History
There exists a world supported by Earth's computers, internet connections and servers. This world, filled with creatures known as "Digimon", is known none other as the Digital World.
The Digital World was once in trouble. An evil had taken root, and tried to spread darkness over the Digital World. As a desperate attempt for help--it made contact with the outside world--and seven children, then young, were chosen. This group of children were called the "DigiDestined", and they were, you could say, destined to save the Digital World from this evil. These children possessed qualities that made them prime DigiDestined material.
However, they couldn't do it alone: each child had a special Digimon partner. Each one were essentially made for them. Together, they saved the Digital World, and in the process, Earth.
During battles in the real world, many children who witnessed them became DigiDestined in the process.
The seven children thought they would never see their beloved Digimon partners ever again, as they had to return home because the Digital Gate--which let them access the Digital World in the first place--was closing.
However, the evil returned three years later. Amazingly, Digital Gates were opening, and three new DigiDestined were discovered. Along with various DigiDestined all over the world, they obliterated the evil from the Digital World and the Real World.
Plot
Twelve years later...
Year: 2015
Since then, everyone knew of Digimon, and that they existed. An anime was made off of the DigiDestined's adventures. Trading cards, figures, and other various memorabilia and merchandise of the digital monsters have also been made.
However, the one thing--especially children--many yearned for was contact with a real live Digimon. Imagine if these creatures came to live in the real world. It would shake up everyone's life. Despite these people's hopes and dreams, no contact with the Digital World was able to be made in the past twelve years. It seems that no one else would be able to meet a live Digimon.
A company, named "Digital Connections", pledged to make a connection with the Digimon. A project, dubbed "Project Connection", was put underway. Many were rightfully skeptical of Digital Connections claims, and ignored them. Digital Connections and its claims were soon forgotten.
Two years later...
Year: 2017
Digital Connections made a breakthrough. After two years of constant research, experimentation, and testing, they announced that finally a product would be released. This product, which was actually software, when installed on your computer would open a Digital Gate to the Digital World. This software was called the "Digital World MMO". It needed testing, however, and they opened a beta testing campaign: for a very expensive price, you would be able to get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet your very own Digimon. They announced it as an MMO.
Digital Connections wasn't content with just a campaign: Not long after, they created a device, dubbed the Digital Categorizer, also just called the D-CAT, which primary functions were to gather and display data on Digimon, and a "secret function" that was to be discovered. They then opened a sweepstakes: eight lucky people could get the Digital Connector software and a D-CAT, for free, if they matched a random number.
This stirred up excitement in everyone. Many bought the software. Others entered in the sweepstakes. Others still were skeptical of Digital Connections' ambitious claims. These critics of Digital Connections' software just knew something was bound to go wrong.
The Digimon of the Digital World meanwhile were just fine, up until Digital Connections came into the picture. Then Digital Connections entered--and promised that what they were doing were beneficial for the Digital World. Most believed that Digital Connections were right, but like the humans of the real world, many Digimon were also critical of Digital Connections.
What if they were lying?
What if the humans ruin their world?
What if this "Digital Connections" has a plan?
Meanwhile, the Digital World MMO didn't really let you access any real parts of the Digital World (like File Island and Server Continent), but was its own little world, called the "Remote Server Island", complete with its own currency, etc. Players already there would soon get their first surprise...
In the real world, the winners have been chosen. They were expected to receive their software within three weeks.
The MMO got high ratings and instantly became popular. The Digimon fandom was booming again.
Within three weeks, a crisis developed in the Digital World:
The Exit Gate, which was seemingly the only way out of the Digital World, would not work. No matter how much someone would go through the gate, it would just return them back to the Digital World.
Many "players"--what Digital Connections secretly referred to them as--thought that Digital Connections would fix the Exit Gate. Right? Right? Right?
Apparently not, as Digital Connections seems to have noticed everything BUT the Exit Gate problem!
They quickly discovered that wasn't the case. At that time, it was discovered that there was an alternative way to leave the Digital World: By killing another "player's" Digimon. The situation quickly went downhill as many players hunted down other players to kill their Digimon. Players joined in groups and hunted down players all by their lonesome, others formed pacts with these groups, usually having to give up major assets, just so they weren't be hunted down. Others still survived by hiding and not trusting anyone.
The players in the Digital World were effectively divided up into two groups: The Hunters, and the Hunted.
Little does anyone know, Digital Connections has just set up a dangerous experiment, and many have fallen prey...
You are one of the sweepstakes winners.
Can you discover what Digital Connections is up to?
Or maybe there is another force behind it all?
How do the Digimon feel about this?
Will you band up with the other sweepstakes winners, discover the secrets of the D-CAT, and solve this mystery?
Whatever was your reason for coming to the Digital World, be it harmless or malicious, you will have to abandon it...
Locations
--New York City
It's where you live, and where some of the plot will be taking place. It's also a very big city which makes it even better. What else is there to say?
There's many places to live, and such a big city is the perfect place for the adventure coming up.
Digital Connections is also located here.
--Digital World
Where a majority of the plot will be also taking place. Home to the digital monsters known as Digimon.
--Remote Server Island
Remote Server Island is where Digital Connections set everything up at. It is a very diverse place, and it is pretty big too. It has its own currency, DigiDollars, which is earned ingame but can also be bought using real money in the real world. Or in game using real money. Here is a breakdown of the locations here:
Welcome Gate
Where all players start out at.
It's pretty basic, and is located near the Town and Exit Gate for easy access.
The Town
It's basically the "hub" of Remote Server Island. There's everything a player needs here. Places to rest, places to eat, places to shop, you name it! It's in the center of the island, and has access to the Exit Gate, and Welcome Gate. If you don't wasn't your Digimon (and possibly yourself!) to get hurt, you'll be hanging out here...if you're not foolish.
Exit Gate
Where you leave the game at--if you could. The mystery begins here!
The Wild
The Wild is a lush plain, covering a lot of Remote Server Island. A lot of Digimon live here. The Wild connects to a few other places, like...
Shrouded Forest
A dark forest with lots of foliage provides easy access to The Hunted. It's advised that you take caution here, and ultimately travel in a group.
Server Savannah
This area is home to a varied amount of Digimon. It even has its own swamp!
Eruption Volcano
Home to many Digimon that love fire.
Digital Colosseum
If you aren't being hunted down outside of here, then you're being hunted down here. Once a way to participate in fights for sport, now it's just another hunting ground. It's now just a rumor that you can get great rewards here for winning in a fair fight....
Peak Mountain
A mountain that seems to pierce the sky. It's also an easy way to get someone's Digimon killed--just shove the off a cliff...
The Caves
An area dubbed "The Caves", The Caves can connect you to any place on Remote Server Island. Careful--this area has been turned into just another hunting ground.
More locations to come...
The D-CAT (Digital Categorizer)
The Digital Categorizer (D-CAT for short) has a few, but important functions for the average Digital Connections MMO player. It's the Digivice of this RP!
It's a small handheld device that's very similar to the 3DS (lol). It's colored one solid color (the first color in your SU) and then there are stripes going all around it (your second color in your SU.) On the top LCD screen, a meter is displayed. It's unknown what this meter is for... (well to us its for Digivolving) along with the battery life, and a digital 24hour clock.
It also has a battery life. If the battery life drops to zero, no functions will be able to be used.
NOTE: You can pick almost any Digimon! Just make sure it has a full line, and it must start at the Rookie level.

- Digimon Categorizer (Can give you information on many Digimon. Would be quite useless without the scanner though.)
- Scanner (Special barcodes are hidden Remote Server Island. This Digital Scanner, located on the back of the D-CAT, can scan these barcodes. Only then will you know what happens when you scan them... Also can be used to scan Digimon to get the lowdown on them.)
- Digital Map (Can show you a map of almost ANY current location, real world or Digital World.)
- ??? [Digivolving] (This will be unknown to the characters for a short amount of time, and your D-CAT will not be able to use all forms of digivolving right away. Digivolving can happen on command, but most of the time it will happen automatically when the holder or their partner are in danger. For now, it will only have Normal Digivolving, which allows your Digimon partner to go from Fresh -> In-Training -> Rookie -> Champion.) However, there is just more of that. When a Digimon or their human partner is in mortal danger (about to be harmed majorly/die) the next form of evolution, Ultra Digivolution (though its always been "Digivolution" in the dubs of Adventure 1/2) is triggered. This allows the Digimon to, while a Champion, go to the next form of evolution which is Ultimate. However, without that kind of trigger, you'll have to digivolve using Tags--not the ones involved with crests!--that have barcodes on them. This sends the data needed for a Champion Digimon to go to the next level to the Digital Categorizer and triggers Ultimate Digievolution. After one scan, Ultimate Digivolution can be used normally. Without a D-Cat, your Digimon would have to naturally evolve through battle experience.
- Messager (Allows you to message anyone with a D-CAT, or anything capable of receiving electronic text messages.)
- PC general rules and Roleplay Lounge Rules apply!
- Stay inside the rating, it's there for a reason. >_>; (this means no excessive violence, no TOO overtly sexual themes, etc.)
- When performing actions like digivolving, note that you CANNOT digivolve all of the time! Digimon have their limits, you know!
- please be active. At least two posts per week. On the other side of the coin, don't worry about me not being active. I've been very active on PC lately...
- Bunnying is only allowed with NPCs, and even then only the less important ones.
- Digimon can only have a certain number of attacks: Fresh Digimon can only have one, In-Training can only have two, Rookies can only have three, Champions can only have four, Ultimates can only have five attacks, and Megas can have up to six attacks!
have fun l0lz
NOTE: You can pick almost any Digimon! Just make sure it has a full line, and it must start at the Rookie level.
