Amagad q-q I'm insulted lol

The U.S. makes fun of us in popular shows like Family Guy and South Park all of the time; is it not obvious we're only allies, and not the same country lol

If the U.S. and Canada merged, I'd move. I don't know where to; maybe Morocco. S'beautiful over there and everyone's nice. Their terraces with the amazing, homemade ice cream is heaven on earth.

Yeah, I can imagine. They teach it here the majority of your schooling years but not much about area geography persay. More so about volcano's and such.
So, you mean Geology then? Or do you mean, they just teach where they and other natural wonders are, not about them? @_@

I'm in Jesusland. :[

Odd.

Geography in Canada is:

- Topography (mountains and stuff)
- The atomosphere
- Population
- Placements of countries & their flags
- Languages in countries
- Age pyramids
- Diseases and non-profit organizations, like UNICEF
- Culture & Religion
- Study of water and climate / different environmental "zones"

and other stuff.. mandatory until you're 13/14 lol (Grade 9).

[Edit]

I'm in education-land :P

So they combine Geography and Geology? Interesting.

Yay for you. :]

To be fair, it's not like Canadians don't reciprocate the jokes. XD Where I live, the kids are pretty adamant about Canadian national identity versus American influence. Stuff like healthcare and participation in the World Wars are brought up a lot when talking about Canada's "superiority" over America. o3o;

And I lived in Jesusland. It wasn't so bad. XD

Canada is superior to America. ^3^

Which part of Jesusland? o:

Yeah, that's true lol but in Montreal, all the American tourists are hotheads and pick on the French, thinking they're weak. There was this one guy who called a Quebecois a panzy in the middle of the street at Berri-Uqam, Montreal.

That guy went to the hospital LOL Serves him right.

You're just saying that because you're moving.
Canada is a beautiful place.
British Columbia, please. :D

All Americans think that. In my school, we get a lot of French student teachers. You know how often they get called the P word, not panzy? D:

Americans are stupid. The ones that aren't either leave or actually do something about the stupidity.

British Columbia is unpatriotic. From Manitoba and over, they're not patriots. They don't even make the effort to learn the second language of Canada, for the most part, and they vote Conservative, the "Make the rich richer and the poor poorer" party.

Contrary to the East, who votes primarily Liberal or Bloc Quebecois (I'll be voting Bloc Quebecois or Liberal, personally. Western Canada is racist towards the French and the prime minister doesn't do eff all about it; they just call us whiners for wanting to protect our language rights :\)

It depends on what you value and from which perspective you're speaking of.

Texas for 6 years, Tennessee for 3 months. \o/

It's a stereotype that emerged from after World War II that the French were somehow weak in terms of physical power. I think the fact that the Mayday distress call (which doesn't stand for anything, by the way) emerged from a French might have contributed somehow. XD

I live in Southern Ontario where French as a second language is pretty much mandatory. My constituency votes Liberal most of the time, though we're also pretty strict Federalists and have a strong distaste for Quebecois separatists. XD;

The French were discriminated in that war; all orders and texts were in English and they were the second batallion to be slaughtered, just after the blacks.

[Edit]

I used to despise separists, because I do love my Quebec as a part of Canada, but the rest of Canada (other than New Brunswick and SOME of Ontario) doesn't want us. You should go on CNN's website and see the comments the anglophones left towards an Olympics article there. The French felt that they weren't properly represented and they were like "SCREW YOU QUEBEC" and things like that, just because we wanted to see more French representatives and more Quebecois performers.

So, never move to western Canada? :]

Also that wouldn't be racism. :[

I think the French-Canadians have every right to protect and preserve their heritage. :3

Oh god. Texas.

Hey now, don't mess with Texas. :P At least their job market is stable, unlike the rest of the country. Also, stereotypes are not cool.

Is it true that Texans call Arabs sand [blargh]?

My fiance says they're not very creative with their insults.

No, the reason I don't like Texas is because the majority is socially backwards. Economically, I love them.

And it is true when you say Texas is socially backwards, for the majority. Some aren't. Most are.

:[ Even people who live in Texas agree. Of course, those are the people who don't think like people did in the 1800's.

Yusshin, I wouldn't know. My friend Lillian said she has heard it before, but the term "Towel-head" is much more common in all of the US. :[

LOL but they don't even wear turbans; that's Egyptians o-o How silly.

You're getting BC mixed up with Alberta :P XD

Alberta is the more conservative province. Though there are French communities there as well...

But Western Canada is much nicer, there are the rockies and the oceans and the grassy wheat fields, and foothills.

I wouldn't mind a video game in Latin actually. XD

The general belief amongst the Federalists is that most Quebecois don't want to be a part of Canada and want to take a good portion of the military and government budget with it. While not true, it's the passion that's driving them to think like so. :/

Personally, I've never heard that specific insult being said, though I have come across other similar pejoratives. And it seems like casually saying the n-word as mainstream rappers do appear to be okay amongst the kids nowadays (they don't mean it in an offensive manner towards blacks, rather they just say it to sound cool and edgy). Some stereotypes are true, I guess. @_@
