Yeah, that heroin addiction has to be the worst one. I still don't like smoking, and I should stop ASAP due to breathing problems but I don't know how.

It wasn't just the conservatives. When I spoke of politically charged, I speak more of the general "ZOMGWARONDRUGS" tendency from both sides. Rehnquist and Thomas (two generally conservative judges) dissented. Ginsburg and Breyer (generally liberal ones) concurred. What disappointed me, though, was Scalia's concurrence, because he usually is consistent and principled, if nothing else. :/

Yes apparently so. But alas one must realize that the war on drugs is a futile thing to attempt. People will find ways to get it. :/

I tried some of my stepdad's beer twice in two distanced time periods, and it still tasted pretty nasty.

If I drink any alcohol, it's church wine. And that's on Sundays only, during communion.

If the government had some button that could make all drugs and alcohol disappear and never return, that's one thing. The trouble that (I think) Netto Azure was pointing out was that banning them doesn't get rid of them, but rather drives it underground and into the hands of violent gangs.

Drugs are never going to go away, its a sad truth. Even if drugs and thier formulas were wiped off the plane of existence this very second, it wouldn't take long for someone to make new types of drugs, and many will start huffing paint until said new drug is made. It's a sad realization, and the best way to increase drug usage is to not do it yourself.
