I thought Silent Hill was zombies..? Oh wait, wasn't it like illusions or something?
The creatures of Silent Hill are Physical Manifestations of feelings, thoughts, memories, and emotions, derived from, usually the Protagonist of the game.
Silent Hill (PS1) : Antagonist
Silent Hill 2 (PS2) : Protagonist
Silent Hill 3 (PS2) : Protagonist
Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2) : Antagonist
Silent Hill: Origins: (PSP/PS2) : Protagonist
Silent Hill: Homecoming: (PS3/XBox 360) : Protagonist
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories: (Wii/PSP/PS2):SPOILER ALERT! Protagonists's Daughter
The creatures are usually Super Deformed creatures, representing feelings such as guilt, anger, sadness, and so on.
A recurring theme, Hospitalization, brings forth versions of a single creature in 5 Silent Hill games, the Nurse enemy, Usually brought forth from the characters horrible memories of hospitalization, and for 3 of the 4 male protagonists, the Nurse is a physical representation of Hospitalization, and Sexual Anxiety.
I think I have an obsession with this game...
