I think it's on what class you may have slept in...

Doesn't online school rock? XD

Granted...it does nothing to help motivate me to establish a normal work/sleep schedule, but oh well.

Since I've been homeschooled most of my life, I can say I've fallen asleep in school, but not in class, per se. It's weird, but it works.

True that, online school provides no motivation at all...

And I remembered I feel asleep in the first grade class XD

Homeschool really has it's strong points, but some things just are pretty bad, no movtiv to move forward, and really stinks with social life, this is just my first year though

what is online school?? can someone tell me?

Of course...

Online school is school done on your laptop, emails to talk and print assignments and fax back various works, or do the online assignments as well...

It's great, but your home like 24/7 and it does hurt the social life, thank arceus for PC ;D

I want online school. Well I leave school this year[/scared]

I don't have any plans for the future and I'm going to fail everything thus screwing up my life :<

I think I lead a nice life. Maybe become a rockstar.

Homeschooling doesn't have to hurt your social life. Mine is actually a lot more flexible and fun than that of my regular-schooled friends. It almost has always been that way, except when I went through that horrible bratty period where I hated everyone because I thought they were idiots. (I still think a lot of people are idiots, but not all of them now.)

The main reason I was homeschooled was because I had a horrible immune system as a kid and people kept sending sick kids in, but as I got older, the school system went to pot and I decided it was easier to stay homeschooled.

I think the most annoying question I get about homeschooling is "are you socialized?" I haven't been in a brick-and-mortar school since kindergarten, but I can name more fun things to do in the tri-city area than most of my normal friends. Parties, live shows, concerts, parks, movies, etc. I can go just about any time I want, and I can easily make friends with people from 8 to 80. As a kid, I was in Tae Kwon Do and Girl Scouts, and now I practically live at the theatre and my local newspaper office. I had more job experience in my freshman year of high school than some college grad students who applied for jobs at my office did.

...I'm going to stop now. Sorry 'bout that folks. |D; [/mini-rant]

I think it's the first question that pops up because most young people (young as in less than 16 years old or so), don't realise that there are so many other places and situations that one can socialise that are outside of a school environment (even though many of them are involved in such situations reguarlarly).

Interestingly enough though, you get those who attend school and don't socialise at all.

And Acendo, why on earth are you posting like that? D:

I'm almost went to Catholic School back when I was going from Middle School to High School. *shudders*

I would never go to Catholic school ever.

I would so prefer to be on online school, it sounds deadly

You keep believing that.

This is considered spam, you could have just as easily read the past few posts to see what the topic was. Please make sure to read the rules in the future~

Yeah, you tell 'em!

That was one stylish post.

I found that quite interesting. If you're doing online school, can't you just go on wikipedia for your tests?

I know, it's like a parrallel universe to me. All of my friends are from school. We play on the same Football team and go to the same drama and everything... I seriously can't imagine that getting friends when you go to online school is easier.

But the people that do go online seem to have a fine social life, which I can't get my head around at all.

That's because online school means a flexible schedule that lets you go out and pick where you want to hang out. You can actually make friends a bit easier since you'll be connected by a hobby or something. Plus, all students grade 12 and under can join school clubs and stuff, or take just one or two electives at a physical school. The system might gripe, but they aren't allowed to keep you out. If I had the time, I could take forensics and track at my district school or a magnet program, but I enjoy other things better.

Oni Raichu: Technically...you could wiki/google your test. Except that since that is a threat, everything you do is scrutinized to an insane level. It's automated plagiarism-checked, then read by a teacher. I was called out during an auto-check for putting the colours of the rainbow in order without "citing a source." That's how sensitive some of these things are. (And I'm sorry, but if you don't know the order of the rainbow by the 10th grade, something isn't right.) I have also been told I plagiarized my work, which I don't really understand how that one worked. (I even cited myself.) Plus, there oral exams and timed tests, as well. They work hard to make sure the work is legit, and can easily kick students out for violating the rules.

Woo!

Wow... I never noticed this section of pkmncommunity until now... am I really that dense? o.O;

^This is what we call showing off in all of Canada's provinces and territories. :<

... XD

Anyways, I don't particularly have a lot to add to the subject, having been enrolled in public education my entire life thus far.

You say that... but I really think that it depends on where you live. If you live as rurally as I do, school is really one of the few social gatherings in the area. It isn't like a city where there is something going on all the time and everything is accessible.
