmaking is an art, and art is a matter of perspective, but really, that just made me crack up. Sorry, no further comment about this. XDSweeney Tood. Pffft. Go watch Donnie Brasco, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Blow, or Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
Personally, I found Johnny Depp to be at his best when not involved with either Tim Burton or Disney.
Am I the only one who doesn't think it's even interesting? As for the horror element, not really enthused. *shrug* I really want to see Juno.
Cloverfield... Read a really great review by Harry from Aint it Cool News. I really trust his opinion, and apparently the movie is "utterly brilliant".
I'm most interested not in the monster itself, but in the perspective of the film. It's apparently the civilian point of view, with footage all collected from Central Park.
And he tells us it is not a freakin' antropomorphic whale nor Godzilla. That's fair enough for me, I wasn't really looking forward to see either.
Zombie films? 28 Weeks Later was pretty good.
Or look at Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror. It's GENIUS. Not a great commercial succes due to it's length, mostly because it was a double feature film, Grindhouse, which also featured Death Proof, great film too... All you expect from the legendary Quentin Tarantino in a grindhouse-styled film.
Zombies are a civilization-destroying force only because plot contrivances make them into such a force.
Oddly enough, Shaun of the Dead is perhaps the only film I know of that attempts to depict a zombie outbreak realistically.
Yeah! Shawn of the dead is hilarious, scary and great at the same time xD i love it.
There are coming interesting zombie movies on 2008, check it out on youtube the trailers of REC or Dirary of the dead.
Yeah, REC is in the same way like cloverfield & diary of the dead, with the hand camera, but is from spain (and it got very good reviews) .
