A lot of my classmates from my Server 08 class like Pokemon, so I'm not alone and I don't feel weird around them. ^_^
I once took a Creative Writing class that focused on video game writing, so we had to go to class in the IT building and, man, I've never met so many people who liked gaming in person. You would often find them playing games online for nearly an hour before class started and watching anime at times.

I overheard uni students saying B/W are awesome, which made me really happy :3 Well mainly cause they are but yeah! :D

I ignore those people. To each their own opinion and everything.
Shame that most of the people I'm friends with would carry that opinion and never let me forget it.

Not that I play enough to really discuss it anyway tho.

C'mon! I was S-Modding this place with dialup and a Windows 98 computer with 128 MB of RAM slowed further down by over 50 different malware files. Internet security was out the window :D

Although I did frequent the Yu-Gi-Oh forum on TV.com back when it was tvtome.

LOL. I remember using Windows XP but on Dial up back then. Although I migrated to using Library PC's as I do today later on LOL But yeah I was obsessed with Internet Security then. xDDD

And yeah I was active in their Pokemon and Rockman.Exe page of TV.com then too :3

I'm going to join UCLA's Anime Club yay. :D

Anime clubs...man, I've had issues with those. I always seem to run into the oddballs at my college's anime club, I eventually ended up quitting because I felt so freaking uncomfortable there.

Side note: I hate Twitter so freaking much.

I have yet to join any of those clubs. There is appearantly a gamer's club at my school, but I haven't heard anything of it.

And what is wrong with Twitter this time?
I guess it all depends on where you go and what kind of people are attending the club. I had the misfortune of basically running into the loudest and oddest bunch of anime fans I have ever personally met. Can't say there's much that would ever drag me back there. >_O

Twitter was basically giving me hell. A friend of mine asked me to make a Twitter background for a new account he set up. This, and it just...took the longest time to properly sort everything out. Didn't help that the thing was basically over capacity for the last hour or so. Graphics? Yeah, sure, fine, that's fun. Getting a finicky site to work with me? Death. There's two hours of my Saturday gone, nice!

In nerdy (and I use this word positively) circles of college age and over it's pretty much expected that you either like Pokemon or at least don't actively hate it, as that's been my experience at least. While there are likely people out there that dislike it for valid reasons and not from being on the bandwagon of hate that was so popular in the 90s to mid 00s, I assume they're rare.

I actually don't really play the games at all anymore and didn't even make it to the Elite 4 in White before I sold it, but I still like the franchise as a whole and buy plushies, figurines, etc. now and again.

Someone should have told the president of the club I went to. It seemed like he was your typical mainstream fan who downloaded current anime and while he did know a bit about animation history in general, he always went with what seemed to be the mainstream opinion. In a "things that need to die" presentation, he listed Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Gundam, Naruto, all the typical things.

How far did you end up getting? I only made to...about three badges before I got kind of bored of it. I think I'm going to go back and play HeartGold before I attempt White again. I loved HG, but I just got sidetracked thanks to college work and whatnot.

In my high school most of the gangsters play Pokemon. I once walked into the bathroom and saw one of them swearing at their Pikachu because it lost in a battle. I thought it was hilarious and started laughing but then stopped when he threatened to shoot me. XD

How great this world of ours would be if all gang battles were settled through Pokemon.
lmao. That would be epic. Instead of killing people you'd be making Pokemon faint, instead of selling drugs, you'd be selling items XD

Basically. You'd have men out at all hours looking for potions, needing one last hit of that sweet, sweet ether. One day, they'll find themselves out in the middle of nowhere and realize they've fallen as low as can be when they're selling their running shoes for money just so they can get that precious HPUP.

I would enjoy that world. A lot. Charizard gang vs. Dragonite gang. Who'd win? Who'd lose? :x

Well that's hard to really say in games, but if it was the real world? The construction companies would win. Imagine all the beautiful (?) destruction, they would love it.

And then all the poaching and selling of Pokemon. Illegal selling of revives, using Pokemon as weapons of mass destruction. (Plant a few Voltorbs in a building and watch it go BOOM!)
