Well, I also lack speakers, so... XD;

Regardless, I like my desk job. And having internet access. n_n Makes working so much more tolerable. /lazy

My workplace actually uses IE7, though I have admin rights, so I installed Firefox right away when I started, and I've updated each time a new FF came out. Our firewall blocks Facebook but not PC for all browsers, so, yeah, I come on here when things are slow or I'm waiting for something to load. :D

My computer at work has 1 GB of RAM and a Dual Core processor running Windows 7. Most computers elsewhere in the company have a Pentium 4 with Hyper-threading (emulates a dual core, but not exactly the same) and either 512 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB of RAM, and run Windows XP. Also, because of some applications we have, all our computers need Flash, Shockwave, and Java.

Damn, you wouldn't happen to work with computers, would you? Quite a nice set-up for a workplace.

That sounds... nice. Well, nicer than what I've got. (Though I know for a fact that as the temp summer worker, I get the worst computer in the whole plant. XD)

But yeah, Windows 7? :[ Most places haven't upgraded. What do you do?

Most placed I know of still use Windows XP. :[

And I'm one of those people who look at the OS of a computer when I see one out of the house.

I'm working part-time (about 20 hours a week) in the IT department at my dad's employer (he's the head of the department, which has... 1 other person). We got these machines when our online vendor was out of the other machines we usually got, which are older but still capable compared to what they've been replacing. We don't intend on having a single computer with less than 1 GB by this time next year, since we'll be rolling out Windows 7 at that point., as well as Office 2010.

D: XP. Still, at least that's not 1998. That is like.. dinosaur years old... I mean, XP is still usable! Just... 9 years old. xD;; /tries to find a bright side

LeSabre(TM): :O I've gone through Pixiv and deviantART and haven't accumulated that much Leaf fan art. Do you have any other sources?

donavannj - Ah, okay. Thought you must work somewhere tech-y, since most places I've heard of aren't really too up-to-date unless computers are part of their work.

Ooh, nice. xD;

I don't mind XP--it's certainly more usable than 2k or its predecessors, but it's still so hard to get used to after using Windows Vista & 7. ;~;

I take back what I said about not having a computer with less than 512 MB of RAM... we still have a couple machines running Windows 3.11 because they're the only things that will talk with some of our testing equipment. XD;

The company's actually a creamery, it's just that the CFO is willing to spend on technology to make the plants and the paperwork processes more efficient.

I can switch between the two with ease, but that's because I kinda have to, since I do a lot of support work with XP.

Yeah, it feels like a significant downgrade, especially from 7. 7 is a fantastic improvement on Vista. When I broke the screen of my 7 laptop & went back to my (relatively new...) Vista PC, I was shocked by it.

Creamery... *mouth waters* D: Do you... get any creamery-related work perks? :3

That's right, but I'm running 7 on OS-appropriate hardware, which is what matters! Honestly, it just is significantly more usable imo.

I actually run 7 on my netbook (which came with XP) and it runs pretty well. Have to disable a lot of features (like transparency and whatnot) but it works well. I was pleasantly surprised. n_n

Well, first there is the caveat that I'm running a four year old machine with XP and only 30 gigs on my hard drive. And I have quite a bit of Pretty Cure anime stored on mine as well.

As for art, I also use Pokemon Search and the PokeSho oekaki boards, but not so much anymore because you can't search by character. Pokemon Search lets you search by criteria such as game series, manga, anime, etc, but with the oekaki you pretty much have to browse everything to find what you want.

And BTW I haven't updated since XP since this old laptop doesn't have the memory to handle it. Not with Leaf and Pretty Cure also on it, anyway xD

Ah, okay. :O You still must have a lot of Leaf art, though. Thank you for the links!

Thing is, Windows 7 usually needs more resources than Vista, it's just slightly better at managing them because it's 3 years newer, and the hardware it comes with is a lot better.
Isn't Vista superior then Windows 7? My cousins were having an talking about it a while back :o
