Describe the patterns of immigration in the following time periods: 1820 to 1860; 1880 to 1924. Compare and contrast the responses of Americans to immigrants in these periods.

That's pretty much my topic. D:

I am glad i live in england.. We don't have to learn every single bit about "english history" it was fun when we leanred about the english empire! 1/4 Of the world we owned :D

I suck when it comes to writing essays, I get distracted over the smallest things. I can't do homework without music, but when I listen to a song, I end up drumming along to it with my pens. ._.

But 5 pages over the weekend, dang. D:

When you are talking about essays, you just have to remember that it's not homework until it is due tommorow.

Whoah ._. 5 pages on that topic? That's harsh D:

I'm alright at writing essays once I get started, but it takes me forever to get motivated enough to sit down and actually think about what I want to say. After I get going I usually don't have any problems unless it involves lots of boring research, in which case it takes me forever ;o;

And how can you set a doughnut on fire? D:

A microwave. Just a plain doughnut, in for under eight seconds, started to smoke and burn. The entire house smelt funny for the rest of the night. D|

That's an annoying topic. Especially for five pages. Good luck with that!

You should totally go the way of my friend Tom. He told me when he was a kid, he once had to write a five page essay on the history of the toothpick as punishment for something he'd done in a writing class. It went along like this: "Once upon a time, a lumberjack had something stuck in his teeth he could just not keep out. And so he took his trusty ax and he chopped and he chopped and [repeat for the majority of the paper], until he had a made a small, smooth piece of wood, which he called a toothpick."

I've got to finish up a full newspaper that would have been published during WWII, complete with ads, editorial, world and local sections, etc. Bah. =p

You know, I haven't gotten any homework since my new semester started two weeks ago. It's been really nice, just relaxing after school. XD

I don't do my homework when I get it. It gets me in trouble alot.

I'm a very lazy person.

I didn't do my homework at all last semester, and my grades suffered for it. ._.;;

Five pages on immigration. That's baby stuff compared to the papers I had to write in my AP classes. Fifteen pages on blitzkrieg and ten pages on containment doctrine for the win.

I just spell things the way I think them. I'm also OK at touch-typing, so no problem there (except when using German keyboards, their Z/Y thing is annoying!)
I rarely say rofl, but sometimes I will say lol, and in almost every post there is some sort of smiley.
Just to let everyone know that I'm in a better mood than them!
(^..^) it's a pig! That's officially the silliest smiley yet.

I haven't had school for the last month.

Pretty cool.

We hardly have any actual long vacations here. Even our school's spring break is a week long, and that's the most I'll get of anything. This excluding Summer vacation, which is the longest vacation I'll ever get.

Last time I checked, m'dear, Summer vacation is the longest vacation for everyone.

I have off right now for a couple days. Wee.

Aye, I had Winter Vacation a month and a half ago.
Two weeks ago, I had Intersession, and now I'm on President's Week break.

I just had this toffee candy, thinking that it would tickle the fancies of
my taste buds and quench my sweet tooth. Now my mouth is covered
in disgusting minty flavor and I feel like throwing up. Stupid candy.

A "please" can work wonders. I'll miss winter vacation. Love the weather and here it's as long (if not longer) than summer vacation.
I was going to say please, but then I realised that wouldn't be like myself. Anyone here agree with me that the two words 'please' and 'thank you' have lost all reason to exist? Due to the overuse of them, that is.
