Ah I see, I want to get a touch screen and a keyboard one, I wonder how much it'll cost tho o.o And does texting come with internet? Or is it separately?

Texting and data are 2 separate charges.

Well, it depends on your plan. Are you gonna do a data plan?

If you end up in places with wifi a lot, you probably don't even need a data plan. It's likely cheaper to just get a basic talk/text plan and an android phone with wifi capabilities than it is to get something with all the bells and whistles. I kind of regret signing into the biggest data plan contract I could because I don't use all the data for my phone. I use my phone moreso than any other electronic I own (it's taken the place of my netbook) but I mostly just use it with wifi. Data really only gets used when I have nothing else to do and I'm out.

I can vouch for HTC though. I've had mine since October and I still love it as much as I did on day one.
I had an exam on my birthday last year, as well as two years before that. This year my final exam is the day AFTER my birthday, but like hell am I revising for it the day before. My parents keep asking what I want for it, and I can never think of anything... weird. I guess this is what being an adult feels like!
The last two years, in lieu of a birthday presents, my parents said they'd put $1k into my RRESP for when I retire or something. Which would be nice and all if... if they'd actually done it! :( So two years in a row I kinda got nothing. But I don't really care because my parents spoil me ever since I moved away for school anyway. xD; So it's like I got my birthday presents throughout the year in the form of lots of groceries, free dinner out, and upgrades when my computer(s) explode on me. :P

Though tonight they asked for a list of things and I have absolutely nothing in mind! :(

Truthfully, I think the two companies are way too big to merge...I don't think its gonna happen...

And I agree with Erica on the HTC issue...they are a great company that makes great phones...so if you can get your hands on an old Nexux One (Made by HTC and google) or go with the newer Nexus S (a samsung/google collab) I think you will be happy. The data plan may be a bit expensive month-to-month, but they are the android operation system flagship phones and they will be the fastest to get updates...unlike less popular android phones that rely on the carrier to update the devices.

So then its possible to get a phone without internet, but if you have wifi then you could use the internet free? :o

Problem is that you have to buy a data plan if you buy a smart phone from T-Mobile, there's no way around it. Well, at least when I got my phone there wasn't. They don't sell the phone without the data plan.

@Charizard★ Well, as long as the phone's capable of connecting via Wi-fi (which I think most smartphones are) and you're in a location with Wi-fi. That's what I do since I'm not on a data plan.

I'm pretty sure all the American phone carriers make you do this now...the only way not to have a data plan is to get an Android phone as a Pay-As-You-Go line....which then, the phone may end up costing an arm and a leg because you cant subsidize the price of the phone with a call plan contract.... :/

How do you know if its a smartphone or not? Sorry I'm asking stupid questions ><

I'm not sure what American phone carriers are like, but when I bought my smartphone I was neither on pay-as-you-go nor a data plan, I was on a regular 3-year contract. They have certain smartphones that you're allowed to do this with. The only definite exceptions are Blackberrys and iPhones for obvious reasons. XD;

@Charizard★ If you're looking for an Android-powered phone, they're all smartphones.

I mean like regardless if it was Android or not :o

Are all the new models from 2010-onwards smartphones?

Basically a smartphone does a variety of different things like email, has apps, you can watch video, browse the internet, play games, etc. It uses a lot more data than a regular old flip phone or candy bar phone (aka dumbphones).
