Also, last time I checked, the PS3 doesn't have that retarded red-ring-of-death.

I guess you could go for the PS3, but I don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360, so don't take my word for it. Luck knows better.

It depends on what you want in your machine. The PS3 is, all in all, a better entertainment package. So, if you want one machine to play games, play DVD's, play music, etc., then choose the PS3 because it does all that superbly. The 360 is much more focused on games and is a very thorough gaming machine. However, if you have lots of friends to play online with on the 360, the experience with XBOX Live is awesome, intuitive and very fun.

Red ring of death? O.o
Is that a virus or something?

Yeah but as Wii has a smaller fail rate than both of those. And a PC, if you treat it right, is the most reliable machine you can have.

What idiot developes a virus for the Xbox 360?
..Idiot? NO. Genius? YES! End this stupid PC alternatives now.

It's when the processor (I think) overheats and then bye bye 360. They have now 45nm or who knows what processors so now it doesn't overheat.

The red rings of death were a fault with the older 360's that rendered them useless after constant hours of play which caused the console to overheat. This problem was removed with the mid 2009 consoles and up. Also, if you're getting a 360, I recommend you getting to 360 250GB version.

But the Wii also has the least powerful hardware of the three, the weakest library of them, and probably the lowest hours-played-per-system-owned.

That issue's basically gone with the 2009-on models. (b'-')b

I personally have a newer Xbox 360, since I already had a 20-game library when my dad and I looked at replacing our old one (which had RRoD once in 3 years).

I see.
How much do the 250 GB version cost? Can it get any viruses?

Oh, I didn't know they were removed. :o Of course, I don't pay much attention to other systems. XD;

Yeah, I wouldn't get a Wii by itself though. Whatever console someone buys, I always recommend that you get a Wii with it. It's the perfect console for everyone, even if it is not your main console.

I only play my GameCube Pokemon games and SSB: Brawl on occasion on my Wii... with a splash of Mario Kart 64 and Wii Baseball if I'm really bored.

I see.

Well... I think it's at about $300. It looks like it comes in a couple bundles, too. Online play costs about $60/year, though, but it's paid via one-time purchase cards that you only need to get once a year to keep playing online. And, in theory, it can get viruses, but only if it's consistently connected to the internet while you're playing. And few people actually have bothered to program viruses for it, since all purchases are done by purchasing points cards in a store and using the code off of that card.

Or you could just buy a Mac. XD
It has Steam now, so game selection wouldn't be a problem.
It still doesn't take away the fact that the peripherals (on the desktops) are the worse for gaming, ever. Seriously, how are you going to play a FPS with a Magic Mouse? XD;
