I was watching one of the March Madness college basketball games and all of a sudden it sounded like my bedroom window was going to explode. I was all like "o__O" cause it was raining so hard I couldn't see out the window to tell wtf was going on. I went downstairs and opened the front door to look outside and there were lawn chairs from people's porches scattered every which way and golf ball sized hail completely covering the ground making it white. I walked back upstairs to an interruption of the basketball game with a "We have just received confirmation that a tornado has touched down on Springettsbury Road." report. The road I live on. x__x;;

Aaah that's so scary. ;_;

But the mental image I have of you opening the door and just kinda going "...:|" at the scenery outside is awesome. Just sayin'.

did your roof or porch get torn away? cuz thats what i heard happened to some houses. poor them T_T
 
How close was the tornado to your house anyway, Erica? o_o;

We don't get many tornadoes here...the closest I've ever been is back in 1996 during Hurricane Bertha. It passed through overnight (was still going in the morning when we woke up though) and when we got up we saw that our neighbor across the street's trees had blown over in his front yard. It was either a funnel cloud that never managed to touch the ground, or a downburst - no one's sure which.

Also, holy crap it's a Fuz. =o

Lmao. Hey! At that point I thought it was just a bad storm! I had no idea there was a tunnel of wind meandering around destroying everything in it's path! :<

Naw. Not mine, anyway. A house down the road got pretty f-ed up though. To the point that they had to shut down the road for the rest of the night. How dare they make me take a detour to buy cigarettes. D:!

i remeber when i was little my only vacation to Florida was ruined by this bi hurricane. We had to move from hotel to hotel, and we were always in its ever-changing path T_T

Tornadoes in the GTA are rare.
 
Virginia's lucky. When we get hurricanes, they usually hit North Carolina first, which weakens them to really weak hurricanes/tropical storms before they get here. We don't usually get a direct hit - it's happened in the past, but rarely. And most of the time our tornadoes come from either tropical systems or the really really bad thunderstorms we get around here that blow up on hot days.

I'm surprised no trees fell over in my neighbourhood or anything. o_O; They have before during storms but driving through the area on the way to work this morning... everything looked absolutely normal.
