Oh ****. Civ 5 was released, wasn't it. So much Pokemon going on that I completely forgot about it.

My friend got Civ 5, and was telling me about it. I was like, "well, that's cool."
I mean, it sounds cool and all, but like, I just don't think I have the time to devote to a game like that):

And, I've been so busy with school that I haven't had time to play pokemon. My friends are all ahead of me. ;-;

I don't get why people are so bent on wanting to be called "otaku" so much. You're just basically admitting that you're a good for nothing who has no social life and does nothing but stay at home watch Chinese Cartoons all day. :\

Anime is actually Japanese, sorry. Mostly. And plus, alot of people like anime, so they just want to fit in with the others and be party of something I guess.

Japan does outsource much of the technical work regarding anime to places like the People's Republic of China, so the statement still makes some sense. Even with all the outsourcing and general cost-cutting, animation in Japan is not a very profitable business.

I'll probably wait a year until I have a PC that I am confident can run it without a hitch. My current one is probably mid-range in terms of ability to play it.

The great thing about it is that you can just play a few turns a night... but there's also the "one-more-turn" addiction factor that could keep you up all night. XD;

Whats a Civ 5? :P

I'm the biggest Otaku just so you know :D

Civ 5 is the nickname for a game that is played on a Windows-based PC called Civilization 5. It's a strategy game.

Have your fun claiming that title. No one else who actually knows what it is wants it. (b'-')b

Anime is actually Japanese, sorry.

That part was somewhat sarcasm, though Japan does a lot of outsourcing for its animation to countries like South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

I know what an Otaku is, but I see no reason to deny that I am one.

Besides, it doesn't mean the same thing here as it does in Japan. It has evolved to mean an extremist anime/ manga fanboy/girl. Rather than being an insult, it just states the extent of your interest in anime.

When was the last time you watched an anime?

If it wasn't within the last 5 hours, you are not an otaku. n_n
Crap. I was signing up for college all day today. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There, I just watched this. Does that make me an otaku again?
(That was an epic episode btw. lol)

I watched some anime before classes, but I had three classes back to back then came home and napped so I might be an otaku...

Also I saw Civ 5 on sale yesterday but had to restrain myself from buying it on the spot. TEXTBOOKS AND STARCRAFT II MAN, YOU CAN WAIT.

It's only 5 minutes long, as long as you aren't watching anime all day and can't wait to get home so you can watch anime, you aren't.

Then again, who am I to judge? I only watch Anime because there's only one, decent Western Animation on TV.

I NEED MY FIX OF MOVING PICTURES, AND JAPAN'S PICTURES ARE THE ONLY ONES WHERE I CAN FIND MOST IN ENGLISH. /Why Pixy watches Anime.

/In a nutshell.

I'm not a massive anime fan, but I'm not a fan of Western cartoons either (except for a few!). I guess I just grew out of cartoons? D:

That's one way of putting it, though I don't think there's really a thing of "growing out" of anything since it implies that people are supposed to lose interest in something with age. I haven't really grown out of cartoons; rather, I just wasn't entertained by them any more. I still watch anime frequently, though I'm not someone who would consider "otaku" to be complimentary either. Rather, I just think of myself as a casual fan who can go without the material anytime if need be.
