The Extreme Speed Champions Tour

Well MATTFO0 and I had our battle. I managed to win , GG MATT. I guess we will get our next match ups after the 9th

Well looks like I can count on some people to finish matches around here :cheeky:

Thanks, Ito. Yeah, Thursday will be when the next match-ups go up.

AS A NOTE: Based on activity, I'll currently be putting Cody B and Zachattack through in singles and joangaes through in doubles if those three matches aren't completed by midnight tonight (EST).

hey i want to be in the other torney cuz i think i cant enter now in this one so i will be in the other

o.o? Try using punctuation in sentences and maybe I can sign you up for the next tournament.

Anyway, in a recent message brought to me by Maria Santos, she was up 5-3 in her singles match with Junoliv before there was a disconnect. Now, if the report was brought up in the Main Extreme Speed Open tournament, the rule would go as:

If a disconnection occurs, a rematch is usually called for. This, however, will not be necessary if someone was up by 2 Pokemon at the time of the disconnection, such as 5-3; 4-2; 3-1, etc. The winner will be the person WHO HAD MORE REMAINING POKEMON AT THE TIME OF DISCONNECTION.

So, even though my Extreme Speed experience has seen two disconnections before this (both of which were decided by rematches) we'll enforce the rule this time and from now on. So Maria Santos will move on to the final four of Viridian City, defeating Junoliv 5-3 (d/c).

Sorry, Junoliv, I hope this doesn't deter from your entry into future tournaments here on the Tour and in our main tournament. :( We're just trying to keep things fair, and in the main tournament I've seen two losses that shouldn't have occurred at all because the loser was previously winning in a disconnected match. So only if the score is tied (example: 3-3) or if it's a close game (example: 6-5 or 2-1) will a rematch be needed.

Thank you. At this time, I'd also like to announce the following advances:

Cody B def. Dundermifflinite in singles

(4) Zachattack101 def. Mukkamoto in singles (sorry again, Mukka XD looks like only being able to battle on weekends isn't a good thing for the Tour. Check back next week when we'll be holding sign-ups for our second Main ESO tournament.)

Joangaes def. Cody B (Sorry Cody, I know you've been active, but you haven't taken initiative to get matches done lately. Try proving me wrong by getting your Second round singles battle finished soon!

that is anxtremly unfair rule cuz it dosent take into consideration that i had hit other pokemon that she had switched out and thereore it was much closer than that. as for these tournaments that is the end for me i wont take part in these no more cuz i wud have gladly rematched her if it was the other way round . good bye

Again, I apologize, Junoliv. If you've also noticed we run the "Extreme Speed Open Tournament" as well, and in that tournament I've had two particular members who were the victims of disconnections. They were up by two or more Pokemon when a disconnection occurred. Both times the person that was losing came back and stated the problem and said "So what happens, can we rematch?" I allowed them to do so, but that went against my rule that is stated in that Tournament's front page saying disconnections only call for a rematch if the match was close, tied, or if both battlers really want a nice, full match because they know that was a fluke.

Maria wants to move on in the tournament, not a rematch. Since you guys don't know each other that well or have had epic past matches and know this uncompleted battle was not a representation of each other's skill, that's understandable.

Regardless of how many Pokemon you wounded, you didn't knock them out, and in a Pokemon battle that's what counts. You can poison, paralyze, put to sleep, confuse and get everyone of your opponent's Pokemon down to 10 HP but if you lose right then and there, that still qualifies as an 0-6 loss for you. Sure, your opponent might say "Holy Hoppips, that was an intense battle!", but the fact is you didn't win, so saying she had a handful of Pokemon that were weakened isn't going to help much.

Plus, it was brought to my attention that you were uploading youtube videos during the battle? I know from experience doing things like that or transferring large amounts of files or data has a direct effect on how well your network is working. I was kicked offline because a friend was sending someone a huge music file, and I'm positive uploading youtube videos does the same thing. I don't want to sound mean, but this is a pretty fair rule considering you could have easily finished or stopped uploading the videos and concentrated on the match, instead of having the disconnection occur and now suddenly you're ready to pay attention.

Whew...anyway, like I said earlier, we still would love to have you in future matches. Actually, this situation calls for an overview on our law of disconnections, so we can have this case posted as an example. We'll go over things with our other advisor and get back to you guys. Juno, I know the satisfaction of actually winning the tournament would be a better reward, but if we decide to overturn this case, we'll award both you and Maria Semi-Final points on the Tour (that's the round you're fighting to get into, just in case you weren't following.)

May I Join This Tournament???
We'd love to have you next week, Golden, the tournament is currently in the Quarter-Finals of singles and Semi-Finals of doubles. We'll be holding sign-ups later on for the next installment in Viridian Forest.

We'd hate to see you go because of this, junoliv. Like Ryan said, you'll still get Semifinal points, and I don't think you'll have any trouble getting more along the way, you're definitely a very skilled battler ^_^

Anyway, I sure hope this doesn't deter you from joining our next tournament.

My thoughts exactly. :mudkip^_^: Like I said, we're going to review this and the disconnection law we've got going. Sorry about that, it wasn't as big of a deal before (and now that I'm reconsidering the rule, it might actually not be that big of a deal..) so we'll definitely figure something out.

Sigh...with that said, remember everyone, you have until Thursday to finish your matches! that includes me..yipes!

Well after the D/C match Junoliv and I agreed to a rematch. Luckily for me I was the victor. GG Junoliv!

Sorry that this got so out of hand Ryan. I just got so frustrated because of that youtube thing. It really ticked me off but I gotta try not to make such a big deal out of it next time. xD

Well that was very noble of you, Maria! I'm proud of you guys. No worries, it's actually a good thing you made a big deal of it at first XD. We have to go over how our disconnect policy will work. I suppose until we decide, everyone will just have to rematch.

For the confusion and letdown, Juno, I'll still award you 20 points which is 5 more than the round you lost in. I hope we keep seeing you. :)

As for Maria, if I can get by Zach, I'll see you in the Final Four ;)
