Just that day? I'd peg seeing something like that as one of the weirdest things I'd seen... ever. XD;

Well apparently that person had seen a lot of weird things involving birds, but this definitely seemed to rank up there with some of the stranger ones. She commented on how no one seemed to want to help the bird, everyone just stared and made fun of the poor thing...and then commented on how bad she felt for doing exactly the same thing since she was the only one filming. XD;
 
I just realised the Pelican needs to eat :| I never considered that view. XD

I guess but animals aren't really like that, they tend to repeat actions. XD;

At least this is the sort of thing none of us will ever actually see, unless we happen to be incredibly unlucky or become bird watchers. It seems too rare that a pelican would be hungry enough to eat another...oh god horrible visual, poor poor bird.
 
Heh, there are many pelicans where I live. A fair few people I know have traumatic tales over pelicans - one person had a pelican try to swallow her arm when she tried to feed it a chip when she was young...

Never saw them trying to eat other birds myself though. Yet.

Wow. o_o; That poor girl, it just have been such a horrible experience to have one of those things try to eat your arm. That would make me so scared of pelicans for the longest time, lord knows ducks simply freaked the heck out of me after one bit me as a kid. XD;

...yes, I realize this. And even though I have like...three different toy ducks around the place, I hate real ducks. Had a flock of them follow me home a week ago after I stupidly tried eating a sandwich in the park and noticed they were hungry. Second time it's happened. I would be happy if I never, ever ran into another one in my life. XD;

...hush! We all have to be afraid of something, and if a small feathery bird no heavier than a few pounds strikes the fear of God into me, then so be it.
