    MattFO0 eliminated
    richdevildog559 eliminated

    Battler of the Day: Aurasphere
A good 2-2 start, getting through some tight matches. For someone who's wifi decided to work 5 days before the first round ended, he has his work cut out for him but a solid 7BP at that.

Well folks, we're continuing to get those solid results in. Another two days and we should have at least two regular qualifiers before we let slide-ins and wildcards on the floor. Keep on plugging.

I hope people haven't forgotten that if you're knocked out, you can still battle someone with 0 BP to try to get back in! It's late, but anything can happen!

WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! IT'S ROUND TWO INFO!

For round two, we're spicing things up a bit. The Extreme Speed is about surprises, so here it is: The point of this next round is scrolls. There are two types of scrolls: Time and Space (based on the Diamond and Pearl logos of course.) You'll receive one of these types of scrolls and you have to battle someone with the other.

Here's the catch! 12 people, 2 types of scrolls. We're dividing everybody into 6 teams of 2. Your partner will be determined by a seeded match up, and your seed will be determined by your progress in this tournament. A solid battle record and early entry into round two grants you a higher seed than someone who receives a wildcard or was one of the last few to qualify. The seeds will be posted on Tuesday with the team-ups underneath. Three teams will have a Space scroll and other three will have Time. You want to challenge one of the teams with the opposite scroll that you possess. After the pairings have been posted on Tuesday, you and your partner will have 3 days to decide which team you want to battle. On Friday, challenges may commence. These can happen only in the Battle Topic, but NOT anytime before 12:00 a.m. EST on Friday, September 5th.

Here's another catch for you guys: challenging the other team is a race. Once you challenge a team of the opposite scroll, they can't refuse the challenge. So if Bob/Carol challenge Jason/Nancy, Jason and Nancy have no choice but to battle the first pair. To make things fair, however, the secondary team gets to decide who will battle who in the pairings. So if Nancy don't wanna battle Carol, girl don't have to. Mmmmmmhm.

Now onto how the battles will work!
    Team A (Bob/Carol) vs. Team B (Jason/Nancy)
Team A has a Time Scroll and Team B has a Space Scroll. Team A logs onto PC early enough Friday and decided they want to fight Jason/Nancy for their Space scroll. They post so in the battle topic saying so and Jason and Nancy comply. So the matches are decided as:
    Jason vs. Carol
    Bob vs. Nancy
Here's two scenarios for you guys to mull over in your minds to predict how the round might play out:
    Jason (B) def. Carol (A) 6-0
    Nancy (B) def. Bob (A) 6-0
The B team has stomped the A team flat. Obviously it's the B team that moves on to round three.
    Jason (B) def. Carol (A) 6-0
    Bob (A) def. Nancy (B) 3-0
Oh snap! A trade off. Well here's how this works. The B team grabs a solid 6 Poke-defeats for Jason's win. The A team grabbed 3 for Bob's win. Since Nancy defeated three of Bob's team, even though she lost, now the score is B-9, A-3. B team moves on with a higher score! So even if you weren't too happy with your partner (don't vocalize that, please..) you still have a great shot at round three even if the match-ups are risky. That's what makes Extreme Speed fun!
Sucks for the A team. Anyway, that's how things would go down with the teams. If we get a draw in someplace, you'll just battle the opposite person and the combined score from all the matches would determine which team moves on.

Well guys we're down to our last day. Feel free to try and qualify regularly. If no one else does reach 10BP by 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, we'll be rolling in the top 2 in the standings for "Most BP". After that, 3 wildcards will be handed out. It's being judged on who gets them and we'll make our decision by this time tomorrow night.

    Current candidates include
    Smarties-chan
    Mike Ukiuki
    ZaChAttAck101
    POKEMASTERALEX
    sims796
    Angela

We'll decide on three of the above (again, unless somebody is going to try to qualify normally). The categories include most matches, best battle records, most prizes donated, etc.

Keep up the battles if you can tomorrow. I might try to grab one myself to try and qualify normally, so hit me up if you're on ;)

Once the wildcards are announced, we'll also post the round two pairings. Read the post a couple above this for round two info (or check the front page.)

LAST DAY OF BATTLING FOR ROUND ONE!

Make sure that you at least make some attempt to get close to 10 BP. Even if you don't get 10, we're taking the next two highest point totals after that and three wildcard entries. So anything can happen!

Now here's what you've all been waiting for! If you still haven't seen the round two information and how it's going to work, check the third post on the front page by Aurasphere.

Here's the list of seeds, pairings, and what scroll each team possesses. Remember you want to challenge a team with the opposite scroll that you have. Each battler will have 3 days (that's until 12:00 a.m. Friday, September 5th) to PM/VM their teammate (I suggest PM for privacy) to decide which team of the opposite scroll they want to challenge. Once you guys have figured that out, it's a race to the challenge box! To challenge the team you want, you're going to have to log on as early as possible on Friday to post in the Battle Topic only. Remember, if you log in to find that your team has been challenged before you could make a challenge, you can't refuse!

Another note, the team that is challenged gets to be the ones to pick who fights who in the matches. And without further ado, here's the list!

    1. The Graceful Assassin - (5-1)
    2. Bendak - (4-0)
    3. Matt-O - (3-0)
    4. World King's Lugia - (5-4)
    5. Znale - (2-0)
    6. mystery2009 - (2-0)
    7. Aurasphere - (3-2)
    8. Ryan24 (5-3)
    9. _Prince_ -(2-0)
    10. POKEMASTERALEX - (4-4) (WC)
    11. sims769 - (3-2) (WC)
    12. Smarties-chan - (1-1) (WC)
    (ALT) - ZaChAttAck101 - (1-1)

    Key: ALT-alternate, (WC)-wild card

    Time Scroll Teams!

    (2) Bendak and (11-WC) sims769

    (5) Znale and (8) Ryan24

    (6) mystery2009 and (7) Aurasphere

    Space Scroll Teams!

    (1) The Graceful Assassin and (12-WC) Smarties-chan

    (3) Matt-O and (10-WC) POKEMASTERALEX

    (4) World King's Lugia and (9) _Prince_

We also have ZachAttack listed as an alternate. Right now, Znale (my partner of course -_-) is the only inactive person, everyone else is pretty good about logging on. So if Znale or anyone else doesn't respond here by Wednesday night, Zach will take their place on a team. That's the whole shebang folks. Get talking to your partner and figure out your challenge, or if you both decide you don't mind who you face, sit back and await the challenges!

Umm..no your not, lucas. See, I offered you the chance to battle someone earlier but as of right now you've been eliminated because you didn't battle before the deadline. It's round two now and only those listed above are still in. Sorry!

I'm a little confused on how this works. Do I just challenge, like Smarties & Graceful, to a doubles match with Bendak?

Contact your teammate first. The match types will once again be up to the battlers discretion. On Friday, you may challenge whichever team you like with the opposite scroll that your team has.

Rules for round 2 are also up in the standings post.

I'll try to explain round two a little easier. There's no double battles (well there could be.) Just like round one, when it comes to the matches you and your opponent can decide on what to battle in, be it OU, UU whatever.

You and your teammate PM each other and say "hey, which team do you think we should challenge?" Once you agree on a team, you have to wait until Friday to post the challenge. If you are challenged by a different team before you get around to posting your own challenge, now your stuck with facing the team that challenged you (since they got there quicker.) This is how it works:

    Team A challenges Team B
Since Team B didn't get to choose the team their facing, they get to decide the matches. So if sims and Bendak challenge Smarties and Graceful, Smarties and Graceful can decide which member they want to fight. So Smarties could choose sims and Graceful gets Bendak or vice versa. Again, the type of match (singles, doubles, OU, UU, uber, etc.) is up to both opponents, just come to an agreement. I'm sure most of the matches will end up being OU standard, but with Extreme Speed we're still giving everyone the option.
