Mew Ichigo, do you live in the southwest of England? (Sorry personal question). Because most school systems are primary and secondary, but in my area they're still first, middle and upper.

I live in the North East (Total opposite, YAY.) and its Primary and Secondary.

I didnt think any schools in our country had the American system.

It seems that, at my school, someone gets pregnant every year [of HS, mind you]. And, it's a small school =3=;

I found out over the summer that one of my friends knew she was pregnant since like February. Crazy. D:

I just don't know why people would do that normally. :(

All the chavs that were in my year when we left school all have kids~ Though now my brother's in year nine (or will be in September) and there are quite a few girls in his year who're pregnant. o_o;

At my old school (which was a private one, mind you) if anybody got pregnant I'm pretty sure they were asked to leave the school when their pregnancy started showing... they were crazy uptight about things like that :/

Aaand I do believe I misread Mew Ichigo's post, thinking she was talking about our middle school system when in fact she was referencing America's.

Fact of the day, boys and girls, anwyay. =D Dorchester Area Schools Partnership, one of the few areas in the UK where we have middle schools.

That's pretty much what I meant. XD I mean, you'll get some care and attention, but overall you're still expected to do the work, however difficult it maybe to do in pregnancy.

It's sad...

I get it now.

In some cases it is sad but quite a few teenage pregnancies involve the chavs who have already thrown their education away.

There aren't any like... go-back or equivalency options there? We've got an "it's never too late" mentality here, even if you didn't graduate highschool or go to college as a kid/teenager it's always possible to go back and do it, regardless of age.

Not that I know of, but she can claim loads of benefits now so I don't think she has the motivation even if we did. =/

Its even worse is someone raped them, and then they got pregnant.

Either my school had no teen pregnancies or I was a lot more oblivious than I thought. o_o; I'm not sure I even know anyone irl who knows someone who was pregnant as a teen.

My school had an ~image~ to uphold, and didn't tolerate stuff like that at all :(
Well yeah. It's a private school. Some parents are paying for you to go somewhere based on the image they have in their mind or the status you would get in the community from it - not the quality education you would receive. Bragging rights. And the paying parent wouldn't be too happy if they were paying for you to go to that school. So, gotta keep up the image and remove the weeds.

One girl in my year got pregnant at school, in her last year of compulsory education (15/16) and never even got her GCSEs. She is pretty much boned if she wants to get a job now.

I'd make a joke about your choice of words if I were shameless and even more disgusting.

I never even noticed the pregnant girls at my middle school. The only one I heard of is this 7th grade girl, and that's just a shame. This is what happens when you don't teach sex ed.
