when it uses dull attacks the tail is closed

when it it uses cool attacks
it opens

or

when it is tired the tail opens
and when it is full of energy the tail is closed

Maybe its like a signal for other Espys, when the tail appears as one, it means danger, when it appears split, it means everything is fine. Or it could be for all psychic pokes

Maybe to show individuality from the other Eeveelutions? I always loved that split.

And I agree with CBM on the laziness, it's wonderful being lazy and a procrastinator.

Ummm yeah so Espeon. I actually really can't think of another reason why it's tail is split other than the one I posted up there on my answer. I don't think I will find one, since I'm lazy.

Okies (As Tali says..~) If Espeon are psychic and can do everything with their minds, how come they aren't able to tap into the perfect singing voice? Eg- Why can't they sing?~
 
Well, their vocal chords can't handle it. They could sing a beautiful song in telepathy, but they couldn't do it out loud. :3
 
That could be said about all psychic types.
