Feign's Story time:
Once upon a time... So what better place to start than my first adventure away from home... That is to say, I went with 20 other individuals on a exchange program. Three and a half months of it was in Canada, while the other three and a half months was in Indonesia. We were all paired up with an Indonesian counterpart. My counterpart's name was Kevin, he was awesome at playing the guitar (that among other things, he could play Classical Gas, Toxicity, and that other SoaD song that is popular). Needless to say, it was not a smooth ride throughout. Especially when living in a remote village in the middle of nowhere in Indonesia, with a host family.
I couldn't speak the language that well, but it was a simple language, so I could convey some words. Needless to say, within two weeks of getting there, I became sick, this could have been for a number of reasons, details of which are probably unimportant). Anyway, I believe part of it was subconsciously having a distaste for Indonesian food, because for a while, I was not able to properly eat the food. For example, I was only able to eat a quartre of a teaspoon of rice at a time, without gagging.
But I got better, and what brought me to, was Pizza (of all things). We had been visiting a touristy area (as part of our mid-way group check up), and the touristy place had pizza among other foods. And that was what made me better.
Going on, we found out that our Indonesian leader person (the person in charge of the Indonesian group), was a pervert and a fiend, so he was kicked out of the program, and most likely lost his job, and his wife was also informed. This occurred near the program's end.
Then when it was time to go home, we hardly slept for the last two days, the day on the plane, and the two nights spent in Canada, before going back home after the seven month journey. In those 5 days, I had about 11 hours of sleep total. When I got home, I slept 14 hours (almost straight). I had never slept that long in my life.
Moral of the story: There's gonna be some tough situations in life, and some fun ones too, live up to your potential!
The End.
