Heh, well, I did recently discover a way to bypass it, but I had no use for that function since I've never wasted money on a region-locked game. Unfortunately it's been patched within the last week now, though.
& Yeah it's frustrating, they decided to region-lock their most expensive console/games yet (well, aside from the U) whereas Sony and Microsoft haven't region-locked this gen at all. I've never bothered with Xbox but I do love Sony. Not as much of a Nintendo fan these days, but I still love 'em for their handhelds and Pokémon/AC/LoZ.
Aw, dang. :/ Was the patch from an official Nintendo update? I haven't updated my 3DS in forever, so I can't be sure haha. But if so, another exploit may pop up sooner or later, if you're lucky that is. xD
And yep, it's pretty ironic how we get region-locked
now when it finally feels like the Pokémon Company (and even Nintendo as a whole) is starting to become more globally united than they were before. Let's just hope that all of this region-locking was a bad experiment and will be done away with for the next handheld. :p
Well hey, if anyone-else here voices some kind of agreement, maybe we could get something going before everyone gets SPMD. xD But tell me about it lol, I've never cried at any videogame before except the PMD series (and maybe Axel's 'death' in KH2... ahem). That's part of the reason I can't bring myself to play GTI, since I don't think it'll have that same impact and it might sour my view of the series slightly. If only the main series could have such emotional/driven stories - I think Gen 5 did the best so far for that, but still no match for PMD.
Sounds good! Let's give it some time and see if anyone else comments on this. :D
But omg yeah... I've never cried at a video game before either, yet Explorers of Time/Sky managed to have me crying
more than once for Arceus' sake! (To make things worse, the soundtrack hit me right in the feels...) Aside from the main story, the most unexpected tears came from "Igglybuff the Prodigy," one of those special episodes. If anyone hasn't tried it yet, I really recommend doing so! ^.^
Regarding GTI's plot, I have no clue how it turns out either, considering I haven't played it yet. I understand that it would be incredibly difficult to top the Explorers games' story, but I definitely hope that it's
at least at Rescue Team's level (which is pretty simplistic itself). Upon replaying the Rescue Team games a while back, I admit the story wasn't "the greatest," but it was still nice, likable, and most importantly, consistent.
Yeah, it's probably something that's great in theory but not so much in practice. :P As much as I'd enjoy something like that, I suppose it rather clashes with the fact everyone is a talking Pokémon and friends with each-other. They seem less of pets in PMD and more humanised.
Btw (casually stalked your profile for all of 30 seconds), is your birthday really on 06/06/1996? xD Mine's 02/02/1996, so I've always loved having mine on the same number for both day and month haha.
Oh that's right haha, I forgot that your Pokémon are sorta treated more like pets in the main series, which
would make Amie a bit awkward. xD
As for other main series features that could be incorporated, I think it would be amazingly awesome if Mystery Dungeon had more global interaction (like the Player Search System in X/Y). This is only a rough idea, so I'm not yet sure how it would be executed, but imagine if you had the ability join other players' guilds around the world (after beating the main story of course), and once you reach a certain rank, you would be able to make a guild of your own. One can dream, right? :D
(And yep, that's my real birthday! I know how that feels, hehe.)
