Anime is definitely pricey here; but we also get a good amount of stuff before the US on DVD due to our proximity to asia. Same thing happens with handheld console games; too :3

Import prices seem to apply everywhere, so the store that I work at still sells anime at an expensive price. However, I get a good discount on them. Australia's JB hi-fi had a wide selection of DVDs, though can't recall the anime selection.

As for social networking sites, I use only facebook, and while I have added friends I don't talk to much, I do have close friends and family members I do talk to. It was also especially useful whilst travelling in Australia.

Oh, FYI, Myspace is owned by The News Corporation (the same people who own Fox news), and they have been known to delete myspace accounts that make fun of (for example) the owner of The News Corporation, or people who promote gay rights and arts.

Concerning Negima, the original manga's actually quite good. The various anime adaptations, not so much. In any case, there are better shows out there.

I've stopped buying manga and anime series' now. I only really buy the odd movie feature if they come up cheap in HMV...and even then I don't find time to watch things.

I have so much manga and anime upstairs, I bet I could insure my car for half a year with what I've spent. =( I need to be more careful with my money now. Besides, the kids sitting in the manga and anime sections in shops make me feel old and pervy.

Though don't you love how silly the anime is though? I must admit, I'd rather see the humour in the anime than in manga(this is just general, not specifically referring to said anime).

The first anime was silly in all the wrong ways; while it definitely had its moments, it could have been much better, especially towards the end. The only thing the second anime has in common with the original manga is the characters and the general setting; it basically does its own thing with them.
