I feel so ill.

The barbeque yesterday started at about 2, and we all pretty much sat eating and drinking for the entire day. I ended up staying over at my friends because it was like 3am. Then I had to be up at 8 so I could get home and get changed and then go to work. Wonderful.

It was awesome though, and (probably) worth the splitting headache.

I'm sorry to hear that Limey, I hope your better soon.
My favorite rpg would have to be maplestory and Tales.

I never realy got into those online RPGs. They seem to have the same storyline

I never pay attention to the storylines of MMOs. I'm sure plenty of them are interesting but I'm usually too busy talking with friends while questing or whatever so I just don't pay attention to what I'm doing. 8/

Thanks guys! :) Hope you get better Limmy :)

On the topic of RPGs, I've played a number of the Final Fantasies (III, VII, X, X-2, XI, XII) and Kingdom Hearts, but I'm notoriously bad at playing console games. I can never seem to keep interest long enough to finish most of them. I also played WoW for about 2 years and just recently quit, but I don't really know that a ton of people consider it an RPG, necessarily, beyond the fact that it's an MMORPG.

Final Fantasy is one of the best RPG games there is. :P
Their story lines are always so intense and the cut scenes are fun to watch.

Over the past few years, I've grown to like the storylines, options for sidequests, and long play times of RPG's. Now, we need somebody to release a new RPG for the DS... Barring Pokemon Soul Silver, it's been since October that I've bought a DS game :/

I don't do a lot of sidequests, at least not when playing on my friends console. He yells at me and tells me to go straight to the story line.. so yeah. Its become a sort of habit now to skip over anything but the main quests. I try to do them... when I have time..

I like to do most of the things that I'm able to do in games. I love it whenever they have a bunch of options with sidequests and everything else. I finished FFXIII before the end of March and had completed all the stone sidequests and 5-starred them.

I've started to grow out of RPGs in the last few years. D: I guess I used to love them because it would take forever to finish them, so I'd get a new game and I could spend hours and hours and hours on it and still not be close to finishing. Nowadays, since I've branched out to so many different genres (and also have all the consoles for the first time ever in a generation) I have a tendency to just want to finish a game asap so I can mark it as beaten and move onto the next game on my list. D: I have 20+ games that I've never even TOUCHED let alone played enough of. x_x; I'm trying to cut down on the backlog but it basically means that when I play through a game, unless I absolutely adore it, I tend to just do the bare minimum in plot and whatever sidequests I accidentally run into along the way. D:

And even then, for some reason I really like the mindless grinding sidequests in most RPGs now, rather than plot-based sidequests. @_@ I guess I just have more of an attention span for the former which makes no sense. Though I guess it means I can multitask while doing it and not have to worry about missing out on anything.

I really didn't like FFXIII as much as I did the other Final Fantasy games, because it basically just Point A to Point B throughout the entire game. Even whenever you get to Gran Pulse you don't have many options, just the C'ieth stone missions. I prefer having a big overworld to explore throughout the entire game like in the other Final Fantasy games.

I don't even own 20+ games... I've played and beaten the maybe three that I do own. I guess that it is because I don't have a job and can't make money... My main RPG nitpick is when they send you on a quest that is so extremely vague, or so adaptive, that you might spend hours just trying to beat the one out of five parts of it...

I love the battle system and the characters (and the graphics) of FF13 but I'm getting really sick of the sheer linearity of the maps. And since I know it doesn't get much better (I'm on chapter... 7, now?), I'm rather disappointed. But still, I didn't expect a lot from this game and I knew going into it that it was really linear, so I can't complain too much. Though I would like my party to stop splitting up. 8(

fff, I wish my ps3 controller wasn't broken so I could play more. ><;

Dont worry, the main characters will all get together in Chapter 9. And thats the badass chapter.

The game gets better, at least a little bit, later on. It at least isn't so much like Point A to Point B like it is for most of the game, and you have a few sidequests, but it still isn't anything like the other Final Fantasy games. You also don't get your party split up and have to set up new Paradigms every 5 seconds.

Actually, I don't mind shifting Paradigms every few seconds in battle. It keeps me paying attention. I know in easier battles (with a full party of three to battle with), I'd let my mind wander while in battle and check email or something only to glance up and be nearly dead so... keeping me engrossed is important, haha. But the battle system is really fun! :> Even with just two people, it doesn't bother me that much. I mostly just want everyone to get back together so I can watch all the characters interact with each other again.

I am glad to hear it gets better later on in both respects. x_x
