Yeah! I was really upset when I found I had to use ponyta in my diamond game because there weren't any others...it is probably my least favourite fire pokemon (apart from combusken)

its actually originally from just plain Red/Blue, Rene. and Rapidash's flames wont burn the rider if the Rapidash loves you :)

Maybe not, but I was going to say the exact same thing that Evkay said about that Rapidash's flames stayed cool or something while Ash was on it. :D And I think they should have more beginner trainers in the anime as the Fire starter Pokemon could do with an appearance or two; even if they were needed to complete a task by a Pokemon Ranger and then let go, but unfortunately they are in Sinnoh at the moment and who knows where they'll be going next in a region if at all. :\

Okay, I know. I watched the episode before. It's when Ash rided on Ponyta, suddenly it evolves into Rapidash and won the match.

Yeah, depending on the types that the Elite are carrying. I know that I always make sure that I have a Fire-type on my team to take on the Elite in the games. Blaziken proved to be very useful when I was playing Ruby. In FireRed, however, I mostly used my Charizard for her Dragon moves, rather than her Fire moves, to defeat the Elite.

ya i agree, Blaziken in Ruby was pretty essential for me. Charizard helped in Fire Red with Dragon moves and fire all around... but i can't really say if they help because i always try to carry 2 fires and just neutral over power everything in the E4 =X lol

Yes, I think so. Because I used my Charizard in FireRed against Elite Four. It helped me to defeat all the Elite Four members.
